what a pretty place to fall

She makes her way to the bar, expecting to either wait or elbow her way between people to place an order, but instead she finds a single open stool right in front of her like it’d been waiting for her. 

Another sign, her mental Annie whispers.

Her luck continues, and one of the bartenders is right there, looking almost startled as she drops down into the empty seat.

“Bourbon,” she says, raising her voice a little to be heard over the crowd. “With ice, nothing fancy. No milk!”

The bartender gives her a weird look—which is fair, she supposes, but she isn’t taking any chances after the last bar—before hustling off. Beth lets her purse fall off her shoulder catching it with her elbow and looking around for the best place to put it.

“Hook’s under the bar.”

“Thanks." 

Beth doesn’t really register anything about the helpful guy sitting next to her besides his short dark hair, gender, and general proximity as she gropes around by her knees before finding the hook in question and hanging her bag from it.

"Thank you,” she says more sincerely, straightening up to face him properly and oh.

It's almost here! Good Girls Appreciation Week starts this Sunday, August 15th, at 12:00 am in whatever timezone you happen to be in!

Write fic, make gifs, share playlists, create art, tag each other in headcanon and ask games... on as many or as few days that you'd like... all in celebration of NBC's Good Girls!

The rules are simple:

Keep it positive! This means when you’re focusing on your love of A, B, or C, you avoid tearing down X, Y, and Z in the process.

Spread the love! Like the posts you see and encourage content creators, old and especially new! Hit that reblog button a little more often. The fandom benefits when we support each other and encourage newbies to try their hand at creating something. Let creators know what you think they’ve done especially well by leaving positive tags and/or dropping a note in their inbox!

Use the designated hashtag! Tag all posts #ggaw2021 so that anyone following the tag can see all the new content as its uploaded.

Use headings or captions! Try to use a heading or caption that alludes to which day you are posting for, e.g. “Day 5: Favorite Antagonist - Agent James Turner.”

Post within your timezone! The days last a little longer here in Good Girls Land where time is fake and everyone counts on their fingers! Don’t worry about calculating numbers—the day starts at 12:01 am and ends at 11:59 pm in whatever timezone you happen to be in.

Do your best! Try your best to post by the designated day, but remember: this is supposed to be fun. If you miss the designated day but are still really inspired to make or finish something for it, share it anyway!
