Anyways- putting the pain and suffering aside- I loved the way you described Bart’s relationship with death; I like that hearing he dies tragic didn’t really shock him. It’s probably partly because the work he does is dangerous, but also ties back into his childhood.

The opening with Cassie was great too! I love her (I need her). I’m so glad we got a bit more Cassie (and may be getting more in the future? 👀) before the story ended!

Great chapter as per usual. I’m sorry for my incoherent ramblings; my mind is like a ping pong ball at the moment and can’t seem to land. I’m destroyed over that one line though fuckin hell…

since u knw about how much bart allen core music inspires me, that specific quote was inspired by Marinas song Immortal that i’ve word vomited about on here before 😭 the original quote was at first much closer to her actual lyric but it didn’t read as naturally so i changed it up to what i feel he’d actually say, because the premise of the lyric in the first place is just too spot on with him, so it wasn’t hard to think about in the end

i feel like as always, i kind of jumped the gun by going on about bart and cassie friendship when this chapter was very light on it, but it’s because i just can’t help it 😩 ITS A NEED that i even gotta go on about it to myself because wth author ??? (@ me) so here’s hoping for the sequel !!

Seeing as you're about to write on Cassie and Bart friendship, I'd like to add in a lil headcanon of sorts of mine

Bart tried to steal her lasso as his Ultimate Quest after the Reach yknow evaporated, and she in turn made it a game to catch him with it in the most absurd ways

I'm talking her sending a selfie in the groupchat with Bart stuck in an upside-down ball position hanging down from a treebranch because he tried to sneak up to Cassie from said treebranch and she caught him mid-leap

(Props if Bart makes funny faces while she takes the pictures, if he's gonna lose then he'll do it with some flair like the diva that he is)

congratulations, i have taken ur headcanon and by the power vested in me (the sheer power of delusion and fan content) have decided that this is absolutely canon and indisputable

can i just say, this is one of the most incredible things i’ve ever seen and i am so grateful that u have shared this with us, like omg <333 THANK YOU for this incredible playlist, genuinely blown away by this.the added details, timestamps and commentary, everything about it is amazing.

i’m sorry for just responding now, but i wanted to make sure to listen to all the songs properly before i did!

i knew immediately when u first sent this that it was about to be a great playlist because of the mother mother inclusion, probably about 60% of their discography has literally been the background music to so much of my bart allen character and world building, i kid you not. Body is a top tier song of theirs and i 100% see ur vision there

i adore checking out new music that i don’t think i would’ve otherwise discovered by myself, because it really does feel like a whole new world! All the Paul Shapera songs u have here were crazy good, genuinely blown away by the pure world building of his discographies. Like i don’t think i’ve ever seen anything like it before. My absolute favorites from his songs in ur list were A2 S2 Kyrie (this one did something to my lizard brain oh my days “the sugar coated fantasy land that is the past” like literally genius level stuff there), Ryvyrs Reunion (so entertaining lol and loved the Ryvyr parallel), and Amber Reflects (adore this song a lot, great melody).

I know it’s more about the themes of the songs rather than the mythology, but i also love all the Hadestown inclusions. I’ve always been a big fan of ancient mythology and around a month back I binged the Blood of Zeus series which had me falling down the rabbit hole again and it felt so timely, because for the past months i’ve been working on the Epilogue chapter of my AAIT fic and I had to figure out exactly what i wanted to include to bridge it with the sequel fic. Considering part 2 involves Barts disappearance and the Outsiders, ofcourse cassie plays a prominent role, so i decided to “introduce” her into the story in the epilogue. Writing about Cassie and rereading some Wonderwoman comic issues of her in it, i felt like i just had to include some greek mythology in the chapter because some of their themes r so incredibly timeless that i felt like it gave some nice parallels (albeit somewhat subtle) to barts plot as a whole and how AAIT concludes. Anyway, all this to say, I approve of all the Hadestown songs, lol

amazing work u’ve done here, again thank u so much for sharing this and for introducing us to some new songs and artists! the layered themes that music can convey is so unparalleled, so something like this, is really special!! I look forward to listening to the rest of the songs you recommended in ur other ask <33
