The poll recently ended so I thought it would be worthwhile to look at the results as a community.

It seems like perceived vs actual levels of harassment for people that use Bright is higher by about double. This mismatch between perception and actual harassment should hopefully ease some minds. However, 14.6% is still a concerning number that we should seek to lower.

However, people who use rewrites are currently about four times as likely to receive harassment than perception of those who wish to use rewrites. This is a very large and concerning number that needs to be addressed.

This also means that over 50% of people total have been harassed for the character they choose to use. This is absolutely not okay and we need to strive to be better as a community, as well as not letting harassers go unnoticed, they should be brought to the light out of anonymity so people can be aware and know who to block to keep themselves safe.

Please feel free to DM this blog evidence of harassment and we will see what we can do about making an awareness post.

Already got the allegation on here but not the ban log so here that is. I would really recommend everyone on here look through the ban logs. We likely won't post about those aside from rare cases because the ban logs are public and anyone can look through them.

can I know what djkaktus did?

Allegations of predatory behavior and transphobia, pressuring someone to drink before legal age is the big ones. Not my screenshots. Again these are just allegations. Not my screenshots.

There is also a plethora of other behavior I cannot exactly recall from the top of my head so I won’t claim things.

Not sure what lead up to this argument about the predatory allegations against cyan being false so idk how much it should be trusted. There were also claims that cyan was unfairly demonized by onsite.

If anyone knows what lead up to some dismissing these claims or the full story let us know. With the wikis history of disregardimg victims this could just be another case of that.

Hey just to clarify, there are no confirmed reports of Cyan sexually abusing minors. There’re plenty of testimonies that he abused former partners, but they were adults. It’s totally reasonable that people might not want him around teens but there’s no evidence that he’s ever met any minors irl for sex. You didn’t do anything wrong but be careful, he’s been using inaccuracies to slander all the people who have spoken out against him as liars.

Are there any other authors/artists I should be worried about other than Bright and Cyan? I'm not into scp anymore but just in case I somehow encounter them or if one of my friends is a fan despite scp's writing problems.

I’d say be wary of personally interacting with ANY scp writer who’s well known. djkaktus is one to avoid, definitely. (he’s a dick)

Also if anyone has any evidence on Cyantreuse could you please post it publicly somewhere? So far I’ve only seen allegations of them being abusive towards previous partners?

Hi I go by Reaper. I'm the OG making of this account and thought it was time for us all to do an intro! My pronouns are they/them. I have been in this fandom since sometimes around 12-13. I don't remember the exact entry time. I've experienced some unacceptable behavior from onsite people back then which inspired me to make this account!

My hopes on here is to help those that have also been hurt and let them know they aren't alone. As well as to spread awareness! We are here for you and happy to help in any way we can!

New mod reporting to the team. I go by Vindication and use she/her pronouns. I have been involved in the SCP fandom since 2013 and I do exist on the wiki.

I am a member of a system and believe in those who harm children and vulnerable individuals being brought to justice through proper means such as filing reports to the NCMEC and through community education.

Excited to offer a listening ear to those who need as well as helping to make awareness posts and talk about issues relating to systems and related to disability rights advocacy.

Another new mod joining this crew. I go by Sunflower and use he/it pronouns. I've been in the fandom for only a few years and while it's brought comfort to me, the horrors are deep and we need to shine a light on all the issues with the wiki.

My groomer was the one that brought me back into this fandom and the friends I've made in it helped me escape that situation, just a sign that things do get better, no matter how far away the sun may seem.

I'm looking forward to helping people through this, I hope some good can be done.

I'm assuming that you're getting death threats for this blog so I just wanted to say thank you for running this because I had no idea anyone but bright's creator is problematic 😭

Haha yeah it's been rough since the poll. Especially since it got popular so this account now has over double the followers it did before that 😶‍🌫️ but idc sending shit to an acount dedicated to keeping info on creep is honestly a huge red flag and says more about them than it does the people running this account so if anything I find it funny. They are really outing themselves with that.

I really appreciate this ask though it's nice to see people not being hostile! I'm always thankful for that at a time like this! You're awesome for that!

I really wish with all the stuff with Duckman finally becoming more common knowledge after so long people would recognize that others onsite enabled that kinda behavior for over a decade.

The community should band together and be asking for those that allowed this behavior to be held accountable as well and recognize that there are so many others that are also gross and so many other things about and on the wiki that need to be recognized as problematic. It's really sad to see that instead of trying to better the community and help keep people informed and protect people from predators many want to harass each other.

I know the poll isn't over yet but if there is one take away from it it's that many have been harassed in this fandom and it might be naive of me to suggest but I think we could all learn to be nicer and more understanding to each other. We shouldn't be each other enemies on this. It doesn't help anyone. The wiki put their fans in harms way by allowing this kind of behavior for so long and that shouldn't be ignored.

I can’t believe this actually has to be said but don’t send hate, harass, or send death threats to anyone for using Bright, Shaw, or a rewrite.

Additionally make sure you tag correctly I’ve already seen Bright users complain about having their posts tagged as Shaw or Myriad/rewrites and I’ve seen rewrite creators complain about having their rewrites tagged as Bright or Shaw, it’s not that hard to read blog rules and use common sense, creators shouldn’t have to state which tags can or can’t be used in each and everyone of their posts.

What to start with idk what exactly classifies a cult but all the stuff said in this post shouldn't go ignored because of a wording choice. Those of you doing that are weird as shit for it tbh.

I dont disagree, I just cant articulate the reasoning as to why I dont disagree, and would like to see where youre coming from with this. OK [cracks knuckles] I will try and keep this as short as possible, but you have to understand I’ve been observing the wiki in the wild literally since its inception, so there is a lot of stuff to consider. anyway let’s buckle up.

I base this theory on a set of guidelines set out for spotting if an organisation might be a cult. generally cults are religiously based; obviously this does not apply here. as far as I’m aware, nobody sees the SCP wiki as a religion (yet). because of this a couple of the points regarding spotting a cult are irrelevant (they concern things like separation from the Church which obviously doesn’t apply) but nearly all of the others (even some religious ones) can apply if we provide context. so without further ado:
