Sneak Boys™|@drowdisaster

Finding out how to get out of this place through well, more conventional means had been a bit of a bust. But his time spent gathering information on the city hadn’t been a complete waste in Killua’s opinion - he’d managed to find some information on the Gentry, though admittedly this amounted to little more than ‘The Gentry are in charge’, ‘The Gentry live in the Manor District’ and ‘Do not approach the Manor District.’
He had also heard a little something about the other people living in the city. It was surprising really, what people would tell you just because you were a kid. He hadn’t even really had to threaten anyone, yet here he was. Here being covertly watching Zeerith from two stalls over as the man took a stroll around the markets.
Zeerith, Killua had learned, was staying at St. Angus’. He preferred to wear his hood up when out and about - Killua figured it had something to do with the ears. He spent most of his time armed, generally with a rapier, a couple of daggers and a bow. He was also quiet and quick and a little bit ridiculously sneaky. And from the way Killua had seen him helping out strangers in the street, he was kind. Kind in a way that reminded him a little of Knuckle - a man who looked like a thug and acted like thug, but who angry cried over kittens and complained as he fed every stray dog he came across. He had also, Killua had noted approvingly, seemed to notice that he was being followed. He hadn’t managed to find Killua, but most people couldn’t - just the fact that Zeerith had managed to even notice him was impressive.
In short, he was exactly the sort of person Killua was looking for. It would be ridiculous for him to break into the Manor District all by himself of course.
Noting that Zeerith had started to move on, Killua followed at a slight distance, making sure to keep his aura hidden. He seemed to be heading towards an emptier part of the distract, which was good really. Killua thought he’d been watching him long enough, it was time to do something about it.
As soon as they hit an empty street, Killua stopped trying to hide - he let his aura settle naturally around him and placed his feet with a purpose, making sure his footsteps were clearly audible. He didn’t want to spook the guy after all and maybe get stabbed for his troubles.
“Hey, old man!” Killua called out to him with grin, jogging up slightly so he was by the man’s elbow. Jeez he was tall, Killua couldn’t wait till he hit his growth spurt. “You seem like you’re pretty cool. Want to go break into some joint with me?” A bit blunt maybe, but Killua didn’t see much point in beating around the bush, he had things to do, places to break into.

[Open] Goddamn Millenials
It was a point of pride for Killua that he adjusted well to new and unknown situations. Stick him out in the big wide world all of a sudden, with no family breathing down his neck and a brand-spanking new best friend? He was good. Send him off inside a literal video game where the rules for, well practically everything were completely different? Please, that had been a piece of cake. Drop him into a war against ridiculously powerful creatures that evolved via digestion?
Well, okay that one he hadn’t dealt with so well. But in his defence, he’d been pretty certain they were all going to die.
Here, however, he didn’t feel threatened at all. Which was actually a little bit unnerving in and off itself to be honest; he didn’t quite know what the point in kidnapping a bunch of people was if you weren’t going to do anything to them.
Just because he didn’t feel in danger didn’t mean he wasn’t keen to get out as soon as possible though. Quite the opposite really - Alluka and Nanika were out there somewhere, all alone with no one to protect them. He’d only just gotten his little sister away from their crazy family and he wasn’t about to leave her on her own, completely unprotected, just because of some stupid city.
Which is why his first port of call had been the library. His best bet at finding out where he was the Hunter Association’s website and since he hadn’t been able to spot any web cafe’s on his swift and silent trek across the city, this was the obvious place to find a computer.
After having scoured both floors though, a rather horrifying thought was beginning to dawn on Killua. That maybe this place didn’t actually have any computers. That would be ridiculous though, what kind of ass-backward library didn’t have a computer in this day and age?
Well, probably one in a city that looked as if it was only half-way between the transition from gas to electricity.
Tumblr media
Forgetting he was trying to be unobtrusive as possible until he know what the hell was going on, he rounded on what he assumed to be a librarian, a finger thrown accusingly in their face, “What kind of lame ass library doesn’t even have a computer?!”
