Okay so lately I begun to fall back into old fandoms (as one does) and this time dtmg has me in a chokehold which cause me to chomp on all your fics like a hungry worm (all of them delicious btw, I love the way you write the characters and specially the relationship between Spencer and Billy, the way the ghost shift from brat to brother figure and vice versa makes me vibrate lol) and I've been intrigued since you headcanon him with a more rockstar side cuz me too and I wanted to ask if by chance there are some song that you headcanon for him in that phase or reminded you of him.

Personaly the song "figure it out" by royal blood kinda gives me his vibes for some reason, as well as "gossip" by maneskin, I always thought it would be a song he had well hidden, one he'd write on a whim after conflicts with the media or the lHollywood life.in those days he had conflicts with the media and the hollewood life (or all the other way to, just releasing it without giving a shit because he's petty like that)

Thank you so much! I'm so happy there are still people enjoying my little fics, haha. I've been thinking about trying to write more again if I can find the time. One of my favorite things to write in DTMG was Billy being a brat vs actually trying to be a somewhat responsible older sibling figure when he needs to be. 😆

Gossip is perfect for how I headcanon his rock and roll persona and his attitude towards Hollywood and that lifestyle as he got older. I really like that song for him. If you have any more song or artist suggestions, I'd love to hear them. 😃 I love the idea of him writing songs like that in secret after his taste for the Hollywood lifestyle grew stale, or he had conflicts with other celebs/media before his untimely demise. 😬

When I was originally working on those ideas, my brain decided it wanted to mostly replay classic hits of my formative years...so the usual suspects. I don't really have that many specific songs. I was re-listening to a lot of MCR, Green Day, The Struts, and Kill Hannah. Desert Song was one that I could really see him doing at a very low point in his life. Get Famous, Los Angeles, New York City Speed, and Radio by Kill Hannah have that vibe. Also, Choke by I Don't Know How But They Found Me if he was partially pissed off at someone...

After his death, if he kept composing, I could see him writing some The Black Parade stuff out of anger and grief. Pretty Vicious (Are You Entertained, These Four Walls, Move, Are You Ready for Me etc..) was my inspiration for his Viper persona post-life.

If he ever grew more of a spine, I'd like to see him collaborate with Spencer for a themed album. The Ice Nine Kills album The Silver Scream is all about classic horror movies, so that's perfect.

The song Out in the City Lights by Midnight Danger is like the theme song to my Ghost Stories series, and I can picture Billy singing it.

Honestly dtmg has so much missed potential with ghost characters. Like other than Billy you only see another ghost once (Bobby) which opens up the idea that there's other ghosts the cast can interact with but they don't. I know you explored it in some of your fics but like, for example, they could have come up with fun explorations of house dietys (spirits that protect homes and houses in Japanese folklore I think) or haunted objects or haunted areas. Like for example irl it's said that the Hollywood sign is haunted. It just could have been so much fun if they could explore that properly.

I 1000% agree! That's one reason I started writing DTMG stuff to begin with. DTMG has a lot of tropes that I LOVE, like Ghosts, Music (though I prefer rock and roll over pop), and corny/B list horror/zombie movies (especially 80's ones). Unfortunately, we didn't really get much of that in the show...

I had several ideas for various ghosts and hauntings that the boys would get involved in, but I just haven't gotten around to writing them. Long post, so more under the cut if you're interested:

I had one idea drafted about Spencer working part-time at a movie theater, only to realize it was haunted by a ghost from the black and white films era who would trap his victims in silent movie-esque scenarios. The ghost was upset about being forgotten and left behind. The boys would have to figure out how to calm the ghost down and would work out a compromise, getting the theater to have a classic movie night every now and then, so the ghost wouldn't keep trapping people. Another idea I had was for Spencer to start delving into 'ghost hunting' videos on his MeTube channel. It doesn't go as well as he thought because all the fancy 'ghost hunting' equipment he bought turns out to be mostly BS or 'the living' can't see the evidence. Here's a little drabble I wrote:

“Ok, EVP test,” Spencer said into the mic as he panned his camera around. “Is there anyone here who would like to talk?” Billy grinned and waved when the camera turned to him. “BJC here!” “Not you,” Spencer snapped. “Anyone else, who might want to talk with us?”

At one point, Spencer actually finds one haunted house but doesn't realize it until the ghost follows him home and starts to torment him and Billy in the mansion. Here's the little drabble I was thinking of when they get home after a hunt and order take-out, only to be met with something worse than a bad delivery driver. Please pardon how rough it is:

Spencer opened the door, grinning at their would-be food bearer. But blinked at the empty space that greeted him instead. He took two steps out of the entrance, looking around, but there was no one there. Not even a delivery bag was left on the stoop. Huh... Maybe he’d imagined it? But no. Billy heard it too. Even told him to go answer the door and get the food. Confused, he shook his head, stepped back in, and closed the door. Maybe the delivery guy had left when Spencer took too long to get to the door. He turned back around and started making his way back up the stairs. Knock Knock Knock Spencer’s heart lept and he whipped around. He shook his head to get a hold of himself. The deliveryman came back. That was all. Must have been within view of the house and seen Spencer come to the door. “Coming!” He called as he jogged over to ensure they didn’t leave again. He flung the door open, anticipating seeing that friendly face even more now. Nothing.  Spencer’s heart sank. He took a few hurried steps outside, looking around in all directions. There was no one else around. He stretched up on his toes, looking over the decorative walls and shrubs around the yard. Maybe a ding-dong-ditch-er was playing a prank; some neighborhood kids or any one of his many, many school bullies. Someone must have found out he was home alone (more or less) and was trying to scare him.  “Not very clever, ya know! It’ll take more than that to scare me!” He shouted into the darkness. No response. A wave of embarrassment washed over him at how ridiculous he must look right now. Outside, by himself, yelling at nothing. He ran back inside and slammed the door, locking it behind him. There was a logical explanation. Maybe the delivery guy had come and gone again. Somehow, impossibly, quick enough that Spencer hadn’t seen him. That was all, right? Right.  Spencer sucked in a breath. Everything was fine. He was the Horror Helmer after all, they’d have to do more than knock to scare him. Spencer started back towards the stairs. Five steps away from the door. Six, seven, eight, nine- KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK Spencer jumped, spinning around and nearly falling over. His heart pounded in his chest so loud that he nearly mistook it for more knocking. Spencer sucked in a breath to brace himself and bolted for the door. He flung it open, letting it swing back and hit the wall, not caring if it left a mark. Now someone HAD to be there. He’d been too fast at answering, even if someone was trying to hide he would still spot them, there weren’t that many hiding places immediately outside the door.  No one. Nothing. The same silent, dark, empty space, dimly lit by the porch lights.  Not even a single moth fluttering around the lamp. . . Huh. NO insects or insect sounds of any kind now that he was listening. No distant echoes of cars driving by, no crickets chirping, no shouting from late-night party goers. Not even the wind. Every hair on Spencer’s body stood on end. He slowly shut the door, bolted the locks, and backed up, keeping his eyes fixated on it.  “YO! Brozilla!” Spencer jumped a foot in the air, and he fell on his backside. Billy swung down into his frame of view. “What gives, dude? Answer the door! The Cobra needs to get his munchies on!” Spencer’s mouth worked, trying to form words, but nothing came out. Billy only gave him a few seconds, staring with a slightly irritated look, one eyebrow raised. Then he rolled his eyes. “Fine, I’ll get it,” he said, clearly not caring if he was seen or not. Spencer tried to call out, to tell him not to answer it, but the words were stuck in his throat.

Throughout the series, Billy's powers keep growing: he can hear things in evp static that 'the living' can't hear, and he can see ghosts when he's just out and about on a normal day, and it freaks him out. I did actually write one story where he sees a ghost who died in a fire, but I never posted it because it was kind of dark and depressing....(I wrote it during a low point, but if anyone is interested, let me know)

Back on the Billy shenanigans front, I had one idea where Spencer was playing around with the idea of making a slasher film, only for Billy's ecto to cause chaos once again. I wanted to title it Chainsaw Slasher after the VHS Glitch song.

Another drabble I was working on was them investigating an entire ghost town. During the day, it was much less exciting than Spencer was led to believe. But if you're one of the unlucky few to hear the bell tower chime at sunset while there's no one else around, then get ready for one hell of a night.

I had a standalone story that was kind of a "What If?" where Mallory kept the pirate hat on in Ep 1 and she saw Billy and how that'd unfold.

AND, to round out my Ghost Stories series, I had an idea where Billy goes toe-to-toe with Hoover in the Beverly Beverly Hills High School gymnasium, and his powers basically obliterate the gym. This lets Madam X know he's becoming too strong and getting further out of her reach, so she hatches a plan and uses the help of Bobby to finally catch him. The gang has to figure out how to break him out. This all leads into another plot about how he actually died and her possible unintentional involvement.

So yeah, I digress. They could have done SO MUCH with all these neat tropes. And I feel terrible about not continuing the series atm, but unfortunately, ~ L I F E ~ decided to get in the way...

A fun concept: Billy as a baby/ toddler being that kid that cried if he wasn't being held at all times.

A drama queen as an adult and he would 100% be a drama queen as a child. Agreed. 😆

Imagine a conversation between Billy and Spencer where Spencer, talking about Wendy, says something along the lines of "I'm surprised the city let you keep what could be classified as a "body disposal" system." To which Billy gets offended that Spencer would suggest that his beloved swamp puppy would ever eat a human when she could have whatever premium meat her little croc heart desired.

Lol I totally agree, Billy would 100% react that way. 😆 I have no doubt he only bought the most expensive premium meat on the market to feed her. He definitely spoiled the shit out of her. 🤣

I noticed you like to talk about Billy Joe Cobra, so. Based on IRL cases, Do you think Billy was ever abused? (with IRL cases, I mean there are real celebrities who have confessed to be abused; or as I call it "The Dark Side Of Fame") I do have the headcanon that Billy was abused, in like the same way as Angel Dust (Hazbin Hotel)

Haha, yeah I do like talking about DTMG and Billy since I invested quit a bit of content in that before I disappeared for a bit...I have many other interests, I just don't get asked about them as much here. Most of my asks and other things are on Kiristo. But since I never finished my DTMG series I do enjoy talking about it.

I personally never headcanonned at the time that he was abused, but I can totally see that given how the industry is and how IRL cases have come to light in recent years... In my original headcannons, he was mostly neglected in terms of just being able to be, or be treated as, a normal kid. He was forced into an extremely toxic, fast-paced industry and environment when he was waaay too young with too many expectations on him, and with a family/support system who either didn't see that or care. I haven't finished watching Hazbin Hotel (because I suck and so does life), so I don't know the full extent of Angel's abuse but the dressing room scene I saw does remind me a little of something I had planned for my MadamX fic. After Billy gets captured and refuses to submit to any of her requests she resorts to physical, mental, and/or emotional torture/abuse to get him to cooperate (like the one comic I had posted where she threatens Spencer after nothing else works).

Do you have any ideas of what billy was like before he went on the talent show when he was 6? I can't imagine him being anything but a very dramatic little kid.

Oh, I have no doubt he was a dramatic little kid, haha. Maybe more innocent than before the fame hit him. Like a typical kid vying for everyone's attention and very boisterous about showing off anything that interests him. But, since Billy had parents who were in the entertainment and music industry they would have probably fed any interest of his that related to those fields.

Sorry this is late! For some reason, I'm not getting notifications from Tumblr anymore?? I thought I got an email about this but I can't find it anymore and I can't remember if I responded to it...Anyway, I haven't played with Communities at all and I'm not really active enough in general, let alone with DTMG anymore. I don't know if I'll be producing any content for DTMG these days beyond answering the occasional ask. Given what I have going on in my personal life I don't see that getting any better, tbh...I feel bad being part of a community with nothing to contribute. 😬

Do you have any particular headcanons over Billy's early childhood? Like what do you imagine his parents were like?

Sorry for the delay, I got busy and nearly forgot to answer this...oops. 😬 It's been so long since I've delved into this fandom I had to go back and reread some of the things I wrote about his childhood in P/R/P. 🤦‍♀️ I have some ideas and they're probably more canon divergent, centering around the fics I wrote...But for some reason, I imagine a distant or absent father figure (probably died when Billy was young) who never reached the same level of fame and fortune that Billy does. I can't recall if I mentioned it in the stories or previous asks but I think I had a vague head cannon that the reason he never got famous was because he didn't perform anything considered 'popular', or possibly performed stuff that was frowned upon at that time period(like possibly drag or something). Due to all that, his mother is a little too concerned with her son reaching fame and fortune because her husband never did, and it's why she was so concerned with how Billy presented himself to the public (not that he ever listened and he fought with her constantly because of it). Considering Billy was placed on a TV talent show at the age of 6 and lived in the limelight throughout the rest of his life, it can be a huge ego boost (as we clearly see) but also quite damaging. Since he grew up in that environment he clearly does not know much about having a 'normal' life.

Hello! I just wanted to say... thank you for your fics and takes and drawings for DTMG! Years ago I stumbled on them, I loved reading them, and I enjoyed how you kept the two platonic! So, thank you! One of my favorites you drew was when Billy was caught by Madame X and was about to possibly dip into his ghost powers/go Dan or Evil Danny on Madame X for threatening his little tater tot. I loved your first fic, Pause/Rewind/Play, it's a classic and it's inspired me to imagine my own more realistic/darker/teen version of them and the show!

Bit late but a post Dawning doodle of Blue having dragged her cookie oven to the Shore to teach Crow how to bake cookies. His first few attempts don’t go too well but she makes him lots of biscotti's to cheer him up. Some of my thought dump about Blue’s thoughts on Crow under the cut:

Blue isn’t without fault. She’d definitely be one of those Guardians to shoot Crow on sight just because he has Uldren’s face, no questions asked and damn the consequences. But when she learns Crow is a Guardian that kind of flips the switch and she feels guilty because she doesn’t exactly have a sparkling record in her past life either. She did something bad too that she doesn’t remember and is still paying for it. The only difference being that it’s among the Reef Awoken, not Guardians, so hating Crow just because he was once Uldren makes her feel like a hypocrite. Once she gets over her initial gut wrench reaction towards his face she’s happy to help out this little New Light and she grows fond of him to where she’d even start looking for a way to free Glint of Spiders’ bomb so her and her team can spirit them away somewhere safe.

These two also really hated each other in their past lives when they were in Mara’s court so making them friends as Guardians is quite cathartic for me.

This took forever and I lost motivation to finish it the way I wanted so here’s as far as I got...😭 

This was inspired by an old tweet I chatted with @thebig-chillqueen on and it kinda evolved from there. XD Even though this type of crossover would be very unlikely to happen without some inter dimensional time travel shiz…:P (*cough*Osiris*cough*)

Originally it was just Saint-14 and Genji talking about their lovely borbs but I’ve seen the cute stickers of Genji eating ramen and couldn’t help but think Cayde-6 would have loved to take Genji to his favorite spicy ramen shop. :P So we have Cayde, Genji, and Saint enjoying some ramen while Saint admires sparrows(not the hover bike but the actual bird) for the first time. (let’s just pretend Cayde isn’t dead, ok? Ok.)

Cayde, no offense, but pretty sure Genji has had the real deal, not sure if Last City ramen would be up to par. Next step would be Genji dragging the space cowboy to Hanamura in the OW universe for some REAL ramen. And then dumping his ass off on McCree cuz the two gunslingers would probably get along swimmingly.

Guess who caught up on Welcome to Night Vale and binged all of The Magnus Archives? 8D Needless to say I’m a sucker for crossovers and I’ve been reading fanfiction because reasons...One scene from Friendship ended with worms, Now centipedes are my best friend by  Toasted_RiceCake has become my favorite headcanon for Cecil and Jon meeting:

“ Who are you?” Jon asked immediately, rubbing his wrists.

The man smiled serenely, green and purple eyes locked in competition as he shook Jon’s hand “Cecil Palmer, community radio host of this lovely town. The Voice of Night Vale. And you? ”

“Jonathan Sims, the Archivist.” Jon’s answer was immediate, eyebrows shooting downwards as he realized what had happened, “... of the Magnus Institute.”

“Here’s something odd, listeners. There appears to be some interlopers entering town. But something is...DIFFERENT about these ones. Perhaps Carlos and I should investigate this.”

Just a quick little doodle. Basically just a separate little AU where I just think it would have been cool if Mallory HAD found out about Billy. Might have taken her some time to adjust but I think she’d eventually come around. And Billy would be ecstatic to have someone to talk about fashion and celebrity gossip with. I doubt she’d keep the pirate hat, as it’s not very fashionable, so they’d need something else for her to see him. Canon-wise it’d probably be some jewelry or trinket but her canon jacket reminds me a lot of his stage jacket sooo...

Although he’d probably never let ANYONE actually take it.

Started out as a simple sketch but I added more to it. Not quite happy with it but meh.

Felt nostalgic after The Lie quest and played some D1 to visit Felwinter Peak. So I drew Blue in Iron Lord armor. That’s was pretty much my default armor in D1 after Rise of Iron came out. I don’t see Blue as the Young Wolf or as an Iron Lord but I imagine she spent a great deal of time in the PlagueLands during the SIVA crisis to help eradicate the infestation. Of course, her typical Warlock armor isn’t equipped for the cold and while Polaris could probably just resurrect her each time she dies of hypothermia I’d imagine that would become severely inconvenient rather quickly. So she’d invest in the more insulated Iron Lord armor. And OF COURSE Polaris would insist on getting the Iron Song shell just so he could match his beloved Guardian. ❤
