He initiates touch again. Did he decide not to hide his feelings as much? Did he give up on them so it doesn't matter? Did he convince himself he's in love with El so it doesn't scare him as much? Who knows, but whatever it is

This arc did have closure. It might not have been overt as a paying-off-hug, but it wasn't just about hugs. Mike was keeping his distance, something changed, and he isn't anymore.
