Hey y’all should start commenting on YouTube videos & potentially send them emails asking them to caption their videos. Sometimes their viewers will, but usually then it turns into CRAPtions (unnecessary commentary ruining the captioning). Or, even worse CRAPtioning, is the automated YouTube bullshit. In the end, they’ll get more views, which actually benefits them.

So do the HOH/Deaf communities a favor and start contacting YouTubers repeatedly asking them to take the 10 extra minutes to caption their videos before posting.

Deaf people are so radiant and hard of hearing people are just so glorious and beautiful and you are perfect exactly as you are and you should never EVER feel self conscious of your voice. You are a gift.

I really want to get more involved in the deaf community and I am not sure how to do that. I have been deaf my whole life and I am just now wanting to get more involved with with the deaf culture and learn more about it. Anyone have any ideas for me on how to do that?

I wear a hearing aid but I still deal with this most of the time.

Seriously you have no idea how many assholes we deafies run into, how this is a very common experience for us all. At least, the look on their face after I told them that I’m deaf is very priceless. But, sometimes I walk away having no idea that someone yelled at me. :/ ((and, yes, comic me is interrupting the comic to play pokemon go.))
