It could be a nightmare, or it could just be a normal dream that had not been everything he hoped it would. The hands would then hold Keith’s in a firm, warm, and steady grip, and lead him away from his own thoughts and into someone else’s world. This world was full of all kinds of things, from mermaids and fairies to fire-breathing dragons and sentient sea water trying to drown him. These dreams quickly became preferable to his own, and by age nine he had already figured out two things.

One: as long as he held onto the hands, he would never be harmed, and there was no need to be scared. Two: the mysterious hands were the closest thing he had ever had to a family.

In the infinite vastness of both space and Lance's propensity for finding trouble, it wasn't really surprising that he'd somehow discovered how to travel through time. At least, he assumed it was time travel that had taken him back to Earth, stranded in the desert a year before they'd discovered Voltron. But least six of Lance’s favourite movies deal with time travel, so he knows the basics: don’t let anyone know he’s from the future and don’t try to change anything. However, neither of those are as easy as they sound, particularly when he finds himself staying with an angry and freshly expelled Keith, who has a lot of questions and an even more embarrassing haircut than Lance remembers. Add in an unresponsive Blue Lion, increasingly suspect activity by the Garrison, and the fact that Lance has absolutely no idea how to get home, and the fate of the universe is starting to look like it may be in trouble. ———— Keith’s had a lot of secrets, told a lot of lies in his life. But pretending not to remember Lance? That was the most difficult one of all.

It was supposed to be a simple mission for Keith and Lance - get in, scout weird underground base, and get out. With the lack of any biological signatures, they’d assumed the base was abandoned and empty. It wasn’t. Now Keith was badly injured and could not move on his own, and Lance needed to get him and get out before anything worse can happen - all while avoiding the strange and luminescent creatures that seemed to only exist in the corners of their eyes. Their soft, surreal beauty belied a dangerous nature - as Keith had discovered - and the only way they could survive was to get out without waking them from their drifting lethargy.

But as long as he has Blue, the two of them won’t rest in their search for new Paladins to reform Voltron. Being captured by the galra is just a temporary setback.

Lance wakes up in bed to plain painted walls and the sun shining through large tinted windows. His name is Gabriella Espinosa and as a resident of Grand Ridge Mental Health Hospital, he’s as far from the war against the Galra as possible. In this version of Earth, Voltron doesn’t exist.

But he keeps having visions of an Altean prince and his husband. He sees through the prince’s eyes, feels his emotions, and knows without a doubt that they’re somehow true. And if he can figure out the reason behind them, then maybe he can finally go home. Then Akira arrives, achingly familiar in all the wrong ways and Lance, for once, wants things to go his way.
