Arthur Achleitner, was born on the  23rd of June, 2003 in Hartberg. He was a young man which grew up in Austria. Arthur lived in Karsdorf near Graz, together with his sibling, cat and Mom, while his father had left the family years earlier.  That absence seemed to have had a significant emotional impact on him, leaving Arthur in a household where he felt disconnected or unsupported.

On the surface, he was experiencing profound psychological turmoil. He struggled with feelings of alienation, a sense of social rejection, and bullying. YES HE WAS EFFING BULLIED! Let's NOT deny this! One time his classmates even pulled down his pants in front of everyone, and pured some Cocoa-drink over his genitals, to expose him. Arthur called himself  "femboy", a subcultural identity often associated with young men who embrace femininity in appearance and behavior. This exploration of identity, while not inherently problematic, appeared in Arthur’s case to be bound up with shame, social anxiety, and internal conflict. These struggles were compounded by his isolation. Arthur reportedly had few friends, minimal social interaction, and no apparent access to mental health support. He became a deeply lonely person.

At some point, Arthur began spending a significant amount of time online, and this virtual world became a substitute for the real one. Although Austrian authorities initially reported that Arthur had no social media accounts, private investigations revealed other things.

According to gaming community records and investigative redditors, Arthur used the alias “zenie” "z3nie",... onmultiple platforms. A reddit thread identified a Steam profile linked to valorant stats that matched a “zenie” user ID, and even a Tumblr account where he posted under “zenie”.

Reddit investigators compiled around 14 distinct online profiles, many of which were since deleted or banned. One included aTwitter account created in 2020 with only a single surviving post, but followed by Valorant-related accounts, suggesting it once had more content. 

The Discord handle “zenie#1831,” complete with a profile picture tied to Dylan Klebold, one of the Columbine shooters. 

A Steam profile at 76561198210368431, linked to his Valorant gaming stats. 

One user summarized,

“I’ve built up a list of 14 online profiles so far (many deleted though)… @z3nie (zenie#1831)… the profile picture is Dylan Klebold's body.” 

Additionally, archiving services found that his Tumblr account featured an avatar and posts signed “Arthur!!!” under the tag “artur a” or “zenie.” One saved image included a picture of Griffith from the anime Berserk, which had been used as the profile photo for a “zenie125” YouTube channel. 

The choice of Dylan Klebold imagery and the name “zenie” combined with postings about Griffith suggest he intentionally crafted a persona aligned with iconic violent or mentally tormented figures. This reinforces the video’s portrayal of someone seeking an identity rooted in extreme narratives.

He was active within certain online communities, especially gaming spaces and fringe internet forums.He seems to have encountered radical ideologies and toxic narratives. These included themes of nihilism, incel culture, and violent revenge fantasies, all of which have been linked to previous perpetrators of mass violence. (Samantha rupnow for example) He was known to be active in the gaming world, particularly in the online game Valorant, and his name appeared in various competitive tracking platforms, indicating a sustained level of involvement in that community. However, this space also have contributed to his increasing detachment from real-world relationships and accountability.

In the period leading up to the attack, Arthur was clearly in a state of psychological collapse. He meticulously planned an act of violence.On the 11th of June in Graz, he attacked  the school "BORG"  Dreierschützengasse. He killed 10 people, before turning the gun on himself. 30 more people were injured. Arthur left behind a chilling set of items. A video for his mom, a handwritten suicide note, and even a homemade pipe bomb. All of this suggests that Arthur fully intended not only to commit mass murder, but also to die in the process. His death was not an accident or the result of police intervention, it was a planned suicide following the act.

In a YouTube video called “Die bittere Wahrheit hinter dem Fall Arthur A.” (“The Bitter Truth Behind the Case of Arthur A.”) presents a sobering portrait of a young man who fell through every crack in the system. It argues that there were clear warning signs.Isolation, psychological distress, and potential radicalization. Yet no one intervened. Neither schools, nor family, nor the wider society around him stepped in to offer meaningful help.

Arthur Achleitner’s story is not one of pure evil or random violence, it is a case study in neglect, disconnection, and the consequences of ignoring psychological suffering.
