After All I Drifted Ashore

T, WIP, 4k, Wangxian
Summary: "And how do we even know if this Grandmaster would help us?" The thing is, Nie Huaisang really doesn't know. The Wei-Xiong he knew had been kind and ever-willing to aid whoever was in need, but Wei-Xiong had been vilified and cornered by the world after he had ceased to be of use. Had been ambushed on his way to meet his supposed family, left with no one and nothing until the only way out was to remove himself from the land. Wei-Xiong doesn't owe any of them his aid, doesn't owe them anything at all. "We don't know," he says as much, "But at this point, do we still have the luxury of choice?" After the Yiling Patriarch surrendered the Stygian Tiger Seal, Lanling Jin rules the entirety of the Cultivation World as Wen Ruohan once sought to do. What is left of the Sects try to fight back by seeking the help of a powerful Grandmaster across the sea. Kay's comments: Listen. I am very weak for stories where Wei Wuxian decides to leave the cultivation world behind him for good and this story is so wonderfully written, with him handing Jin Guangshan the Yin Tiger Tally and then leaving with the Wens and the cultivation world having to live with the consequences of their actions. We love to see it. Excerpt: The doors swings open one last time before the person coming in seals it - A faint blanket of qi washing over them before he joins them on the table, folding himself gracefully beside Huaisang. "Hanguang-Jun," Huaisang bows in his seat, even as Jiang Wanyin and Jiang Yanli stiffen across him. Lan Wangji does not even spare his brother a glance. The years of Jin Guangshan's reign has not been kind to any of them, and yet Lan Wangji seemed almost untouched by everything - His countenance serene and aloof and seemingly unmarred by grief despite the mourning whites of his robes. He thinks it might be fair, as Lan Wangji had been the only one of them to oppose Jin Guangshan and advocate for Wei-Xiong from the very start. Lan Wangji does not have to live with the burden of not doing anything as their world fell into the clutches of the Jins, even as he does the most to aid it after the world burned, being where the chaos is, where the Jin cultivators don't deign to go and the Sects are too preoccupied to even give a fuck.
pov alternating, canon divergence, wen remnants live, wei wuxian lives, canon divergence - ambush at qiongqi path, mutual pining, cultivation sect politics, mystery, political drama, secret identity, identity reveal

Wen Kexing calling himself âPhilanthropist Wenâ is actually an important detail, I think. Heâs afraid that Zhou Zi Shu will hate him for who he really is to the point we know he said he will rather die than reveal who he is and we all kow it is something that haunts him so âphilanthropistâ is the exact opposite of his true image. In a flirty way, Wen Kexing is trying on the version of himself he wants Zhou Zishu to see. At the same time, by labeling Zhou Zishu as âKiller Zhou,â heâs projecting his own darkness onto ZZS, almost as if to test how Zhou Zi Shu will react or to say, âyouâre no better than me, so youâll accept me anyway.â

In Word of Honor, ep 14 18:00
Wen Kexing quites lines from a poem called "The wind and the rain" from book of songs(the oldest existing collection of Chinese poetry. It includes poems covering a range of topics, such as folk songs, courtly rituals, and dynastic hymns.)

And I searched it up in google and I think the whoever where in charge of cenorship in this series either blind or a BL fan:

when he's not breaking gao tu's heart, shen wenlang is fucking hilarious. every moment of his shit talking to hua yong was pure gold. when he was avoiding talking about paying hua yong back by wishing them a happy life and encouraging him to get shayou pregnant, i was wheezing.

Oh I WONDER....

.... who COULD BE his star crossed lover.
Definitely not someone as stupid as the biggest clown in this show, right?
I really do wonder.

Damn, what a bad AIRCON.

Hua Yong
knows everything about Gao Tu.
He knows that Gao Tu is hiding
that he's an omega.
He knows
that Gao Tu is in love with Shen Wen Lang.
And he knows
that Shen Wen Lang is in love with Gao Tu
but just can't admit it.
