If you're reading this you're probably here because of the Protocol ARGhival post. Fair warning that I do not tag stuff and most of the content here is disability, mental health stuff and untagged Protocol spoilers. Otherwise I'm simply a lurker here.

Okay so I may or may not be a staunch Jon/Jonah shipper after this fic
They offer a kind of toxicity I crave and was not getting from Jmart, their angst comes from guilt and it feels oppressive in the not fun and majorly depressing way
I, on the other hand, prefer when fucked up weirdoes make eachother worse, the author put my exact feelings perfectly into words so here you are
Tumblr media
No fairy tale endings for me I want Jon to embrace his inhumanity please <3

An important lesson we can learn from plants, especially those considered "weeds", is that if a system does not work for you, grow around it.
Dandelions cannot thrive trapped under a concrete roof, so they twist and spread and sprout between the cracks.
Tree roots will find their way through foundations and bricks to feed the tree.
Brambles will climb up and over fences designed to keep them out, if what's beyond let's them grow.
A sunflower in a pot will face the sun, not the room it's owner so desperately wants it to decorate.
Do what you need to do to thrive, irregardless of what others think you should do.

We do NOT need more ableism in the psych field omfg, there's already enough people in the psych field who are awful to mentally ill & other disabled people, and get away with it because 'they're the professionals!'.
Genuinely, if you want to go into psychology, the BARE MINIMUM is to treat mentally ill & disabled people with kindness and patience. If you can't do that much, I can pretty much guarantee that you will end up hurting someone you were entrusted to help.
Calling people ableist slurs or variants of ableist slurs, regardless of the reason for it- yes even if they are doing something genuinely wrong- is doing the opposite of that. It is punching down not just at whoever it was directed at, but every other disabled & mentally ill person that slur is used to hurt. It is showing all of us that slur is used against that you see something that is directly tied to us and our existence, that is used to dehumanize us, as an acceptable way to insult people.

Watched a great talk today about web/technology accessibility, and the speaker pointed out that yes, accessibility is important for people with permanent disabilities, and we should definitely care about that. But also accessibility helps EVERYBODY, because everybody will, at some point in their lives, find themselves in situations that accessible technology can help with. Here are permanent, temporary, and situational disabilities that accessible technology can help with:
Tumblr media
Remember that whether something is disabling or not depends on the situation, the environment, the technology, etc. We’re ALL disabled at some point. It is important to support permanently disabled people, but it is also important to remember that accessibility helps us all!

I do want to note that the whole "women are allowed to dress masculine and wear trousers" thing needs to be viewed in its historical context:
People fought for generations to be allowed to dress that way. They fought hard to be allowed to wear pants. Blue jeans were a symbol of feminist revolution. Women were barred from workplaces and schools for wearing them.
This is not some a natural fact that women dressing masculine is less shocking and humiliating. That normalization was fought for and hard-won.
And yet so many people erase the struggles of those people who fought to make that happen and pretend that it's just normal and natural that people don't see women "dressed like men" as ridiculous.
The Marriage of Figaro has what's called a "breeches role" which is a woman wearing men's clothes playing am ale role. This was done partly due to the vocal range requirements, but in many cases it was done comedically. It was risque and sexualized or comic relief that a woman was dressed as a man.
Tumblr media
Anti-suffragette posters mock women wearing pants - well they were bloomers and split skirts back then - and mocking more masculine cut styles of clothes. This was meant to portray this as ridiculous.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They mocked the "new woman" in Weimar Germany, lamenting that they were too masculine.
This is a political cartoon from the 1920s depicting a woman in masculine dress deciding which bathroom to use:
Tumblr media
Sorry but you're erasing these struggles and flattening history when you say this shit.
Women were killed and institutionalized in the struggle to make this happen. It really fucking bothers me the way it's framed as "people just don't find it as weird when women dress masculine."
Yes they fucking did. Until women and transmasculine people fought for their right to wear what they want. It's normalized because people struggled to normalize it.
And it's not normal everywhere. There are many countries where it's still illegal for women to wear pants. Sudan, Saudi Arabia.
Even in the US, it's forbidden and considered ridiculous in groups like the FLDS, the Amish, and the Hutterites.
We are flattening and erasing the struggles of women when we say these things. I know we're trying to build theory here but you can't build solid theory on a foundation of lies.

i think you can recognize that the usage of ai by students of all grades and all around the world to cheat through their assignments is not a personal moral failing but just yet another symptom of the mechanistic if not, at this point, basically dehumanized processes of our education systems which are nowadays almost solely focused on demanding production from students and churning out degrees required for jobs while ignoring any tangible verification of their actual knowledge, intellectual development and critical thinking skills, much less their mental health, while also pointing out that using ai to write your essay isn't a power move to cheat a flawed system, it is behaving exactly as the system designed, it is cheating yourself by giving up your ability to speak, think for and challenge yourself and bowing your head to powers who will only benefit from not being questioned, and the only reason text genai is so widespread right now is because it was born on the perfect breeding ground that is anti intellectualism

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

A bus may have only a couple of passengers, especially at the beginning or end of its route. But let's also take fuel efficiency into account.

The stripes on the top flag are dull navy blue, faded purple, light plum, coral pink, and light gold. The stripes on the bottom flag are dark blue, mauve, faded reddish-orange, peach, and light gold. The colors repeat inversely on the bottom of both. END ID.]
Satelladeo
(PT: Satelladeo)
An alterhuman term where you are not a god or higher power yourself, but are intrinsically linked to one in some way. This can be as a devotee, an aspect of the power, a manifestation of their divinity/power, etc. The link can be voluntary change, an inherent aspect of one's existence, or an unwanted apotheosis.
Despite the name, satelladeo is not exclusive to beings linked to gods; any higher power or otherworldly force falls under the umbrella. Satelladeo often falls under the divinekin umbrella, but not inherently.
Some examples of this include:
Manifestations/Avatars of the Entities from The Magnus Archives
Embodiments of divine power that aren't direct gods themselves
Worshippers of a higher power that have merged with or inherited its power in some way
Angels that consider themselves aspects of their god's power
Certain godshard identities
The individual term for beings who identify with this is satellite(s), based on both the original meaning of attendant/follower, and the idea of orbiting around a greater force.
