I understand the need to defend your boy, but a post calling out the racism in the kotlc community in not the time or place, especially considering that he is not the main focus of my post, nor do I insult him in any way. Perhaps consider blocking that tag, so we don't have a similar problem in the future, which is the reason why I added it in the first place.

the fact that the kotlc fandom is constantly whining about Dex being underrated while turning a blind eye to other characters of the main cast who are twice as forgotten and underdevelopped, such as Wylie, Linh or Maruca, is rooted in racism and misogyny but I can't prove it

this fandom is so bad sometimes bc for a fandom surrounding a book istg no one actually reads posts half the time. tagging a post "anti character x" just as a precaution because you're slightly criticizing a character doesn't mean that op automatically has a bad take because YOU like the character or no one has ever used the "anti character x" tag before.

also considering the original post was about the lack of page time for certain poc characters in comparison to a white character who gets considerably more page time but still has people complaining about him not showing up in the books... i fear focusing on the white guy in this situation makes you part of the problem

in order to unlearn racism u have to be willing to accept that u are racist. it’s not a bad thing to want to change for the better. it’s not a bad thing to say hey, the way i’ve been acting is racist and i don’t want to be racist anymore. when people of color are telling u ways in which u have been racist, it’s actually not cool to brush it off and say, well i didn’t mean it that way.. u actually have to make an effort to stop doing those things if u want to be able to actually say ur anti-racist. u can’t just say ur not racist because u don’t wanna be seen as racist. that’s not how unlearning racism works.
