It is among the cheapest projectors that provide full 4K resolution (UHD), backed up with HDR compatibility and a brightness claim of 3000 lumens. The additional features of UHD60 are great and make the projector very competitive in market of low priced 4K projectors. Along with providing excellent picture quality and sharpness, the projector offers respectable platform for gamers as well. Although it’s been quite a while since the launch of the projector, it’s still among good affordable 4K projectors providing some great picture quality and features. A traditional VGA port is also provided for analog computer output, a pair of stereo audio jacks for input and output. A pair of USB, a digital audio jack and a 12 volt screen trigger.
Tumblr media
Visual Specs
The Optoma UHD60 True 4K UHD Projector uses the 0.66-inch version of TI’s 4K DLP chips. Although, it has only 2716 x 1528 mirrors but by moving the mirrors really fast, the chip is said to achieve full 4K resolution. It comes with a color wheel of 5 segments (RGBCY). It offers great additional features, such as Optoma’s Pure Motion. It helps to provide more smoothness and flow to your content and works pretty well on UHD60. It also provides the Ultra Detail feature which further enhances the perceived sharpness and detail. For black level performance, the projector has the Dynamic Black feature which uses the lamp dimming technique to provide lower black levels. Some additional features include the Optoma’s BrilliantColor feature with multiple settings, Pure Color and Pure Contrast. The picture quality of UHD60 is brilliant. The brightness and color contrast is amazing, along with exceptional details and sharpness. The picture quality is quiet engaging out of the box but you might want to change a few settings according to your requirements and taste. If you are bothered by the noise of the projector, try turning off the Ultra Resolution which is set to 1 by default from a scale of 0 to 3, which will help to reduce the noise. Looking at the out of the box HDR performance of the projector, it will impress many; Projectorpoint. The picture looks stunning, along with providing excellent color balance and contrast, the picture gives the natural feel. You might want to stick with HDR picture mode to have the best possible outcome for HDR. You will find a lengthy list of picture preset modes which works very well, the highlighted ones are Cinema for standard dynamic range content, HDR mode for obviously HDR and Game preset for minimizing input lag for gaming. The game picture preset works fine in reducing the input lag but not sufficient for some fast-paced games and could hinder your experience. So generally it provides good gaming experience unless you are a serious gamer and can’t tolerate smallest of the lags in fast-paced games. Some of the limitations in terms of its visual specs are that the Optoma UHD60 True 4K UHD Projector is not 3D compatible. The other issue is with its Bright mode which provides the most brightness outcome but it is tilted towards green and due to this reason will be useless for many users unless they don’t mind that greenish picture. As I have already mentioned above, the Ultra Resolution feature increases the noise especially in HDR and you might want to turn it off. As a DLP projector you might be affected with rainbow artifacts if you are too sensitive to it; Hometheaterreview.
Tumblr media
Price
The Optoma UHD60 True 4K UHD Projector is currently available to buy from these platforms; Optoma.

What Size Home Projector Screen Should Be
Imagine buying and installing your projector and screen. You sit down and turn your projector on to enjoy your home theater but you are unable to find the right distance or angle to enjoy your home theater. You just might have chosen a screen size which is too small to enjoy your home theater to its fullest or you simply have too large of a screen to a point, that you start having headaches. Selecting the right screen size can be a little tricky while setting up your home theater. You will find different calculations and calculators online to find the right size for your screen. It is not necessary they will work for you, as many of the screen size aspects vary from viewers to viewers. Also check out how to setup a home projector – Click Here. There are many factors involved in choosing the right screen size. Like, how big is your wall, how far is your sitting arrangements, how many people will be viewing, etc. So for choosing the right screen size you should make sure you consider all these factors before finalizing your screen. The more knowledge on different aspects of visual experience will help you finalize your screen size. Following are a few notes you should keep in mind while selecting the right screen size for your home theater setup:
Measuring Your Room
The first step while selecting the right screen size is by measuring the wall or the place where you are looking to install your projector screen. Make sure there is ample space for your desired screen to fit in. Measure the distance between your sitting position and where you will install your projector screen, this will give you a rough idea about how large your screen should be with accordance to your room. Usually you will find around 100-120 inches diagonal screen sizes, which is popular and works well for 16:9 widescreen. But this can be subjective to your room size and sitting arrangements.
Check The Resolution And Aspect Ratio Of Your Projector
Your projector’s resolution plays an important part on your screen size. More resolutions mean more pixels on the screen. Choosing a large screen for a projector with low resolution will impact the quality and sharpness of your image. It will have to expand those limited pixels in a much larger screen which will reduce the quality of the image. So make sure you have the right combination of resolution and screen size. You will require high resolution projectors if you are planning for a big screen. For choosing the right screen size you will also have to check your projectors native aspect ratio. Aspect ratio is ratio of the width to height of an image. Commonly, 16:10 widescreen, 16:9 widescreen and video format 4:3. 16:9 widescreen is the most common aspect ratio available for home theaters. Different aspect ratios can bring a change in your experience and comfort levels; as it changes the height and width of the display on screen. You might not want a large screen for 4:3 as compared to 16:9 or 16:10.
Lumens And Its Effect On Screen Size
While selecting the screen size, you should also check the lumens of your projector. The brightness of a projector is measured in ANSI lumens. For home theaters you may require around 1000 to 3000 lumens projector, depending upon the ambient light and screen size. For every square-foot of screen surface you may require at least 80 lumens of projector intensity.
Vertical And Horizontal Viewing Angles
Let’s talk about vertical viewing angle first. Your screen size and placement should be arranged in a manner that the center of your screen should be placed in front of your eyes. Most of the action takes place in the center of your screen, this is the reason it is the starting point for calculating optimal height. Most of the people find it comfortable when the optimal height is around 35 degrees. If you are trying to setup home theater for a larger audience make sure your screen size and position allows you to remain within the comfort level for all of your audience. The other important factor to consider is the horizontal angles. Again, just like the vertical angles, make sure your size and position of screen is comfortable for viewers sitting on horizontal angles. The viewing angle or sweet spot is usually 40 degrees. Anyone sitting outside the 40 degree angle may feel discomfort. So your screen size and horizontal sitting arrangements should be balanced.
The Distance Between Your Sitting Arrangement And Your Screen
Although you can find many calculators online but you can never jump to a final or conclusive answer in this regard. The reason is because the perfect spot varies from person to person. You will need to find out the best possible solution which suits you or is generally comfortable for most of the viewers. Your sitting arrangement will also give you an idea of how large your screen should be, you don’t want to install a small screen if your sitting arrangement is too far away from your screen or too big if your sitting arrangements is too close to your screen. Make sure you are considering all viewers that would be on the farthest and closest seat to your screen if you have a bigger audience.
Finally
I hope the article helps you have a clearer picture on selecting the right size for your screen. Though many of the aspects are related to your own preferences and setup, but the idea is to give you an outline on the topic so it is much easier for you to buy the perfect screen size. You can also set an appointment with a professional if you are still uncertain about the right screen size. After spending money and time on your home theater you would want it to be as close to perfect as possible.

How To Setup A Home Projector
Projectors are not as simple as setting up your TV. For ensuring the best home theater experience you should make sure everything is perfectly installed and placed. Setting up your projector for the first time can be a little frustrating and demanding. But once you get used to it, it will be much easier for you to manage. After you have properly installed your projector the overwhelming excitement and experience of your home theater will overtake any exhaustion. In this article we will discuss the basics on how to set up your home projector so it is easier and convenient for you. Following are some helpful tips for setting and enhancing your home theater experience:
Setting Up Your Screen
The first step is to setup your projector screen. You can either buy projector screens or make your own projector screen if you want. Make sure it is properly aligned and is not tilted. Try to setup your screen in a place with less ambient light if you have a projector with less lumens. If you are planning to install a rear projection projector (which is common function in modern projectors); you will have to set your projection screen accordingly. Make sure you have ample space behind your projection screen to setup your projector for rear projection. Also go and look at how to make home projector screen – Click Here.
Setting Up Your Projector
After you have finalized the position of your screen; it’s time to place your projector. You will want to place your projector at a place where there is no obstruction between the projector and the screen. You can fix your projector on the ceiling or place it on horizontal angles, but you have to make sure that your projector is capable of aligning and adjusting to horizontal or vertical angles. Make sure you read the complete manual and specifications of your projector, to know its capabilities. The other important part while setting up your projector is the throw distance. You can find the throw distance of your projector in the manual or specifications. You will have to place your projector with respect to its throw distance. If you have issues of space in your room, you might want to go for Ultra short throw (UST) projectors. They can be a bit more expensive but are great if you have problems of space in your room or home.
Connect Necessary Wires And Cables
Once you are finished with setting up your screen and projector. Start connecting your power cables and other necessary wires into your projector. Apart from connecting your power cables to your projector, make sure the source of media is properly connected and turned on. You will mostly require a HDMI cable to connect your projector with the source of media, which can be your cable box, game console, etc. When you are sure everything is properly connected switch on your projector.
Align And Adjust Your Projection
Once your projector starts running and displaying images; you will have to align and adjust your projection. For aligning your projection you may find a built-in feature in your projector, you can also download images online or use setup disks for this purpose. Use zoom and focus controls to make sure your picture is clear. One method of doing it is by running some images with small text. While adjusting your zoom and focus controls, ask a friend or family member to stop you when it’s sharp and readable.
Selecting Your Picture Type And Enhancing Your Picture Quality
Just like your TV’s you will find different picture preset for your projectors. You will have to choose the right preset according to your requirement. Usually “cinema” mode provides better results if you have a dark room. But under ambient lights you might want to change your picture preset according to your comfort. Just play and experiment a little with your picture preset to find the best projection result. This will also help you understand different options of picture preset so you will have an idea of what settings to use for different types of media. You may also find brightness, color saturation and other image options to adjust them manually. You might also want to take a look at your aspect ratio if you find your projection to be too narrow or too wide. Usually 16:9 aspect ratio works fine for most of the content.
3D Projector Setup
If you are setting your projector for 3d viewing you will require Active Shutter glasses. You will have to look into the recommendations of the manufacturer for best 3d glasses for the projector. Most of the projectors will detect your 3D content and adjust the brightness and other options accordingly. But you might want to do some minor changes in your settings if you are not fully satisfied with the result.
Sound System
After you are done with your visual settings, it’s time to setup your sound system. Although you will find many projectors with built-in sound systems but they are usually of mediocre quality. When you are buying projectors and screens to enhance your home theater experience you would want your sound system to be at par with your visual experience. Adding surround sound systems can greatly enhance your home theater experience. Also if you are setting up your home theater for large number of people, you will require a clearer and louder audio system than the one in your projector. Make sure you adjust your sound system properly. Run some media with great audio and adjust your speakers so you have a better surround sound experience.
You Are Ready To Enjoy Your Home Theater
Now when you are done with setting up your projectors, it’s time to relax and enjoy your home theater. Turn your lights off for a better home theater experience.

But projector screens cannot always be viable for all of us. Having a limited budget or limited space in the room can cause excluding of projector screen from our shopping cart. You might also want to build a customized home projector screen according to your needs. Hanging pieces of clothes or projecting on just any wall without smooth surface can hinder your home theater experience. In this article, we will discuss ways of creating your home theater screens with DIY methods. Also go and look at how to choose home projector – Click Here.
DIY Home Projector Screen
There are many ways you can build your home projector screen. The best option depends upon the use and specifications of your projector. You can either: 1. Paint your wall 2. Build a fixed screen 3. Or build a portable screen Following is a detailed process on how to make your projector screen using these methods.
Making Projector Screen by Painting Your Wall
If you are looking for a fixed place for the use of your projector, you can make a projector screen by painting your wall. Although it could be the easier way of making projector screen but it will limit the use of projector to a certain room or angle. So if you have a fixed place for your projector and you won’t be moving it around to other rooms or outdoors you can simply paint your wall to make your own projector screen. Here is how you can make your projector screen by painting your wall: 1) The first step is by selecting the wall where you want your display. Make sure there is unobstructed view between your wall and your projector. 2) Next thing is to check for any holes or damaged surface on the wall, especially the area of your screen. You need to fix and smooth out these areas for better results. You can use skim coat to level and fix any type of damage or holes in the wall. 3) It would be better to use two types of paint. One for the wall and the other for the area of your screen. Make sure you select paints with good contrast so your screen is more noticeable. 4) Paint your entire wall, make sure you are using right type of paint to get smooth surface. You might want to double coat your wall for better results. After you are finished with your paint switch-on your projector and mark the screen area on the wall. 5) After marking your screen area, it’s time to paint your screen area. Make sure you are using the right color according to your projector. Double coat your screen area for more smoothness on the surface. 6) To help absorb extra light and to make your screen look more attractive, use velvet projector border tape on the borders of your screen area.
Making a Fixed Projector Screen
If you are not a big fan of painting your walls or you want to have your walls remain the way they are. You can look in to the option of creating a fixed projector screen. Following are the steps to make your own fixed projector screen: 1) Your fixed projector screen will look more like a frame, so the first step it to select the wall where you will fix this frame. 2) Once you have decided the area where you will install the frame, it’s time to check your screen size. Turn on your projector and check your native aspect ratio. Measure and note down your screen size. 3) Gather the necessary tools and material to build your fixed projector screen. You will require four pine boards, screws, stapler, blackout cloth and screwdriver etc. 4) Start building your frame with the pine boards using the measurement of your screen. Make sure your frame is aligned properly and is not tilted towards one side. 5) Once your frame is ready, it’s time to attach the piece of blackout cloth. Use staplers in appropriate distance so your blackout cloth is tightened properly. Get rid of any wrinkles while stapling. 6) Use velvet projector tapes on the borders of your frame to absorb any unnecessary lights. Make sure you are covering your staples with the tape too. 7) Fix picture hangers on the back of your frame and add hooks to your walls where you will hang your frame.
Making A Portable Projector Screen
If you are looking to move around your projector to different places in your home or use it outdoors. You can even make your own portable projector screen. Following steps will help you build your own portable screen: 1) For a portable projector screen you will require PVC pipes, materials for sewing, a large cloth piece, and a piece of blackout cloth for your actual screen. 2) Measure your projector screen size on the piece of cloth and mark it with a pencil. 3) Place your PVC pipes on the measurement you took on the cloth. This will make it look like a frame. You can add elbow pipes on the horizontal sides of your PVC pipes and fix them with vertical sides of the PVC pipes for more stability. Wrap the cloth around your PVC pipe and sew them tightly. 4) Now you will have a light weight portable frame ready. 5) It’s time to place your blackout cloth, on top of the normal piece of cloth you used for sewing the PVC pipes. You can use a large blackout cloth so you can wrap it around the whole frame and staple or sew it on the back. Make sure your blackout cloth is wrinkle free and tight. 6) Your portable projector screen is ready for indoor and outdoor use.

How To Choose Home Projector
When choosing the right home projector for your needs, there are several things that you should keep in mind before finalizing your equipment. To get the best possible results from a projector, it is mandatory to know the requirements and the place where you are willing to use the projector. It is not necessary that a certain brand or a projector with certain specifications, working great for someone you know will also work great for you. It depends on room size, lighting and many other factors. But most importantly and the first step towards choosing the best projector is choosing the right type of projector technology. Usually there are two main types of projector technologies which are used by the home audience. The first DLP projectors and the second are LCD projectors. After selecting the right type of projector technology, it’s time to look at other specifications of projectors which will help you to attain the best possible projection results. Also go and look at how does home projector work – Click Here. Following are a few questions you need to ask yourself before identifying the best projector for your needs:
How much brightness do I need?
To get the best possible result from your projector, first you need to identify the amount of brightness you require from your projector. Projectors works differently under lights as compare to dark rooms. You will have to select the right projector according to the ambient lights on your room. The brightness of the projector is measured in lumens. Usually you will find projectors ranging from around 800 to 3000 lumens. If the room for your home theater is dark or there is no ambient light, you can select projectors with less lumen. But if you are looking for projectors which can work great under lights or you have placed your projector in a place which has plenty of ambient light, you should consider projectors with high lumens. It also gives you a smooth and uninterrupted experience while watching your video, etc. Sometimes you have to open light or someone might open your door or window, so projectors with high lumens make sure your experience is great throughout.
What is the distance between my screen and projector?
One of the most important factors in achieving the best projection result is choosing the right projector, according to the measurement of the distance between your projector and your screen. You have to check the throw distance in specifications of your projector. Make sure you are choosing the right type of projector according to your specific needs. Projectors are divided into two categories when it comes to throw distance. Long throw distance and short throw distance, projectors. Long throw distance as specified by its name has a long throw distance, and may require a lot of space between projector and screen. While on the other hand, short throw projectors require less distance between projector and your screen. If you are looking for big screen experience in rooms where it is not possible, because of the space, you can select ultra-short throw (UST) projectors. They can be placed right beneath your screen.
Where will I place my projector?
After identifying the best projector with regards to lumens and throw back distance. It’s time to select the position of your projector. You don’t want any obstruction between your projector and your screen. Obstruction can occur in the form of furniture, etc., or simply by people moving in between the projector and your screen. It’s not such a smart idea to move around your whole furniture or ask people to stop walking in front of your projector; it’s better to choose a projector which can be aligned to horizontal or vertical angles so it could be more convenient for you and people, who have to move around the room. You can go for projectors which can be mounted to ceiling or projectors which you can place at the side of your screen so there is no obstruction.
How much resolution do I need?
This is typically based on your taste and your needs. The higher resolutions you go for the better projection results you will get. Usually you will require 1280 x 768 resolutions for a video with 16:9 aspect ratios. But if you are looking to play HDTVs, blu-rays or other high definition media you will have to buy projectors with high resolutions to get best possible results.
Is there anything else I need to know?
While we have discussed the main technical aspects involving in choosing the right projectors; but here are some other things which you should keep in mind: Lamp Life: The LCD and DLP projectors use lamps for light. These lamps can depreciate with time, which can affect the brightness of your projector and you might have to replace them. Consider it in your budget for maintenance. Native Aspect Ratio: The native aspect ratio is the size of your projection result or in simple words, the rectangular box in which your image or media will display. You would want to choose the right native aspect ratio to avoid or minimize the blackness on your screen. Different media is made on different aspect ratios, the closer your aspect ratio is to the media’s aspect ratio, the lesser the black spaces on your screen. Some of the common aspect ratio for projectors is 16:9, 16:10 and 4:3. The most popular aspect ratios used these days for consumer video display is 16:9; it is standard HD TV format. The 16:9 native aspect ratio projectors are designed for home experience/theaters. So you have to select the right native aspect ratio for your projector. You can watch videos and media of other native aspect ratio on your projectors as well but selecting the right specifications for yourself can reduce the black area around your image and give you a better visual experience.
Conclusion
After going through the article you will understand that the best projector for your home depends not just on the specifications of the projector but can vary on technical aspects as well. It is always better to set an appointment with a professional so he can better understand your requirements.

How Does Home Projector Work
As the technology is evolving, the use of projectors has also evolved. Once used in home only for sharing photos at some family event; now the use of home projectors have become essential for our day to day living. From playing games, watching movies, business or marketing presentation, home projectors have evolved and become an essential part for many businesses and individuals. Projectors are used for displaying presentations, slide shows, images, videos and other types of data especially to a larger crowd so it is more visible and convenient for the audience. Also go look at home projector vs TV – Click Here. There are many types of technology used in projection. In order to understand how projectors work, it is first important to understand the types of projectors commonly used. There are three main types of projectors: 1) DLP projector, or Digital Light Processing projectors 2) LCD projector, or Liquid Crystal display projectors 3) LCoS projector, or Liquid Crystal on Silicon projectors Let’s move on to these technologies, how they operate and their pros and cons.
What Is A Dlp Projector?
A DLP projector or, Digital Light Processing projector uses a chip called, DMD or Digital Micromirror Device. The idea was invented by Texas Instruments, in which light is reflected through a chip with millions of small mirrors fixed on it, the mirrors vibrates and jiggles to reflect or reject the light beams falling on it. Each pixel you see through your DLP projector is reflected by 1 mirror fixed on DMD chip. If you are looking for more advanced DLP projector you can go for the three-chip DLP projector. It uses three DMD chips which produces better results than a single-chip DLP projector. Apart from Sony, who has their own technology, most of the cinemas use DLP projectors. It is also used in businesses to deliver marketing or sales presentations etc., and in home theaters or for playing video games.
What Are Advantages of DLP Projectors?
A DLP projector produces sharp images, thanks to the limited space between the pixels. The results are also colorful with excellent contrast and contrast ratio. The usage of mirror in the chips helps reducing light loss and light output is high. The results are highly accurate with no shadows. It is also easily maintainable because of the sealed chip design.
What Are Disadvantages of DLP Projectors?
A DLP projector brings its disadvantages and limitations as well. It is not the brightest when compared to LCD technology. The numbers of pixels on the images or results are also limited to the number of mirrors on the chip. Some people may also experience rainbow effect while using DLP projectors.
What Is A LCD Projector?
A liquid crystal display projector or as commonly known LCD projectors, uses three liquid crystal panels, a lamp, prism and a filter. A polarized light (from the lamp) goes through these panels to create your final desired result. It opens and closes individual pixels to allow light to pass or block the light respectively. Which allows it to produce the desired projection. The technology is used for displaying any type of data, video or images. They are smaller and portable than other type of projector technologies.
What Are Advantages of LCD Projectors?
There are many advantages of LCD projectors, most importantly the sharpness of image. It is also brighter and has good color saturation. It is also quieter and throws less heat. Unlike DLP projectors, there are no rainbow effects in LCD projectors.
What Are Disadvantages of LCD Projectors?
Among the most common disadvantages of LCD projectors are that the pixels are more visible. It can develop dead pixels, which can hinder your projection if your projector develop too many of these dead pixels. It also depreciates quickly, hence loses image quality. It also has poorer contrast when compared to DLP projectors. It does have issues with Black color and can have problems with dust spots.
What Is A Lcos Projector?
A LCoS projector or liquid crystal on silicon projector is a mixture of DLP and LCD technologies. It uses liquid crystal chips but with mirror backing. So they reflect like DLP, and blocks lights like LCDs. It is way behind in market share when compared to DLP or LCD technologies. This is due to the size and price of the LCoS projectors. They have high resolution. Almost all the LCoS projectors starts from SXGA resolution.and higher. Sony is one of the primary manufacturers of LCoS projectors under the name SXRD. Apart from other uses, they are good for auditoriums, museums and medical education/projection.
What Are Advantages of LCoS Projectors?
LCoS projectors have high resolution, and sharper images. It also has a better contrast ratio than DLP or LCD projectors. Unlike DLP projectors, it is free from rainbow effect.
What Are Disadvantages of LCoS Projectors?
LCoS projectors are costly, and much heavier. They are not easily portable. It also loses to DLP projectors when it comes to motion blurriness. Like LCD projectors, it can also face issues of dead pixels.
What Is Your Best Option Among The Three?
The use of projectors has become very important from our day to day, home or professional life. Whether to show a formal presentation on your work or to enjoy some memorable videos or photos with family, projectors play an important part in our visual experience. So selecting the right type of projector is very important. The best option can vary on your budget and depending upon the use of the projector. As we have discussed above each type of technology have its advantages and disadvantages; you should always select the best option which best suits your requirements. You can also look for trusted brands for each projector technology, to get the maximum pros and minimum cons of that technology. Some of the leading brands are BenQ, Sony, Canon, and LG, among many others.

Home Projector VS TV
If you are unable to decide between TV and projector for your home theater, you are at the right place. In this article we will break down the different aspects you should consider while selecting TV or a projector for your home theater. Most of the people prefer TV over projectors at home but as the projection technology is upgrading rapidly. The projectors have now become much more affordable and can work wonders on limited space as well. While on the other hand TV technology is moving at fast pace as well. You can now find big screen TVs competing with projector screens. Also look at home projector vs led tv – Click Here. Without wasting further time, let us compare TV with projectors and see what will best suit your requirement:
Cost
Let’s take a look at the cost comparison first, as budget is the most important factor for making a home theater. If we put aside other elements such as technology, and focus only on the screen size compared to cost; than clearly projectors wins hands down. You can buy a mediocre projector and use a big screen size while this option is not available on TV. You will have a fix screen size and have to spend a lot of money to buy bigger TVs. So this is where projectors can be cost effective and give you that experience of big screen on low budgets. But you need to make sure that your projector’s resolution is good enough for larger screens, so you don’t have to compromise on picture quality.
Resolution
As we are moving in the era of 4k both TVs and projectors provide splendid 4k experience. There are two aspects to look at when comparing TV and projector in this regard. If you just want to compare the cost of 4k technology of TV and projectors. 4k TVs are usually cheaper when comparing to 4k projectors. So TV wins when we are just comparing the cost. But 4k technology is all about more pixels and more picture clarity, which could be best experienced in larger screens. This is where projectors kicks in because 4k projectors can be used for very large screens, where you can fully enjoy the experience of Ultra HD. So while comparing only technology cost, TV wins. And when comparing what provide better experience and platform for enjoying 4k, I will give this one to projectors.
Brightness
When we are comparing the brightness of TV and projector; TV are surely way ahead and is a clear winner. Projectors have its limitations when we talk about brightness. Usually projectors produce their light through a lamp (light bulb) which has limited life and power. Brightness of projectors are measured in lumens, if you are using a projector in a dark room with no ambient light, projector with less lumens will work great. But if you want to use your projector in a room with ambient light, you will require a projector with high lumens, and this will raise the cost of projectors. So TVs are surely the winner, because you don’t have to worry about ambient lights and almost enjoy TV under any setup, with or without lights.
Contrast
Contrast ratio in terms of your TV or projector is the ratio between the brightest white and darkest black your TV or projector can produce or reflect. Projectors have issues when it comes down to the darkest black and it relies heavily on how dark your room is. Under any sort of ambient lights, TVs will most likely give you better contrast than most of the projectors. TVs are a clear winner when comparing contrast.
Screen Size
Despite the growing size of TV screens these days, they are still far behind of projectors when comparing screen size. A 100 to 120 inch projector screen is affordable and easily available for home theaters which work great with a decent projector. So while comparing screen size, projectors are way ahead and win comprehensively.
Maintenance
Modern TVs hardly require any maintenance. They have a much longer life span when compared to projectors. Projectors need to be regularly maintained. This is due to the limited life of the projector’s lamp dust particles and the increasing of dead pixels. So you will have to consider the maintenance cost while purchasing projectors, while modern TVs require almost no maintenance. So, TV wins!
Space required
While projectors are much smaller than the TVs; the overall space required for projectors can be much bigger when including the screen and the sitting arrangement for a projector. You will also require unobstructed view between your projector and the screen. Although you can spend some more money and opt for a UST (ultra short throw) projector to shorten the distance between your projector and the screen but still TV will remain feasible for limited space. So as far as space is concerned TVs are the winner.
Installation
Installing a TV as compared to projectors is much more convenient to be short. Even the biggest of the TVs with all the weight and fragility is easily installable when compared to projectors. Projectors have many technical aspects such as throw distance, etc., to consider while installing. TVs wins 3 in a row!
Sound
Well to do justice with your home theater you would want neither a TV speaker nor a projector speaker (if it has one). The best option is to go for a high quality world wide stereo sound system so it provides great audio for your home theater. But if for some reason you have to opt between the two, TV audio is much more decent than most of the projectors with a built-in sound system. So our winner is TV again!
Our winner and final words
As you can see TV is clearly ahead and the winner, but that does not mean TV is the best option for you or everyone building a home theater. What matters the most is the personal preference and requirements, which may change from person to person.

Home Projector VS LED TV
It is not easy to decide between a home projector and an LED TV. They both have large screens, and can be used for the same purposes. However, as they are costly, a customer can’t get them both, and has to make a choice. It is best to compare the different features of both, and choose the best one.
Cost Of Both Products
Customers can easily get a good HD projector for $1,000. However, if they want high brightness, then the price of the projector can go up to $2,000. As for LED TVs, there are so many brands that produce the, which is why their price varies. Most LED TVs cost about $1,000 and above. The person who is buying a projector or an LED TV, needs to assess their everyday requirement for both devices. Comparatively, LED TV is cheaper than a projector. Check out home projector 1080p vs 4k – Click Here.
Screen Size
An LED TV comes in different sizes; it ranges from 19 to 88 inches. When a customer buys an LED TV, then you are stuck with its size, until you buy a new one. On the other hand, when someone buys a projector, increasing and decreasing its size depends on the person. Its size is very adjustable and depending on its model, the customer can decrease it to 40 inches or increase to 300 inches. With an LED TV, the customer is not able to set the size of the screen according to the way they are seated. However, with a tv projector, they can easily set the screen size, as per their seating arrangement.
Content Of Both Products
Customers can watch a lot of content on their LED TV screen. For example, they can put in a DVD or stream their current cable channels. It is a great option to view movies and TV shows on an LED TV screen. However, if someone likes to watch a lot of movies, and that too on Blu-ray and Ultra HD discs, then they need a bigger screen for that. The movie experience that a home projector can give the audience, a TV can’t.
Room Size
TVs are self contained. Customers usually put them in the TV lounge, where the whole family can access it. If someone buys a large screen TV, they can put it in a small room. This means that no matter how small the room is and large the TV is, it won’t be a problem. On the other hand, if someone buys a home projector, it needs a large room to show its wonders. When a projector displays its images on a blank screen, it needs space. It has to be placed behind the viewer, so that it gets sufficient size to provide the customer with the best viewing experience. Those who buy TV projectors, need a large screen experience. However, if they put it in a small room, then that would totally defy its purpose.
The Light Factor
Home projectors are designed in a way that they perform best, when placed in a dark room. If they are placed in a room with ambient light, then they won’t be able to perform well. As for an LED TV, they perform well under normal light. However, when you place them in a dark room, they will perform well too. Sometimes, when customers are watching something on their LED TV, they might notice light reflection on it. This could be an irritating factor for the customer.
Resolution
LED TV is available in different resolutions. For example, the customer can get an LED TV for 1080p, 2K, UHD, 4K and even 8K resolution. However, if a customer wants 4K resolution in a home projector, then that will be more expensive. Most home projectors are compatible with 4K input signals, but the resolution of the projector is still as low as 720p. If a shop offers buyers a low cost home projector, with a high resolution, then that could very well be a fake.
Brightness And HDR Of Both Products
LED TV can give out more light, as compared to home projectors. LED TV is brighter, and they can even display HRD encoded images, better than LED TVs can. LED TV can expand the brightness and contrast range of the screen, and they display pictures like they are viewed in the real world.
Audio System
The audio system of a TV comes built-in. Even though the audio system isn’t great in every TV, at least the customer doesn’t have to buy the speakers separately. However, when it comes to home projectors, customers don’t have many choices with speakers built-in. They have to buy speakers with the home projectors, and for that, customers need an HDM to connect the projector to the source. There are several LED TVs, which comes with smart features. Customers can easily stream video streaming websites on their LED TV screens, without any hassle. However, when it comes to home projectors, most projectors only have an HDMI input and don’t have any smart features.
Installation
The installation process of an LED TV is very simple. Customers can easily put the TV on a stand, and then use a cable to attach it. To install LED TV in a home, no one needs a professional for this purpose. On the other hand, when it comes to a home projector, it is not easy to make decisions. It can be complicated to decide which wall to paint, or opt for a motorized screen, which can be attached to the wall or ceiling.
Final Verdict
It is not easy to decide between a home projector and an LED TV. Customers need to think about what they want, and what they can afford. They need to analyze their own needs; for example, whether they want a big screen for more than one person, or they want a screen that can be placed in a large hall. Choosing between the two can be complicated, which is why making a pros and cons list is best.

Home Projector 1080p VS 4k
Choosing the right projector for your home theater could be a difficult task when you have so many projector brands and technology in the market to choose from; Gadgetlounge. You can find cheap to very expensive projectors in the market, depending upon their technology and overall performance. In this article we will be focusing on 1080p projectors and 4k projectors, and draw out some outline so it is easier for you to decide but it is very obvious that many of the factors which will help you finalize your projector remains something related to your preference and requirements. Also go look at best 4K projector – Click Here. It is important that you go through your requirements and budget before finalizing any projector. Following are some of the comparison between 1080p projectors and 4k projectors which will give you a better understanding of their capabilities:
Cost
Let us discuss the cost of 1080p projector and 4k projectors first, as for many of us budget plays an important factor in our final choice. If I would be writing this comparison a few years back 4k would have been out of the budget for most of the people. But from a past few years the price of 4k have drop drastically and is now affordable for many. But still when you compare it to 1080p projector you have to increase your budget significantly. So if you are under a limited budget you might want to choose a 1080p projector; Pcmag.
Resolution
As you might already know or guess by the name, 4k is a much advanced technology than 1080p; Trustedreviews. Although 1080p cannot be in any means considered a low quality but when compared to 4k there is a huge difference in terms of pixel; Techopedia. 1080p have 1920×1080 pixels on screen while 4k refers to either 3840×2160 pixels or 4096×2160 pixels. So it is very clear that the quality and clarity of 4k projectors are much higher than 1080p projectors. But do remember that to fully enjoy that quality and clarity of image which 4k technology provides, you might require a larger projector screen. If you have a limited space for your projector screen you might want to stick with 1080p projector. As overall comparison in terms of resolution 4k provides almost 4 times more pixels on screen than 1080p and is clearly a better choice in terms of resolution.
Detail
When we look in to the image detail comparison between 1080p and 4k, there are some really important and interesting facts you should know. 1080p is mostly the same 1080p from any distance, this mean even if you are sitting far away from your screen there will be not much of a difference in details. But if you are sitting far away from your 4k projector screen, you might lose some details which you would see from close up. This is because of the depth and detail those extra pixels in 4k technology provide, and to fully enjoy that detail you much be close to the screen. Just take this for an example, while I am typing this article I can see very small pieces of dust particles on my monitor screen but when I move a little further away from my screen they are unnoticeable. It is simply because our vision can see small details from close up and the further we move from that thing the details will fade away. So this is an important factor you should keep in mind while selecting between the two. Your sitting arrangements must be close to your screen if you want to enjoy a 4k projector to its full potentials.
Contrast
Even the best of the 4k projectors can be a waste of money if its contrast ratio is low; Cnet. Higher contrast helps us to see that delicate and minor changes in color details in the graphics/images; which in turn gives us more detailed graphics/images. So if you are investing in 4k just for the sake of pixels and ignoring the contrast ratio you might want to think again. It might be a better option for you to look for a high end 1080p projector which provides better overall quality results than an average or low quality 4k projector.
Sitting arrangements or viewing angle
As I have already mentioned above, for a 4k projector you have to make your sitting arrangements closer to the screen, while you can have flexibility for 1080p projectors. So if you are comfortable with watching your screen from a close distance you can consider a 4k projector. On the other hand, with a 1080p you will have more options for your sitting arrangements. So it all depends upon your personal preference and comfort.
Summarizing the discussion
As you can see both the technology has its advantages and short comings. But one cannot deny that 4k is a much advance technology and certainly have the edge over 1080p technology. So let us summarize the above discussion in following PROS AND CONS of each technology:
Following are some of the PROS of 1080p Projectors
1. Cost-effective 2. Full-HD ( good quality images) 3. Sitting arrangement is flexible 4. Good for gaming
Following are some of the CONS of 1080p Projectors
1. Image quality is lower when compared to 4K 2. Low details

Following are some of the CONS of 4k Projectors

Conclusion
As you can see from the above discussion, that in the end what matters is your own personal preference and requirements. If you have a clear outline of your own personal preference and requirements, selecting the right projector for your home theater would not be that much of an issue. So before looking for a projector, right down what you require and need which will best fit your home theater.
