After so many pilots in star wars saying "i can fly anything" it's so refreshing to see cassian andor be just. absolutely incapable of figuring out the controls of a ship
#in his defence the tie avenger prototype is so different to regular tie fighters etc#got the whole pressurised cabin and everything#you can probably bluetooth your spotify into that thing idk

tulpar kitbash model progress
still working off the basis that the ship is more of a tug for a larger cargo pod (saves massive costs believe me) this is a ship that is essentially three parts;
1, a tiny pressurised crew area,
2, a large platform that said cargo pods can attach to when in dock,
And 3, a massive tank of fuel for long journeys with a big engine to boot.
still needs painting and maybe more detailing in the form of more small cardboard squares but hopefully we’re close

patch progress. its not really film accurate but its a good practice and test i suppose of my sewing ability. as you can see i’m in the process of sewing it onto the overalls i’ve got, which i may repurpose at some point as the uniform of another doomed ship who knows

Of course he crashed the ship. He couldn’t let that ship get home because then he’d end up a jailed social pariah. No one could ever find out, and so destroying the ship and killing everyone was the only way out for him. Of course that went wrong. But that ship carried a lot more than bottles of mouthwash. It carried Jimmy’s guilt, and that could never be allowed to escape the cargo hold.
Edit: looking at a bit of jimmy’s dialogue from before the crash i think confirms my suspicions;
“I like it. We’re in control here.”
this is during a conversation between jimmy and curly about career ambitions, something that jimmy would see disappear if he were to return to earth

Did you notice Jim went quiet for a second when Daisuke said that? Motherfucker saw his life flash before his eyes.
