sigh, an important update for my emotional health:

i'm not in the good mood atm because at home my mom is suffering really hard about my grandma (maternal granny) passing tonight.

this is hurting me a lot. so i'd like to avoid getting into fights, or discussion about things that could frustrate me to the most.

i've been emotionally devastated since monday night (? i think? the whole news messed it up my brain so much i can't remember now), so i feel like dead inside.

i had watched Hunters finale yesterday with my friends and had a good time at least, but today mom's relatives called in so she could see grandma for the last time. she's still moody and this is killing me.

we're doing our best to help her right now, her mood is going up and down like a rollercoaster...

despite all the issues and fights... i love my parents and my family. i want to help them, i want to make them smile.

i'm sorry for my mood. i'll probably posting this in other places too. i'll get back to write stuff, and working on fanfiction/YDP sequel + art in the meantime to keep myself busy.

so i hope you can understand me and my request to not get engaged in discourse.

So, the change? The friend-who-was-watching-it-for-the-first-time pointed out that the Flawizarmon episode makes a warning about how DANGEROUSLY TERRIFYING Tagiru could be if he were the enemy. Just like Daisuke's pragmatism, Tagiru's determination and stubbornness makes him really intimidating. Really intimidating.

The other rank wouldn't change that much, because for our luck... Tagiru behaves and listen to his seniors most of the time, therefore it's still last concern (same goes to Daisuke btw.)

Rank or list who is the the scariest to the not scary at all.

It's basically the "dangerous" list, but with a few tweaks. Like how Daisuke's ranks goes up because he's indeed terrifying (because he's a pragmatic person)

i'm feeling refreshed and happier that my deepest feelings about Hunters weren't myself forcing to enjoy something. they were legitimate and just drowned into negative awful takes due to fandom echo chamber.

LXW Tagiru is just my memories of canon Tagiru in my brain that were repressed.

like srsly we didn't give Akashi Tagiru enough credit and respect. i think everyone should give Hunters a chance and ditch fandom preconceived takes, try to clean their minds and see it differently...

like, sure the series is not trying to be an EPIC LEGENDARY FINAL ARC for Xros Wars, but more likely... an arc to celebrate the past series in a few details, references and even the crossover in it... it's a good way to cool off and unwind after the angst DG arc was imo. we needed it.

btw Legend Xros Wars (the song) is still the peakiest song from Xros Wars, alongside WE ARE XROS HEART ver. x7 ofc...

Kizuna and 02TB (+ their collabs and extra materials) gave me a powerful self-confidence boost because a good chunk of the things i've theorizing and even headcanoning for Daisuke were correct and this is too dangerous for me.

rewatching Hunters is only proven to me that this series was good and i don't agree with the opinion of it being mid anymore.

gosh i missed something more light-hearted to break the heavy atmosphere from DG… i like those eps and those characters a lot…

I'm being reminded about Tagiru's canon portrayal and since i'm watching with friends who are chill about stuff and are just doing it for fun + one of them watching it for the first time ever...

... i think Tagiru wasn't that bad and it reminds me that, when i did not look into the discourse online i was able to have real fun. but unfortunately i was around people who were kinda anti-XW or even, anti-Hunters specifically that i ended up being influenced by them.

so yeah, Tagiru is still a very charming character in its first four episodes. despite his whole obsession for surpassing Taiki and also digimon hunting, he really deeply cared about the others, especially when there were VICTIMS involved. the Sagomon episode? he gave more attention to the fact the digimon was kidnapping students (Yuu misunderstood him at first, but once Mami and her friend came in telling them someone people were missing... he completely got that Tagiru was NOT making up)

and that's something i liked in him? as much he's into something and cannot content his excitement and burning determination, he will prioritize victims and innocent lives over playing a game of hunting digimon with Gumdramon and trying to surpass Taiki and Shoutmon.

gosh i feel like i needed a rewatch as an adult (i was like? a teen when i watched it first?) to make me appreciate more this series and characters.

also newcomer friend said Hunters feels more likely a "spinoff" than a "sequel" or "third arc" so i guess i'd like to see it this way from now on. But Tagiru and Gumdramon deserve more official merch lmao (also the Hunters trio too)

Before i quote my own musings, i'd like to inform you i've been rewatching Xros Wars (all three parts) with two friends (one of them did not watch Hunters, so we're doing a refreshing watch bc said friend loved XW first two series but didn't get enough time for Hunters until now) and while i have a few struggles to keep it up with them sometimes, the majority of sessions and eps i rewatched made me learn new things, chat about everyone's thoughts about the series and even remind myself about stuff i believed since the first time i watched it.

Which means... I'd like to make a brief musing about Taiki and how i've always been thinking his character's traits were also his flaws and deceiving to anyone who only saw his character by its surface.

Hence, i quote myself:

the XW rewatch party continues and i keep thinking that peeps who were complaining about Taiki being "flawless" and "invincible" were too focused on the surface level to realize… … he's the epitome of the double-edged sword, in which his traits are also his flaws.

there were so many times Taiki's kindness and blind trust on others ended up causing him more harm later than him being skeptical like Kiriha. Oh, but at the same time, Taiki's kindness and traits in general were what made Kiriha, Nene, Yuu even Akari and Zenjirou find their resolutions.

and i've been on this hill since day one with this series, and why i wish we had more characters like these tbh. yet i agree they could've worked on this detail a little better, but i'm glad we at least had something like that at least once!

tldr; I think Taiki is a cool protag and i remember why i loved him SO MUCH back in 2010-to-2012 lol.

Also everyone leave Taiki to handle the puzzles because the majority of them are bad with puzzles. Ok, maybe Haru and Hiro help Taiki out but the rest is just either rooting for them or picking clues...

... or trying to break the wall as the quickest and smartest solution.

some fun headcanon based on this scene:

Somewhere around 2010 events (Kizuna movie), Daisuke started a peculiar collection of sunglasses. His interests on the shapes and models just made him find them funny.

And, he really felt like he was getting too old for wearing goggles, or rather, he wouldn't be allowed to wear them everywhere... Let alone the fact the goggles were a gift entrusted to him by Taichi, so Daisuke had a few concerns nowadays about keeping them alive and less damaged.

It's not like he's giving them up, but more likely... keeping them stored next to this previous belongings -- the symbols of his childhood and growth, like the D-3, D-terminal and other stuff related to his dream, like notes and other little gifts and extra help he got from his friends.

These sunglasses also were a small idea Mimi had suggested to him, while he felt something 'missing' in his style. With the goggles temporarily back to Taichi as form to encourage Taichi to find his way, find what he wanted to do in his life... Daisuke really looked weird without a headgear.

Miyako and the others also agreed, plus the seniors. It was like Daisuke was not Daisuke without something round and shiny in the place of the goggles. Hence Mimi's idea.

The goofy orange-ish shades they picked meant to them that Daisuke is bright like the sunshine, the warmth in their lives. And this idea simply made him feel better.

And also started to get people suggesting him stupid, goofy sunglasses every single time they found something Daisuke-branded. He loved those silly shades enough to start a whole collection. Daisuke may not have many so far, but he appreciates every one of them, every gift he received and he keeps wondering where he could put more of those little thingies in his room.

So please, send him all the stupidest, goofiest sunglasses you find to him. He will appreciate them and laugh at them being funny, probably going to wear some of them and post online.

I'm not talking about starting a convo with me and sharing your stuff -- which means you want me to see your cool stuff and engage on a convo with me (and with anyone i'm talking with if it is a convo between two or more people already).

I'm talking about simply doing plain promotion on my art/posts without even trying to talk with me. Without trying to start a convo so we can exchange ideas/stuff.
