#didn't know this song specifically but was instantly like oh this reminds me of (song from the same artist in the same game)#the amount of people in the notes saying “it's not from a game you'd expect” made me second guess it tho even tho#it was from the game i expected lol

Apparently there’s a website called Public Square where conservatives register their businesses to identify themselves as “anti-woke” so other conservatives can find them. I just thought I would share in case anyone wanted to put their zip code in and learn which local businesses to avoid.

While cleaning out my room I found a paper that my therapist gave me some time ago to deal with obsessive and intrusive thoughts. Sorry the paper is a little crinkled and stained, but I figured I’d post it in hopes that it will help someone like it helped me.
#“there's no use in continuing to ruminate on this. it's already over/it can't be changed/it doesn't matter anymore”#is one that's helped me a lot tbh#you can also add a physical cue! whenever i catch myself thinking something uselessly upsetting or starting to spiral#i physically “shake off” the thought (quick shake of my head) and for whatever reason it does help me redirect my thoughts#even if it makes me look a little weird in public lol

You can use any travel method you like, walking, public transport, so on. You can get an uber but their map has failed so you'll have to give directions. You can travel to other countries and count those libraries but you have to be able to completely navigate from your home without assistance. So you can catch a plane but must be able to travel to and from the airport. No limit on how long it takes. If you know which block it's on or which tram line but aren't sure precisely, but you feel sure you'd find it once you got there, count that as a yes (if you're not sure maybe google it now and see if your plan would work). You cannot rely on asking for directions though, this must be all your knowledge

hi i know “don’t believe everything you read on tumblr” has been said enough times at this point in the website’s tenure but i want to specifically say that there is a problem on tumblr and other social media where well-known science enthusiast accounts basically build trust as Knowing Things and then they can say anything they want about those things & everyone just believes them. this is especially a problem among ppl posting about ecology & animal science in my experience.
i’m absolutely throwing stones in my own glass house bc i almost never used to include sources on my wildlife science posts on my old blog but these days i try to make a point of it & i think others should too.
i don’t even think anyone is lying or making things up on purpose. i think they’ve just heard it from another source they consider reliable & they’re spreading incorrect or incomplete information without questioning it, to a much larger platform. about ten years ago I myself made a post repeating something a wildlife professor said to me, which turned out to be outdated info and mostly inaccurate. i trusted him as a source, but i should have looked at the data before sharing it to a wider audience. it was an important lesson!
basically idc how many times popular content creators on here or any other site/app have been correct about other things in other posts. you should still make a habit of asking yourself “what’s the source?” even when it’s a blog you like & trust. bc let me tell ya, i have seen some doozies lately
#a related issue i see a lot is a blog saying something technically true but leaving out important info#seen a lot with people warning about an invasive species but not actually saying WHERE its invasive.#vs where it's native.
