My fav part about being a lifter is just letting people lift when I’m working and I’m the only one who knows what they’re doing. (Only when I work at large corporate stores, not when I’m working at small businesses.) Once a lady stole a whole ass fish tank set up. She came in during peak hours so the store was busy and picked out her stuff and came to the front to “return” the items. Bc she didn’t have a receipt (obviously) I told her I couldn’t give her cash and she kinda shrugged it off AND LEFT WITH THE STUFF. Estimated at like $500 lmfao.
I think about her all the time. I hope she’s doing well. What an icon.

on-floor concealing methods
first and foremost, always conceal in a blindspot! if there aren’t any natural ones, duck down to create one or, if you’re with a lifting buddy, have them stand between you and the camera.
♥ clothing rack
pick up an item and walk over to a clothing rack. go to a clothing rack and, with the same hand as the item, pretend to look through the clothes. as your hand is deep in the rack, either sleeve the item or drop it into your purse. this is a great, natural way to create a blindspot.
♥ double and sleeve
this is the most basic sleight-of-hand and is something every lifter needs to have in their tool belt. this works for long and small items, like lipgloss or mascara. grab two of the same item, hold them as if they’re one, and slide one into your sleeve. you can do this while swinging your arm to propel the item into your sleeve, or just put it subtly in with your fingers.
♥ drop
this works for bigger items. wedge several items between your elbow and ribs. “accidentally” drop one of them from your elbow into your bag as if you had too many items and one of them just fell into your bag accidentally.
♥ lightning conceal
this one is literally just putting something into your purse as quickly as possible. ONLY do this in a blindspot as it’s very obvious the intent is to steal the item.
♥ starbucks cup
get an opaque coffee cup, cut an X into the bottom, and shove little items (concealer, lip gloss, mascara etc) into it. if you do it properly they shouldn’t fall you. you can also pad the cup.
♥ food bag
get a bag of food from the mall food court. eat some and leave some food in there. drop items into your bag. if you get sussed, you can eat food out of the bag. an alternative of this is to put a hole in the side of the bag and put items through the hole rather than just through the top of the bag.
♥ armpit
tuck something under your armpit and either walk out with it there or walk to a blindspot and lightning conceal.
♥ long skirt
wear tight spandex and, when squatting in front of a low shelf at sephora or ulta, push your skirt up slightly and slide a small item into it. pallettes may fit in the waistband. make sure you practice this at home to make sure they’re tight enough and nothing will fall out.
♥ phone
hold something small between your hand and your phone and then put your phone and item back into your purse like you’re only holding your phone.

Okay so I really want to lift from my Macy's Bc it would be totally easy, but I need to know what magnet to buy and if it will go off? I really want new Levi's! 😭 I cri
Macy’s isn’t easy what?
Macy’s is the only department store that I’ve ever personally known to have magnet detectors, and all magnets will go off (as far as I know).
The magnet that I use is this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Super-golf-detacher-Security-tag-remover-golf-tag-detacher-eas-tag-detacher-magnetic-intensity-12-000gs/523993448.html#!

I was wondering if you knew if ulta uses soft tags or if their only tags are the silver sticker ones? I know they only visibility tag clarisinics, naked palettes, and perfume but I want a too faced chocolate bar palette and the Lorac pro palette! Thanks for your help/advice!
I've only seen soft tags on fragrances. I don't believe I've ever seen a soft tag on makeup though. Sorry I can't be of more help 😓 I haven't stepped into an ULTA in maybe 6 months!

Question from selling stuff on mercari like don't the shipping labels have to stick to the box?? Not just be paper I'm so confused lol
No they don’t have to be like a sticker. You just tape it to the box/shipping envelope with clear tape.

I wish I would have taken one of those homemaking courses in school! I ended switching to a new school every year though and eventually just dropped out bc I was getting so fed up with it. But definitely would have loved taking a course with people my age haha. My grandma taught me the basics and as I got older and started doing like recon for shirts I used youtube and now I feel like I can make/fix almost anything. I just don’t feel creative enough to make something of my own lmao. Here recently I’ve been binge watching this girl https://www.youtube.com/user/AnnikaVictoria24 and she’s just awesome! But yeah I feel the same way bc my body is just so friggin weird. I feel like nothing is going to fit me right at the store so normally I don’t even try it on I just go in knowing i’m probably going to have to bust out my sewing machine if I ever want to wear it and have it look nice on my particular body shape. Not trying anything on cuts down on suspicion time too for when I go into the dressing room and detag and blah blah blah. I can’t imagine how long I’d be in there if I actually tried the stuff on.
Learning how to sew and tailor clothes was the best thing I ever learned. A lot of clothes come in very basic shapes and don’t do much to compliment a short, curvy body (like mine), and that’s where sewing skills come in handy. Honestly, form fitting clothes do so much for my confidence because I never ever look frumpy.

Anyone who has gotten a Foreo: Are they worth lifting? Like I hate wasting my energy on something that doesn’t work or isn’t as advertised, etc. :(((

Same. I’m so so so happy I learned how to sew at a young age. By no means am I creative enough to make my own clothes, but if I find something I love but doesn’t flatter me and has enough fabric, I can usually make it into something that looks incredible for my body.

What does the fam have to say about dumpster diving at like ULTA or other big retailers? I've been seeing a TON of success finding big ticket items. I'm taking the safe route for now. I've been feeling pretty shaky about concealing on the floor lately. Thought I might lay off makeup stores but still try to find some free shit.

Tarte is owned by a parent company that tests! So does Nars and The Body Shop.. Also Limecrime is on there really??? Lol. Limecrime is shady as fuck as far as I know they don’t test on animals, but the way they handle business is unacceptable.
Companies that test on animals (steal steal steal!)
