Lighthouse International Group is apparently a mentoring, coaching, and counselling organisation in the UK. Its other organisations are: Lighthouse Kidz and The Legends Report. Members work from home or from special share-houses. They have hours and hours of daily lectures, often with a religious edge. Members are called on to repeat the Ode to Lighthouse; some every hour. Those inside it LOVE LOVE LOVE Lighthouse International Group but those who leave DO NOT at all. Online, there are lots of complaints of bullying and intimidation. Families cut off from their relatives. And claims of debts and unpaid court claims.

Your mentor tells you you’re amazing...
But, you need to learn more, to develop. It’s going to be challenging, it’s going to be expensive, but you owe it to yourself. He (it’s almost always a he) builds you up; no-one understands you like him.
You tell him everything. He wants you to focus on the past, on how people have let you down. It doesn’t matter he has no formal qualification. It doesn’t matter he’s not accredited to any governing body whatsoever. It doesn’t matter people online say he owes them money. It doesn’t matter your friends tell you you’re changing – and not in a good way. He gets you.
You’re expected to pay for a price hike for your sessions, you’re under pressure to buy transformational courses, and you have to dial into the leader’s daily conference call and spend hours and hours and hours of listening and “feeding back”. It’s all fire & brimstone, endless lectures focused on the Bible, plus guilt, shame, abuse, and how awful your family are; you have to repeat the Ode to Lighthouse at any given moment, you are expected to comment on how amazing your leader is, how inspirational his words are, and the more you do it – and the more you pay – the more social currency you have in the group. You Zoom, call, and sometimes meet face to face. You’re told you need to try harder.
You stop talking to your family, in fact, you hate them now. You move into transient living – a temporary house organised by the group – and all the while you have to keep up with your sessions, those lectures, and now evening groups too. You’re exhausted.
Your mentor – and the other senior leaders – say you’re so amazing you should be a mentor, just like them! It sounds wonderful. You just have to transfer them ten or twenty thousand – and you’ll get loads of clients and see a massive return when the company takes off! It doesn’t matter you can’t afford it.
Lighthouse International Group is a self-improvement organisation in the UK offering mentoring, coaching and counselling. It’s a network of mentors who put pressure on their mentees to invest in a project that never, ever happens; to become mentors themselves. It is unregulated. Mentors have no mentoring qualifications. Many are in debt with County Court Judgements against them. Many live in share houses or with their elderly parents.
They’ve been going for more than 10 years but have never had any measurable success.
Past members of Lighthouse International Group are not happy. If they are able to leave, they report bullying, intimidation, love-bombing and then being told they are worthless. They say they are thousands of pounds out of pocket. Some are scared. Some think Lighthouse International Group is a high-control group organised around a male leader.
Many ex-members, their families and friends are posting online. It’s easy to find.
