It’s like the Star Wars fandom is a neverending tense holiday family dinner where no one gets along and everyone has different political opinions, and just when it looks like a brawl’s gonna break out (again), The Mandalorian walks in with his cute new baby and everyone is suddenly like AWWW LOOK AT HIM WHAT A SWEET LITTLE GUY and is (temporarily) on their best behavior because we all wanna hold the BABY. 

(That, is, of course, until the inevitable arguments erupt about how Uncle So-and-So thinks everyone’s coddling the Baby, he’s not THAT cute, and then there’s a fistfight over whether or not the Baby merely takes after Yoda, or if he is time-traveling Yoda, or a clone of Yoda, and then someone gets up and threatens to leave because I swear to God, this is the stupidest thing that’s happened since that year Luke died livestreaming himself across space, and then someone else takes offense at that because honestly they thought it was a very touching MOMENT how many more times do we have to argue about this?!, and some old man in a recliner yells out that he still doesn’t like that Phantom Menace, to which someone else yells back DAD IT’S BEEN TWENTY YEARS, GET OVER IT and…)

I know sanders/warren supporters are at each others throats right now but don't lose sight what the real goal is. If your fav doesn't win the nomination we still need to get the candidate with the better policies into office. That will likely mean voting for a Democrat no matter who it is. Not voting will only help trump get reelected. Politicians aren't celebrities you are meant to stan or cancel when they do something right or wrong. They are opportunities for you to get the policies you want into the oval office. So if you want to help the enviorment, improve healthcare, or raise the minimum wage youre gonna have to vote blue even if you think that candidate did something bad. Its miles better than the alternative.

god the bush fire situation is so fucking devastating as an indigenous person because not only is my home being fucking ravaged by fires and has been for months, but people only seem to care about the animals.

and don't get me wrong, care about the animals! i care about the animals! they're MY native animals, they're part of my culture and home and they're living breathing creatures.

but there's so so so many things in place already to help animals, shelters and charities and sanctuaries, and by all means help them more, but the government does not care about aboriginal australians. shit, scomo doesn't give a flying fuck about anyone who isn't a white cishet able bodied christian.

aboriginal australians are losing our homes, you say people aren't endangered but WE ARE. we make up a tiny percentage of our country, and a vast majority of us live in poverty and unsafe areas. not only are we losing our homes, we're losing our identity, our lives, our families. this land means more to us than it ever will to people crying over the koalas. the koalas mean more to us than they ever will to you.

remember who lived alongside those animals for thousands of years.

there's a million things i could say about why we need help more than the animals, but in the end white people will care more about what's small and fluffy than people of colour, especially people whose land they're living on, right?
