Hello everyone, 

long time ago, I wrote a post about a korean show called Running Man and how much it meant to me. The reason why I did that, was because a couple of years ago, there were news the show was ending or switching to a new format, with new cast members etc and when that happens to a show that has brought so much joy not only to me, but millions of people around the world, it sucks.

Today, I’m writing cause I was checking an outlet for korean news when I read that Lee Kwang Soo was stepping down from Running Man due to his injury not being fully healed. And I’m not gonna lie, I wanted to think it was a joke, it was like reliving that day when I thought my fav show was ending, I read through the article and I shed some tears cause as a fan, the only thing I can do is bid farewell to an amazing person in a Lee Kwang Soo way.

To Lee Kwang Soo. 

When the show started I was very confused with you because you were an actor but your vibe was very different to Joong Ki’s. You were so shy but very unlucky from the very first moment and I thought that you wouldn’t really last there. Oh how wrong I was.

As the show progressed and gained popularity, you went on to shed a bit of that shy shell you had at the very beginning and became “Framer Kwang Soo” when you started to frame your Ji Hyo noona saying somebody saw her smoke or kim Jong Kook dating somebody, and I have to admit, I was enjoying those. I wasn’t a fan at first due to the nature of the slandering, but the more I watched it, the more I understood how it was just for the show and you weren’t that way.

I was cracking up everytime you appeared cause I knew I was up for a good laugh. You became a synonym for a good laugh and I know everyone will feel the same way. When Running Man became an international hit and the animals ep was out, the whole “you’re a giraffe” had me dying cause it was giving his position right away to the enemy. 

Not only you became a giraffe but also Asia’s Prince and I know it’s kinda funny to say so, and how you believed that, but I really think you became that. You became a person who was loved not only in Asia but in the whole world. You have this energy to you that you know there’s more to see.

Slowly you became a fan favorite, not only because you were funny and you were bringing laughter to everyone around you but because everyone saw how good of a person you are through your manners. How you were always helping Ji Hyo or the hyungs around, how you always were for others more than yourself and how selfless you are. 

Thank you for becoming the gem of the show, Running Man needed you as much as you needed Running Man. Thank you for your antics with Jaesuk,

For becoming the younger brother that Ji Suk Jin needed.

For bringing out more of Gary’s personality to the spotlight.

For becoming the unexpected person that could go against Kim Jong Kook and your antics with him.

For being Song Joong Ki’s best friend as well as his butler.

For scheming alongside Haha and making each episode feel like a huge movie...that would start like a spy movie but slowly it becomes a comedy.

For being an equal to Somin and almost forming a love line with her and for being an airhead together with Sechan, making you guys the maknae line we love and cherish and making them feel welcome in the show at a very tumultous time.

I’ve decided to save for last Ji Hyo noona cause I think you hold Ji Hyo in a special place in your heart, like an older sister. You know, whenever I was watching Running Man, I always thought you guys were similar. You both were coming from an acting background and slowly became part of our lives, you guys became the gems of the show in very different ways, while Ji Hyo took the “I’m so cool” route becoming the ace, you became THE MOMENT, the laughing stock, and gosh I love it. As not only your fan but also Ji Hyo unnie’s fan, I want to thank you for the bottom of my heart. For always being there for her, for taking care of her,

 for making sure she would get screen time,

 for being attentive

for your antics with her

and for being her younger brother.

 Thank you. Thank you for being you and for giving us so many years of love and laughs, you will always have a space in our hearts.
