This is a review of a…. part of a zine? When does a part of a zine become a zine itself? Anyway, this part is about the author’s love of Hello Kitty and her experiences working in a Sanrio store.

I appreciated what the author had to say about the contrast between the cute, friendly image of Hello Kitty and the treatment workers received at the Sanrio store. Corporations suck the life out of everything. I’m glad the author got to enjoy some parts of the job and can continue to enjoy Sanrio products, though.

I enjoyed reading this. The author’s writing style is conversational and interesting, and I love reading stories about what people notice at work!

flipthrough of the moth book with new construction technique for longevity! didn't want to get into actual hardcover materials so sdlkfjdsf i'm using 80lb cardstock for the cover boards and strathmore toned tan paper (80lb text) from a sketchbook for the binding. i will have some these at sabf as well.

huuuuge shoutout to michael mcginnis on youtube for the bookbinding technique and spine measurements which worked like a charm.

last year i played around with different zine formats/ways to get creative with page layout. this design resulted in two distinct halves around a center spine, so i thought it'd be fun to add in a 90º rotation as well.

PAGE 3: It's been years since I last heard from you. I don't know what happened. I never got a text back, I never got a letter back.

PAGE 5: I know it's no use, but I still think of you almost every single day. I miss you and wonder if you miss me too (but you probably don't).

a zine about some of the plants i compulsively snack on whenever i wander past them. random leaves you find outside: put them in your mouth and see!!!

since this is a simple format zine, I've included a printable version of the US letter sized scan/jpg. I usually pick a pretty cardstock to make covers for this one, but I threw in a quick front/back cover so it's useable as-is. Feel free to print your own copy--or better yet, go outside and eat some leaves and rank them, and send it to me so I can see!
