“sorry, kid. no can do. how come you’re askin me, anyway?” he folds his arms and shrugs. “i’m don’t really have time to be doing people favors for free.”
“Well why not? You seem v-very knowledgeable.” She spoke crossing her arms over her chest. “Are you sure you don’t have time? It’ll only take ten minutes tops.” She pouted her bottom lip out for dramatic effect.

milesfrcmhome:
There are simply days when all one can do is go grab a coffee and pretend as though copious amounts of caffeine will fix your problems. Thanks to Honey, Miles knew the best spot in town to grab a cup and hide away in the corners. He’d brought with a notebook and several pens, working through calculation after calculation. He had to admit quantum physics was certainly not his subject of choice, being more of a calculus and chemistry guy himself.
He had gotten up a few times for refills, not looking at the clock since he didn’t exactly have anywhere else to be beside Go Go and Honey’s couch, but had otherwise remained stationary. It wasn’t until he felt eyes upon him that he looked up from his work and blinked.
“Um, h-hi? Can I help you?”
Vanellope had come to her usual coffee spot for a quick stop on her drive home. Admittedly she knew not only the usual crowd in the coffee shop pretty well, but also most people in town at least by hearing about them from someone she knew.
Seeing a new face around was always interesting to her, it meant a new story to know and before she knew it she found herself eyeing the boy, trying to figure out if she knew him from somewhere or if he was someone she hadn’t come across before. As he spoke to her, she did about a double take not realizing she had been staring for too long. “O-Oh my gosh. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean - I’m Vanellope.” she paused, sticking out her hand for him to shake. “Are you new around here?” she asked quizzically.

An unpleasant scowl was on Stitch’s face. He couldn’t believe this place. He grunted realizing he ran all the way over here for nothing. They were so lucky that he just didn’t go an a rampage through the store. He didn’t want to get banned from another store. Seeing Vanellope pay for this, he began to feel bad. “I’ll pay you back, Van. I swear.” Stitch took his cone. “Sorry about this though. This place sucks.”
“No don’t worry about it, my treat.” She brushed him off “Indeed it does, we’ll take it off the list of good ice cream places.” Vanellope spoke with a laugh, nudging him gently. “But hey it was an effort at least, no harm in t-trying.” She explained eating some of the ice cream herself.

rancisx:
Rancis was never one to openly talk about his feelings, although maybe him not being very close to Vanellope would make it easier to talk about them. While he had a solid friend group, he would be lying if he said he told them everything.
Vanellope didn’t have to tell him she wasn’t evil; he definitely knew that already. He could tell that she was more mature than most of his friends, and wondered if maybe it was time for him to grow up, too. “Well — I guess we’ll take it one thing at a time … I’m only like, half decent at basketball and I need to be better than decent to get on the team this year.” He sighed, shrugging his shoulders. “High school was just the easy part — I guess I gotta step up my game.”
Vanellope listened intently to what he was saying, knowing the importance of feeling heard by someone firsthand. She took a moment to think before speaking up, “Rancis, you’re amazing at basketball, definitely more than half decent in my opinion. But, if you wanted to I c-could help you practice here and there if you think that would help?” She offered shyly, knowing she was probably the last person on earth he wanted to be spending time with.
She let out a sigh before continuing, “It might have been easy but you gotta remember that you’re always going to have room to improve no matter what it is, whether its b-basketball or something else in your life, thats just how it is.” She explained with a shrug. “What else is going on?”

“Well, duh, of course you can!” She laughed, loving how easily excited Vanellope could be sometimes. “It would be good for Gruff to have a cool aunt in his life, all he has is me, and I’m definitely more of a crazy mom type. We could make it like a doggy-boot camp, but more fun.”
“Wait I love this idea. A doggy boot camp would be so c-cool!” She spoke in agreement, “I’ve always wanted to teach a dog tricks and do all the dog mom things! Can we get him a puppaccino?”

scampjr:
Scamp jumped away from the window he had been peering into. “Fuck!” he turned around quickly, glancing at the girl. “Don’t just come out of nowhere and scare me like that! I’m concentrating.” Ignoring the question, turning back to what he was doing. All he wanted to do was make sure the guard wasn’t around when he tried to picklock the door, a skill he honed through years of sneaking out of his house. The girl posed a difficult question for him, though. If she was there how would he be able to go in, after all if someone found out she’d be a witness. “Go home, kid.”
Vanellope couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at his reaction. “You know if you’re trying to be all stealthy you should work on not getting scared so easily.” She explained crossing her arms over her chest. “Concentrating on what?” She questioned further, lifting her head a little to try and look into the window he had been scouting out. “No can do, sorry.”

“you’re telling me you need a special coin just to play an arcade game?” barrel’s face morphs in disgust. “that’s fuckin’ lame. i’d easily be top scorer. i already am, when it comes to guitar hero.”
“seems ridiculous right?” she said with a small laugh. “honestly you should go in there and beat all their scores, I would die of laughter. Guitar hero oh my gosh, I used to love that game! I used to p-play it so much I gave myself some wrist injury.”

“Can’t really blame you, the city always has so much going on!” Even a town like Carthay had so much going on than Stephanie could always keep up with - and it was far busier than the tranquil Hundred Acre Woods. The sprite easily returned the girl’s smile, always warm and friendly. “Tell me, what just what kind of craziness is near your house?”
“Well for one thing it doesn’t sleep. Theres always something g-going on, but it helps make it feel a lot less lonely, you know?” She admitted with a shrug, absentmindedly drawing small shapes with her feet in the sand. “What about you? Anything crazy go on where you live?”

Vanellope had spent a much longer time than she had meant to in the arcade. It felt as if she blinked and it was approaching the late hours of the night. She was lucky enough to live a close distance from the arcade where she could walk to and from. She tended to enjoy this time to get a better feel for her little corner of Carthay. Noticing someone lurking around a neighboring building she couldn’t help herself, and began walking in their direction. She could tell they were up to something but she decided to let her curiosity get the best of her. Tapping on the other’s shoulder she paused before beginning to speak, “What are you doing?” @scampjr

“yes! exactly that!” she exclaimed, glad he was getting the right idea. “and plus now with all this area 51 talk, we’re getting closer!”

rancisx:
Rancis was surprised Vanellope even bothered asking what was wrong with him; he knew she didn’t have any reason to be nice to him, so what was the point? Rancis and his friends were never nice to those they had conflict with, instead usually harsh and sometimes a bit cold. He couldn’t possibly understand why Vanellope would even attempt to be friendly to him, but, to be fair, it was kind of nice change.
Watching Vanellope sit across from him, he shrugged his shoulders. “Lots of things, if I’m going to be honest. — shouldn’t you be the last person to care, though?” He asked curiously, his eyes focused on the ground rather than making eye contact. He wasn’t usually so blunt about how he was feeling, but Vanellope seemed to have caught him in a weird funk.
“Ok vague, but what things?” She questioned further, “Probably, but that d-doesn’t mean I don’t. I’m not evil Rancis.” She spoke, a small laugh escaping her lips at the end of her sentence.
While she and Rancis had their differences, she didn’t hate him. They still managed to get along some of the time. All the talk about college and growing up made a part of her want to put away all the foolishness of the past four years and start fresh.

lilcpele:
Lilo never said no to ice cream - even if she already had a cone. By now, the guy that worked at the cart knew her name, and exactly what she wanted every time. “Of course we can! You have to experience this ice cream at least once in your life - it’s better than anything store bought.”
Vanellope couldn’t wipe the smile off of her face. She couldn’t help but feel like she was making a new friend, which is a rare occurrence. “Most of the store bought stuff is awful anyways. The best ice cream is always at the cute little hidden places.” She agreed, “You’re hyping this up like crazy, it really has t-to be the best.” She spoke with a laugh as she began walking in the direction Lilo had come from.

“That’s totally understandable!” She was quick to say, not wanting her (or anyone for that matter) to take on a commitment that they were not prepared for. “If you’re serious about it, of course I would give you training on everything! You could even dog-sit for Gruff if you wanted to, just to get a feel for what it takes to have a dog.”
“OH MY GOSH! can I? And we can dog proof my apartment! And Gruff can sleepover, and I can feed him treats and be his c-cool aunt!” She spoke fondly about the dog. Truth be told, Vanellope loved pets, she just had never really had one of her own. “I can’t believe we actually might f-figure this out. I could actually do this.”

spacestitch:
The looks everyone was giving the two didn’t reassure Stitch. The employee though gave no indication of free ice cream or not. He just stared blankly at the two at the counter. Stitch asked one more time. “Is. There. Free. Ice cream?” The long minute it took for the employee to respond had Stitch on edge. He didn’t want to be wrong about this. Not in front of Vanellope. Not after she will definitely hold this against him until the end of days. The employee finally answered with, “Only if you buy one. It’s buy one, get one free.” Stitch was half right. “Oh. Well fuck.” He didn’t bring any money.
She couldn’t help but let a frown fall over her face. “I knew it was too good to be true.” she whined rolling her eyes, “Hey, language mister there’s kids around.” She reminded Stitch, nudging him gently. She smirked as she pulled her small wallet out of her back pocket and payed for an ice cream for herself, allowing for Stitch to take the free one. “I mean we ran the whole way here, I’m not leaving without one.” She defended herself with a shrug, thanking the employee before taking her ice cream.
