Thinking about warmer weather and looking at this drawing I made last may of the irises blooming in my backyard! Sitting on the hot pavement making this seemed irritating then, but given the current cold weather I'd give anything to be there now...

Happy (belated) new year! While I have a TON of goals for my animation, illustration, and viz dev, outside of that my new year's resolution is to start painting again! I've missed it with all the chaos surrounding application portfolio work, so since I'm basically in the clear it's time to start back up 😏

The Organic Island, which serves as the Monarch Empire’s traveling trade post, ventures across the land and is always ready to take in the newest seller. So when the unlikely duo of washed up con artists, Ivy, and third to the throne, Monarch Austin, find themselves stranded on the island without a marketable talent between them, they have no choice but to team up and undertake the island’s most unwanted job in order to earn their keep: customer relations. Alongside them are the island’s keepers Arther and Eric, who maintain the area’s chaos; the local antiquities shop owner Sylvia, who is known for her eccentric finds; and the socialite Serena, who captivates the island with a flair of drama.

A project concept I've had floating in the brain for a while! One day I'll turn this into a series....

Working in a bakery is no joke, but working in a bakery on the water? That’s a whole other story! Berry’s Boatside Bakehouse is a slice-of-life story that navigates the relationship between John Berry, a seasoned baker, and his up-and-coming kids, Jacob and Jess Berry, who are either TOO involved in the family business, or uninterested to the point of conflict. This story tackles the complexities of family relationships in early adulthood, navigating the beginning stage of a career, and understanding the best mentality to thrive in this world.

A cup I made this past month! I will be making a whole set of these on the wheel in 2025 since I know the design. I can't wait to take these with me wherever I end up next!
