Good morning y'all! I'd like to thank the volunteers who came to FareShare last Saturday - awesome job! We helped sorting 2 pallets of food (mostly inside the fridge! ❄️❄️❄️) prepared 4 vans for Monday delivery and cleaned the warehouse.

London HAHD - 22nd April
FareShare Unit 7 Deptford Trading Estate Blackhorse Road London SE8 5HY April 22nd, 2017 12-4pm
We’re going to be based at the FareShare Deptoford warehouse to sort & store delivered surplus food, pick and pack food ready to be dispatched to charities and if you want to, input food information on our computer system. Spots available: 5 Wear clean, casual clothes that are suitable for manual work as you will be based in an operational, regulated food warehouse. It can be chilly in the warehouse in winter and warm in summer so we suggest that you wear layers. We have a limited number of small lockers for any spare items but ask that you bring as little as possible with you. Safety boots must be worn and will be provided on the day, so you should wear socks or bring socks with you. If you have your own safety boots, you are very welcome to wear them. To sign up: send an email to [email protected] with your name, age and phone number :*

This will be rubbish because I’m not there...
...RUBBISH...because...litter picking...
...it will actually be very good. You should be there.
HAHD 12March16
Hey there!
We have an event coming up *pauses for cheering*
Thames21 Big Count on Isle of Dogs 9:00am -11:30am, Saturday 12th March 10 places available
Meet outside Island Gardens (DLR stop) at 8:45am.
We will be joining Thames21 to help tidy up one of London’s biggest litter hotspots - Newcastle Draw Dock on the Isle of Dogs.
As well as cleaning the site, we will be leading a count to uncover where all the litter is coming from. This is their first even in a series at Newcastle Draw Dock to help answer questions like:
is the litter issue on the Thames getting worse or better?
which types of litter are the most common?
how is the little getting into the river (and how do we stop it)?
Equipment will be provided, so only good boots and a warm jacket are required.
All ages welcome, but children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you’d like to attend this event email [email protected] with your name, age and mobile number.
You’re place will be confirmed via email and a reminder will be sent out nearer the time.
Unfortunately I can’t attend this event but you will be in the very capable hands of Ferne, the lovely new co-captain.

Pretty excited about this one, get yo’self there.
International Have A Hart Day
It’s nearly here & it’s taken me slightly too long to organise but here are the details of the event, if you have any questions please email me at [email protected]. 12Dec15 #IHAHD This event is a really community oriented volunteer opportunity for International Have A Hart Day. We’ll be volunteering with Manor House Development Trust (in partnership with London Wildlife Trust).
The event we’ll be taking part in is made up of two parts; the garden and the kitchen:
one team will be in the kitchen where you will work together to prepare & cook a meal using surplus foods given to us by local businesses & stuff grown in the garden.
the other team will be in the garden, this group will be working together outside helping to maintain & sort the garden.
We’ll then join back up to enjoy the meal lovingly cooked by the kitchen group.
This is a great opportunity for us to help out but also learn a bit ourselves about sustainable living & community. The fresh air is an added bonus ;)
There are 10 spaces available and we’ll be divided up into two teams when we get there.
We’ll meet at Manor House tube station (piccadilly line) at 10.10am, Sat 12th December for a 10.30 start. We should be finished by 3/4pm.
All ages are welcome, under 16s with parent’s permission please (if you’re very young then why not bring your parent along too!)
If you’d like to attend this event please email me at [email protected] with your name, age and telephone number. I will then email you to confirm your place & also send you some more details.
As always if you have any questions, please ask away :)

Sunday 20Sep15 have-a-hart-day @ Whitechapel Mission
Luckily we had a slightly quieter day to volunteer as there were only two of us this week! Thank you to Cicely for coming down and working hard :)
We prepared, cooked & served over 100 breakfasts and made loads of teas, coffees & hot chocolates (and tidied up afterwards).
