He laughed heartily, then ruffled the boys head. 

“There it is, my little sir! Come with Varrick, he’ll show you what life is really  about.”

“Weelll, when you put it like that - Where do I sign?!”

Varrick raised an eyebrow. “I’d say it’s pretty accurate. You hungry little monster, you!” 

Kids, what more was there to say. He didn’t let the adults push him around, he wouldn’t start with the little ones either. It was all about equality, very simple to understand. 

Now... Food. Varrick rubbed his chin as he rummaged through the cupboards. “How about some... Pickled-- whatever the heck this is!” He waved the bag around staring at it skeptically.

He’d have to taste to be certain.. but..

“Cayon crawler? You’re comparing me to a big ugly bug?” Korra put her hands to her hips with a big pouty lip.

Secretly she was proud of herself because she had learned about all types of animals in school.

Korra followed the tall man all through the house until soon she brought him right to the food. She was surprised- usually her baby sitters don’t last that long. Something about her being the Avatar intimidated them- she guessed.
