My personal Jurassic Park headcannon that literally no one asked for is that the spinosaurus in JP3 doesn't actually have any spinosaurus DNA because like.
We had like NO spinosaurus fossils before 2014. Aside from a few teeth. Ingen I don't think would've had any spinosaurus fossils either (though it's all too common for rich dipshits to buy up fossils to keep in their collection without giving actual Paleontologists any access). If they did, then the JP3 Spin would've come out looking at least *something* like a spinosaurus. Most of the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park DO fit the vague outline of their species, even if horrifically shrinkwrapped.
So what I think happened is Ingen hodge podged a bunch of spinosaurids like Baryonx (which Ingen is known to have possessed DNA of), Suchomimus, and then mixed some salt water crocodile and deinosuchus in for good measure.
(yes I know these designs were cannon for the time but this is just my headcannon ok)

[image id: a four-page comic. it is titled “immortality” after the poem by clare harner (more popularly known as “do not stand at my grave and weep”). the first page shows paleontologists digging up fossils at a dig. it reads, “do not stand at my grave and weep. i am not there. i do not sleep.” page two features several prehistoric creatures living in the wild. not featured but notable, each have modern descendants: horses, cetaceans, horsetail plants, and crocodilians. it reads, “i am a thousand winds that blow. i am the diamond glints on snow. i am the sunlight on ripened grain. i am the gentle autumn rain.” the third page shows archaeopteryx in the treetops and the skies, then a modern museum-goer reading the placard on a fossil display. it reads, “when you awaken in the morning’s hush, i am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. i am the soft stars that shine at night. do not stand at my grave and cry.” the fourth page shows a chicken in a field. it reads, “i am not there. i did not die” / end id]
a comic i made in about 15 hours for my school’s comic anthology. the theme was “evolution”

There's a strong case to be made for Cahara being the most tragic character in fear and hunger, since he's more or less canonically the only one who doesn't leave the dungeon alive. It's not outright stated because that's not fear and hunger's style, but we know that:
Enki achieved true enlightenment and immortality and went on to author the skin-bibles in termina, which is about the closest fear and hunger gets to giving it's characters a truly happy ending
Ragn'valdr extinct'd the monsters to the point where they're almost a myth in the human consciousness and started another family (August exists), and on top of that got a pet dog out of the whole thing, which is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me
And then there's Cahara, who never got to go back to his wife and kid, who died at the bottom of the dungeon, who without a doubt experienced the absolute worst of what the dungeon had to offer..but he also found and took care of the girl- and, for a very brief moment, got to be for her what he couldn't be for his child. Got to experience fatherhood.
Would it have been better for him to escape? Sure. But like..even in his S ending, Cahara is outright *haunted.* He seems to be the most casually suicidal out of all the characters as an NPC, and has already basically come to terms that he's dying down here ("I should at least die trying" line)
Cahara's fate is undoubtedly tragic and undeserved..but from the point of view of an elder god, it might've straight up been a mercy. The God of Fear and Hunger is not without kindness, especially for the only man who ever showed her any sliver of it.
Looking at all these endings you can see how, from a certain point of view, they're good endings for the characters- if not outright happy ones.
..but then there's D'arce.
what good ending is there for D'arce? If she doesn't get to Le'Garde on time, turns around and just leaves, she will broken by her grief and going mad from her memories of the sheer horror of what she experienced in the dungeon.
If she *does* save Le'Garde, she has two options: either turn around and leave- at which point he'll refuse, meaning she either has to abandon the love of her life to get herself out of the hellish dungeons, rendering her entire trip pointless..or she can stay with him and help ascend to a new god. His faithful lieutenant and tool until old age or death takes her.
And what of her S ending? Reviving Le'Garde as some sort of flesh monstrosity? That's arguably better than ending C-II, but the ghoul is not Le'Garde. At least not the one D'arce remembers. Her only comfort is that in this monstrous state he remains lashed to her..but it's hardly true loyalty. She is the keeper of a violent demon. And given her absolute unwavering loyalty to her captain, I suspect she becomes one herself in Ending S.
For Enki, there is a true enlightenment awaiting him in the dungeon.
For Ragn'valdr, there is a new purpose, and perhaps a sense of closure
Even for Cahara, there is the brief love and light he provided for a lonely little girl, who shows him love and light in the only way she knows how.
But there is no such kindness in the dungeons for D'arce.
Only grief and the lash of faith.

While Nona was my least favorite of the locked tomb series (which is like scoring bronze at the Olympics), I think it might have my favorite ending. Purely because of how absolutely gut wrenching it is.
At the end of Nona, Nona reverts to her true form- Alecto. While they are one in the same..Nona, for all intents and purposes, no longer exists. She's not *dead*, she's just.. gone. And the same goes for Palamedes and Camila. They're not dead. Just..gone. They have simply ceased to exist.
And then there's Pyrrha. Watching her entire family get erased. All in the same night.

I need this fic like rn
AU idea
Tumblr media
Ok. Imagine Dishonored 2. But Delilah didn't turn Corvo into stone. She wants all of Jessamine's favorite toys. She trapped his consciousness in a picture of better days. Where Jessamine is still alive. She is Jessamine. And Emily, trying to play against Delilah, is just a dangerous assassin. Imagine Emily fleeing Dunwall not just from a coup but from death itself. Corvo in his mask is chasing the girl. And he is absolutely invincible at the beginning of the game. Emily will have a chance only in the final. When she becomes much more experienced. And Corvo will begin to doubt the justice of his task. Of course, if Emily does not turn Karnaca into chaos. If she is a monster then Lord Protector will have no reason to listen to her. And Emily will have to fight her father to the death before getting to Delilah.

If they make a Jin epic tail in ghost of Yōtei (which they fucking should) I want Jin to COMPLETELY embody the ghost. I want the musician to describe him as a 7 foot tall demon with flaming eyes and the ability to summon lightning strikes with his sword. I want him to describe Jin actually physically melting into the shadows. I want people to doubt his existence. I want to Atsu to doubt he was ever real.
Let the legend supercede the man. Let Jin Sakai die and let the ghost live on
