six directors, one semester
i'm a film major taking a semester off to do a study away program and want to use my time to do a deep dive into the filmographies of six global directors, to expand my artistic horizons, learn about directorial development over different careers, and have some starting points for film research when i go back to school.
i chose these directors because i already have some appreciation for their work and want to learn more about their styles and roles in film history; additionally, the program i am in this semester is a buddhist studies program, and each of these director's works touch upon spirituality in a way i find intruiging.
here are the six: wim wenders, satyajit ray, andrei tarkovsky, robert bresson, yasujiro ozu, ingmar bergman
this 'project' constitutes about 75 films in about as many days, but i hope to bolster it with supportive readings and materials.

i will post reviews/thoughts on each film on my page as i watch, so feel free to follow along if you're interested in learning a bit about film history with me, and please share any recommendations for content that would help me explore these filmmakers or the themes of their work! i also have much more content at my letterboxd (https://letterboxd.com/lucn/) so, you know.
vive le cinéma!
