My heart goes out to every Muslim in New Zealand and anyone that is affected by the horrible news of the mosque shootings in Christchurch. This is an absolutely abhorrent attack against an innocent community. The vitriol that Islamophobia has spewed out has created a hostile and dangerous place for Muslims and that’s terrifying. They don’t deserve to live in fear. The shooter is truly evil. My condolences to everyone who has lost or had a loved one harmed.

Wow, I needed this! Thank you
i know a lot of people of color become atheist to decolonize themselves from organized white christian religion. but i encourage y’all to actually look back at your own cultural practices before white interaction. black people, latine people, asian ppl who happen to be christian, becoming atheist isn’t the best form of decolonization – atheism was created by a white man. it is a white ideology. and i’m not saying atheism is bad or that being an atheist is bad but if you are doing so in a way to get away from the “white man’s” religion, then that isn’t it.

In order to make a relationship last, you really have to flow with a person as they change. Give them space. My friend always told me about his grandfather who was with his wife for 60 years before she passed. His grandfather said that through all that time, his wife changed so much it felt like he had been with 8 different people by the end. But he said the secret to making it last was that through all those changes, he never suffocated his wife with his own idea of who he expected her to be. Rather he loved, fully, every new woman she became.

Being able to find someone you click with so naturally is the best feeling ever. You feel like you’ve been best friends you’re whole life, it feels like you’re coming home. You’re so comfortable with them. Maybe that’s what a soulmate is. Not someone who shares every single thing in common with you, but someone who feels like home.

Chiune Sugihara. This man saved 6000 Jews. He was a Japanese diplomat in Lithuania. When the Nazis began rounding up Jews, Sugihara risked his life to start issuing unlawful travel visas to Jews. He hand-wrote them 18 hrs a day. The day his consulate closed and he had to evacuate, witnesses claim he was STILL writing visas and throwing from the train as he pulled away. He saved 6000 lives. The world didn’t know what he’d done until Israel honored him in 1985, the year before he died.
