So yeah, pollen is a thing. Haven’t been able to be very productive lately, which includes drawing. So all I could manage was a quick sketch.

Okay but this is how bad 2017 was that I’m in my basement just now and a dandelion seed floats by and I’m like that’s weird, why is a dandelion seed floating right toward me in my basement where there’s no wind and in the middle of winter? And I let it fall onto my hand and stared at it for a moment before saying to it, “I’m a scientist and a very practical, down to earth person… but if you’re some kind of fairy, can you help me out, bro, and give me a better 2018?” Then I gently sent him on his way and wished him good luck. Keep your fingers crossed, people. XD

Skintight

Here we are, the final drawing for my Pic-a-Week Challenge for this year! And boy, did I have fun with this one! Been wanting to draw a hyena for a long while now, and decided this week was as good a time as ever. Tried a fun floaty-dancey pose for a change, which ended up working well. Happy yeen! And the bodysuit happened by accident. She was meant to be wearing jeans and a shirt, both with stripes and patterns on them. But, some of the stripes happened to line up with each other, so I decided to go with a skintight bodysuit instead. Even removed the belt! Since she's a spotted hyena, and most of her fur is covered up, I decided it would be neat to incorporate some rectangular spots on her suit as a substitute. She'll likely end up being a permanent character someday, once I decide on a name and what the rest of her will look like. But for now, here's just an hyena having some fun while wearing a really cool suit!

A Christmas gift for Fin6, one of my most favourite people in the world. :3 And an amazing artist at that.

Had a lot of fun drawing this, especially the hair and jacket. Cyan! <3

Gir

A while back I watched an episode or two of Invader Zim again, and got reminded of how adorably and derpy Gir is. I was under the impression that I drew him before, but couldn't find any drawings. At least not uploaded ones. (I WANT A GIR) I made the sketch sometime last week, before deciding to draw something else. I decided to ink the sketch, this time using only my brush pen. However, the ink made the paper rip itself to shreds and almost ruin the piece entirely. Colouring it was the plan originally, but the paper damage unfortunately made that impossible. Also, I need to change the head-to-body ratio dramatically in the future. I'd have to use different paper for heavy inking in the future, especially if I want to add colour afterwards. Learning!

‘Eyy

A try at a more cartoony style, as well as giving ink + colour pencils another go. The style is partially inspired by that of Zerda-Fox, a really talented artist that I admire. :3

I might make more of these in the future, it’s fun to have to not worry about proportions as much as usual (even though it takes so much getting used to) and the simpler shading makes it less demanding too. Plus, I don’t get to work with colour as often, so that’s great as well.

[S] There & There

I've been wanting to draw something derpy for a while, and what better time than when one's struggling to think of something else to draw instead? Also it's December already, wow.

A quick sketch to celebrate the successful demonstration of my (mostly working) final year project. It's a basic synthesiser, that can be played by tapping on the table, instead of needing a keyboard. While it didn't work compleeeeetely, it worked well enough to show I can do engineerstuff. So just need to finish the report, and that'll be done!

A concept sketch for a new character I've had in mind for a long while now. This is Collin Garris, also known as Three, a tiger with an affinity for shotguns. (His favourite is the SPAS-12~) He's a mercenary, specializing in extractions and retrievals. Still working on some of his other details, eventually making a ref sheet as well.

A funny little sketch inspired by the lack of inspiration (whut) every artist faces every now and then. That and a lack of time and motivation to do some art.

[G] Eylof

A gift drawing for one of my wolf friends, Eylof. This is an experimental piece, mixing ink for lineart and pencils for colour. Pretty pleased with how it came out! Might do some more pieces like this in the future.
