Their first kiss was so perfect! I've lost track of how many times I rewatched it.

I love the soft smiles they give each other. I love that Chengyu gently pulls Xiaoshuai's hand around his waist to hold him close. I love that the kisses are slow and tender even though Chengyu has been wanting that cookie for so long. I love that Xiaoshuai's tentativeness is met with Chengyu's gentle reassurances. I love how the lighting makes the moment feel ethereal.

I love everything about this kiss.

Can I just take a moment to appreciate that Chi Cheng returns from his trip and immediately goes to Suowei, not for sex, but for the comfort of his presence.

He shoves Suowei over and after 5 days with his gf likely trying to have sex with him at every turn, he looks like a man who can finally exhale.

He's back with Suowei where he can be himself and get some unmolested sleep.

I think this moment was so beautiful for what it reveals about Chi Cheng's feelings toward Suowei. While he might be aggressive and often acting like he's just after sex, in the end it's Suowei's presence he craves. This has become his safe space with the two of them wrapped up in the soft yellow comforter, the color of warm sunlight that Chi Cheng seems to eschew in his own place.

I'm getting there. So I think I've mentioned before that I have extremely low iron. I also have what is called Pseudotumor cerebri, well, guess whose kids were just diagnosed with it! Kids having this is extremely rare, and the fact that all of them have it has dumbfounded everyone. On the plus side, a low sodium diet resolves the issues. So not a hard fix except adapting your life and learning it. So you can imagine how busy I've been. It could be way worse, though!

Well, everything looked like it was going back good. Then shit hit the fan again. I have a neurological disorder called diopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). It's a condition where there is increased pressure inside the skull without there being a brain tumor. The exact cause of pseudotumor cerebri is unknown, but it is thought to be related to an imbalance in the production or absorption of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the fluid that cushions the brain and spinal cord. 

It is rare (1 in 100,000) but more common in women of child bearing age. However, my daughters have a 50% chance of getting it. Well, my youngest the 9-year-old started having headaches, so I took her to the eye doctor and they found brain swelling. After a terrifying week, we got an MRI, and we find out she has my condition. My twelve-year-old son then goes in for his regular eye exam, and guess what they found. The chances of him having this were less that 1% but here we are.

On the positive, unlike me, it was caught in time and there has been no damage. They are also responding very well to a low sodium diet. However, learning the ins and outs of a low sodium diet for everyone is a bit exhausting, so you can imagine why I just don't have it in me for anything else. This could have been way worse, so I'm thankful for the blessings I've received, but there is a whole lot of adjusting going on.

I have, however, started watching Unnatural Fire and listening to the audiobook of Malicious Empress of Military Lineage. If you try either one of these, let me know what you think.
