MUD FARM 2. Mactan Urban Demonstration Farm in Lapu-Lapu City

We are re-developing our Urban Demo Farm better, bigger, and more beautiful. We have also added an Organic Farmers Market and lecture area. Our #1 Mission is to convince and teach urban dwellers to garden even if they live in concrete jungles. Our motto is: "No unfertile soil with a fertile mind." Please come and visit our garden. Take a farm tour of your school, family, church, and even co-workers. Learn how to grow food the organic and healthy way. Reduce carbon foot print from as far away as other countries. We are a school with out walls, classroom with out ceiling, sky is the limit, with God, nothing is impossible. To be a self-sustaining program and pay our staff and student workers, we charge entrance fee, sell our plants, goats, chicken, pigs, fish, etc. We also conduct seminars, private tutorials, and consultation with pay. We sell goat milk, goat milk cheese, native products from our livelihood programs. We also conduct farm tours for Arapal, a rural farm in Northern Cebu that is fast becoming an Agri Tourist Destination Capital of Cebu. We are developing an Urban Demonstration Farm on a 1500 square foot lot using different methods like vermi-culture, vertical gardening, aquaponics. square foot gardening, multi-tiered gardening, etc. We hope to produce enough food for a dozen of our students. What they cannot eat, they can sell. They can conduct tours on how to grow your own organic food even if the soil is bad. There will be sampling of farming models including bee keeping, goat raising, pig farming, free range chicken, etc. We will also have a couple of toilets that does not use water or chemicals. A bio-sand filter will also be available for viewing. We will have a colony of bees, a pair of goats and a pair of pigs along with some free range chicken. We want to use this to educate Cebu residents that they can grow food even in slum areas and clean their surroundings at the same time. Even if they are poor, their environment does not have to be dark, dreary, and depressing. It does not have to smell bad and look trashy. Slums can be bursting with life and food. The poor don't have to be hungry and they do not have to constantly live in poverty. There is a way out. Our demonstration farm will serve as classroom with out walls, school with out ceiling. Sky is the limit. With God, nothing is impossible. Check us out. There is a tour fee of P30 per head. We can also conduct seminars and training in-house or on location upon request. To be sustainable and fair, we charge for our services and training. We will also sell seeds and other organic garden materials. Most of our tour guides are college students we are supporting through school. This program will help us fund their education.
