Some people in fandom need to be a hair more resilient and take things in stride. Whether it's just seeing a headcanon they hate and being able to click "block" or "mute post", or seeing someone with a Really Bad Take and being able to roll their eyes and go to another page without making a scene. Sometimes you just need to say, "you know, I've seen enough, and I don't want to self-harm by getting into a huge internet fist fight over this ultimately inconsequential thing I saw, from a person I'll never meet off the internet."

Before anyone asks, yes, 99% of the times this is said the ship content was in its proper lane and the characters aren’t canonically confirmed gay (Idc how “gay coded” you argue the characters are it’s still an annoying response)

Could I send in a fandom problem? If this hasn’t been mentioned yet I always found it very uncomfortable the way people can take non-heterosexual ships and make it their mission to portray someone as a feminine ‘helpless tiny shy bean’ who is almost always dominated by their spouse who is super masculine as a contrast.

Theres nothing wrong with adding headcannons on how you interpret them beyond or with what we see in media their, but tossing them to opposite ends of a feminine-masculine spectrum and switching their personalities and hobbies to more traditionally ‘feminine’ or ‘masculine’ ones rubs me the wrong way.

Sam who likes photography, reading and going out for runs is suddenly just a ‘cute feminine bottom’ with no other notable personality traits or interests while Alex who likes to wear jackets, bake different kinds of bread, and study geography is reduced to ‘Alpha Top™️ who protects Sam’. I can’t help but see it as pushing their personalities out of the way for a vibe that just screams “so who is the man/woman in the relationship?”
