Oh. Alastor would. And he would enjoy every - single - second of ripping Vox's soul until it was little more than shreads and spending the rest of eternity listening to him scream from the pit he'd soon be calling home. Their history meant nothing to Alastor ; not if he was going to be in his way.

Pressure is applied with more force as Vox continues to squirm and move, the gore-like drool dripping from his teeth and falling into the cracked screen that was his face.

"Your soul? Please. ₩Ⱨ₳₮ ł₴ ɎØɄⱤ ₴ØɄⱠ ₩ØⱤ₮Ⱨ ₮Ø ₥Ɇ?"

He wants to drive home how insignificant Vox was to him. So unimportant that not even his soul was worth taking.

"No one has to know what transpired here tonight. Your fellow Vee's are none the wiser you came against me and lost. No one will know you are inches from death. Your reputation remains unchanged and your image in tact. Tonight never happened."

The ultimate card. Not only his freedom but everything he held dear still secure.

"In exchange - You are going to siphon souls to me."

Vox was scared.

Vox was a carefully curated image of a man: strong, sharp, and perfect-- too perfect for base emotions like fear-- and, still, he was scared. Terrified out of his mind, and humiliated at that fact.

He hadn't realized Alastor was going to touch the screen again until it was already happening.

The defeated Overlord cringed, a pained hiss leaving what remained of his mouth at the feeling. He flailed to grab one of the other man's wrists, but he was dizzy and his hands were weak.

Alastor tipped Vox's chin up.

Vox tore his eyes away.

"You wouldn't," Vox whispered. A plea, a challenge-- he didn't know.

Had he been anyone but himself, he'd have liked to see if Alastor really would go through with tearing Vox's soul apart should Vox push him there. Unfortunately, Vox was Vox, and that was his soul on the butcher's slab.

No, thank you, Alastor.

Vox twisted underneath him, trying to find where his phone was, if he hadn't lost it in the fight and it wasn't broken. If he could just call Val and Velvette for backup, they could finish Alastor off, or distract the older man long enough to get Vox to safety.

"What is it?" the defeated Overlord gritted out. "Let me guess-- you want my sou- sss- soul?"

Alastor does not know he is aromatic or asexual. He doesn't know what those are or what they mean. Unless you are CLOSE to Alastor and your muse knows these terms, your muse does not know either. No meta-gaming. It's very unlikely your muse would know this. If in doubt absolutely ask, but no injecting ooc knowledge ic.

Same goes for Angel. He is genderfluid / genderqueer. Doesn't know what those words mean. Doesn't care. No muse will see or know him as anything other than a man. No metagaming. None.

so i never know how to really ask this generally but uh ; if we've written a bit and click and you wanna be showcased on my [ partying in hell with ] / [ showing favorism for ], give it a like.

this is largely for folks i've written a bit with; constant ooc isn't a requirement but i do like chatting with my rp partners when i got time ~ and also i don't expect the same so if you don't show mains / affiliates w/e that's totally fine to still like it. it's not a tit for tat. just me showing appreciation.

"Does it matter who asked first?" Alastor sure didn't think so, but of course he knew the former Overlord was down on his luck.

"I offered a deal and he accepted the terms. If the man had taught himself how to count cards and shuffle the deck in his favor, he wouldn't be spit-shining glasses right now~"

The irony that his pet had fondness for magic - but the rush of a good gamble doesn't quite hit when you know there's no risk. And that was his folly.

so something i noticed in that gifset validated a 'headcanon' that was written out / demonstrated in my thread with @hazbinned

when alastor slams husk's leash around his neck and starts walking towards him - the leash actually disappears very quickly.

when alastor leans down to get in his FACE - it's gone.

when alastor is showing complete and total dominance over somebody, he may use his powers to break their kneecaps and get them down to the ground, but when he's OVER you - he won't use his powers to hold you there. he won't use them to pin you. he won't use them to compensate as if he needs it.

the fear and otherwise pure state of HELPLESSNESS you're in is going to hold you there FOR him, without him doing a damn thing more. you are going to be pinned down by your own terror, by your own cowardice, by your own knowledge there is nothing you can do that's going to save or help you than submission. this is domination.

fear is a weapon and far more effective at keeping others in control than brute force ever will be in alastor's opinion. a blade can end a life. fear can end an empire.

alastor is portrayed as having anti-social personality disorder here.

while people with ASPD do love, it's not the love neurotypicals feel. love is a transaction and he doesn't see this as a bad thing. the more you bring to his life, the more he'll bring to yours and more investment he'll have in this relationship. there is hardly an ally you want more in your corner and his loyalty doesn't shake easily.

however - once it does shake - regardless of what you were to him. regardless of what you had. regardless if you knew him long enough to know him when he was alive, regardless how many years in servitude, regardless of being a genuine friend or a lover - once that threshold is crossed, you are dead to him. he doesn't feel empathy and his compassion is effectively withdrawn. what ever was is nothing but flames with no emotional attachments or triggers or anything lingering to reminisce or mourn. when he cuts people out, they're cut out like a cancer and he does not look back. the past means nothing to him. he WILL weaponize everything he knows about you to get to you too with absolutely nothing being off limits.

if he doesn't hate you and promptly isn't interested in revenge, you go on existing. if he is going after revenge - you're a voice in his radio if you're unlucky to get caught by him.
