Making the eyes and all that.” He adds, gesturing a hand before it grabs his own drink, taking a moment for a sip before the glass rests back on the coaster.

“That said. Nothing else from you? Not even a name? Pleasant conversation..?” The smirk on his expression spreads wider across his features, and brows lift as he turns slowly on his stool. “Maybe I should take myself elsewhere. You mentioned easier victims?”

“Of course, my mistake. There is no way you are even the tiniest bit threatening.” He had an air about him that screamed predator, and Malinalli knew well enough to trust her gut. If it told her that the man in front of her was dangerous, then he was. Not that it meant she couldn’t have fun with it, of course, it simply meant she had to be more careful of what she said. “Even with the puppy dog eyes. I have grown immune to those, sweetheart.”

“A name I can give you, and pleasant conversation too, if I get a name in return.” Laughing, she rolled her shoulders and glanced around the room. “Malinalli is the name, and the woman by the left corner has been staring at you for a while. Easy prey, and just drunk enough not to remember being robbed.”

She had known from the moment she spoke up that there was little to no chance of their conversation ending well, but Malinalli had spoken up nonetheless. There was certain pleasure in interacting with those coming from the so-called “Latin-Americans” and she was willing to face the risks if it meant she could experience said pleasure once again. It was a reminder of home she could cherish for a moment, before it was tainted by the hate she deserved. A sentiment she also cherished. Being hated was delicious.

“Un placer, señor.” Not paying any mind to the terrifying figure he could cut, they had seen much worse in Chaldea- even if that sack of bones was picking her curiosity-, she continued on smiling quite cheerfully. “Mi nombre es Malinalli, pero me también me conocen como Marina. Soy de la peninsula de  Yucatán.”

        he’s just about to kiss her again when her words stop him in his tracks. a single eyebrow quirking upward at the remark, a combination of amusement and regret. ❝oh, that’s cruel, isn’t it? i confide in you my secret and you use it against me?❞ he pushes out a chuckle, leaning down once again as if going for another kiss, then he pulls back abruptly, this time slipping out entirely from her arms. he doesn’t move back to his side of the couch, but he’s out of her reach now.

         ❝and i was going to say: forget the concert; ever done it on top of a skyscraper? but, now,❞ he pauses, shakes his head, clicks his tongue as if he’s disappointed. if only he was better at keeping up the façade—the amusement still shows clearly on his features, downplaying any attempt at sounding serious. but he keeps going despite it. ❝—maybe you don’t deserve either.❞

“Shame. I had been excited about trying something new.” Catching his reaction, she looked at him with a spark, and noted down to herself that apparently nails worked very well if she wanted to get a rise out of him. Smirking, she used her nails again. “Oh? This? I would love to do this and more, but if shower sex isn’t all it is said to be, do you have any other suggestions?”

As swiftly as the kisses had began, they ended, and all she raises an eyebrow at his unexpected departure. Lowering the hands that had been on his neck, she glanced at him steadily, before answering, her amusement obvious on her tone. “All is fair in love and way, darling.” Letting the term of endearment roll on her tongue, she sent him an air kiss.

“Oh?” Now that was interesting. Playful tone noted, she deliberated a couple of seconds before deciding how to continue. A thought floating into her head, she sent him a filthy smile and allowed her tone to turn promising. “What if I promise to make it worth your while? I am splendid company, I assure you.”

“Well, I have been praised for my keen powers of observation.” She made no effort to hide the sarcastic tilt of her words, before continuing. “I am just that aware of my surroundings.”

Malinalli was well aware she was being watched, and while she wasn’t quite sure why, she was more than willing enough to wait for her fellow Servant to explain himself. There was only so much to do on Chaldea, and new conversation partners were always welcomed. 

Turning to face him, she placed her chin in her hands and gazed at the Servant steadily, not paying any particular attention to his odd features. There were plenty of people with similarly oddities in Chaldea, after all.

Raising an eyebrow as a show to surprise, she nodded. “While I am not sure about the relatives part, I am very interested to hear about your story. It is always nice to meet another fellow that comes from the same culture as I do.”

He opened his mouth as if to say something, only this time ‘everyone’– didn’t decide to step in. Not as in their encounter four centuries earlier. Not because no one felt like it, he thought, but because there was no one left to do so. Even in death the spirit of fate was not yet so sparing.

Hans was standing quietly at their doorway. The morning wave of servants was at his back, beginning to wake up by the look and sound of it, and he was gazing at the woman right in front him.

“You probably don’t know this, but I was alive around the same time as you. I mean sure, my journey took me in a different sort of direction but that practically makes us something like distant relatives, don’t cha think?”

Blue-green eyes rolled at her. “Threats aren’t really my style. Besides, you don’t seem like the type that would respond to that at all… For all I know you might take it the wrong way and I’ll be permanently stuck with you” He shoved the passenger door shut as he went around to the other side and got in. Really, he didn’t want to put up with this right now and he wasn’t the threatening type. If she needed to be silenced, the higher ups could do that themselves.

He was still too busy cursing himself to care much about her taunting, though she was a bit surprised how easily she got into the car. She was either very stupid, very brave, or far too confident for her own good. It wasn’t his baggage to deal with. He started the car and started driving back to the base.

“I can find myself agreeing with you. Nothing you could do to my would end up actually sticking, and being attacked mostly serves to piss me up, so you deserve a gold star for your thoughtful deliberation.” Malinalli could feel the annoyance coming off from the newest curiosity, and she found herself enjoying it. It was always oh so amusing when she could both confuse and frustrate the new pawns. Specially when they were such dangerous pawns, it only made things interesting.

Leaning back in her sit and faking a cheerful relaxness, she made sure to memorize the streets they passed. It would be just terrible if she got lost after such an exciting find. “Anyway, are you a Supernatural Hunter or member of another random shady organization?”

“WELL,“ Souji laughs quietly at the sentiment posed to him by the other. He plunges his weapon into the ground, using it as some sort of makeshift cane to pull him up from his seat – chest still heavy but definitely getting better as they wasted more time waiting around. Such an act would certainly blunt his katana’s tip, but he couldn’t bother to care about it just yet. After all, anything can be used as a weapon if one simply tried hard enough.

“It’s good to know I’m at least useful for something other than swinging my sword around. Even better that my ‘ wit ‘ is some form of entertainment to such a lovely lady. But we’re not together for funny banter, so we ought to get moving.”

“Of course,” nodding once, she let her arm fall to her Macuahuitl to reassure herself that the binding was still in place, Once that was done, she gestured for her companion to come by her side. They knew not what lied in the woods, and it was better not to walk too far apart in case they were ambushed. Malinalli held no illusions of her prowess in battle, she knew what made her a desirable Servant were not her skills with her weapons, but her sharp mind and her Noble Phantasm. She would not do well alone in the woods. 

“Oh, but dear, I appreciate you not only by your sword. Your skills are quite admirable, but the view also pairs quite nicely with them. Now, let’s depart.”
