I was thinking, a request for Xavier based on the song Meddle About by Chase Atlantic. It’s sort of enemies to lovers and when Xavier realises how bad he has it for the reader he literally can’t stop thinking about them and it makes him ‘meaner’ if you catch my drift 😉
you already got me feeling some type of way: Xavier thorpe x Reader
Word count: 1722
Tumblr media
(Y/n) irritates me so much. The way they constantly yap and yap about things no one cares about. The way they go around making friends with everyone. For some reason, they just attract everyone. How they talk hooks, everyone, voice inciting people you wouldn't expect. Their eyes looking deep into yours, you just get lost in them.
It's almost... addicting.
What the hell am I thinking? Xavier's thoughts came to a halt. The lead of his pencil broke under the pressure of his hand. "Shit." He mutters, dropping the pencil on the paper. It rolled for a moment, getting close to the edge of the table.
"This is why I can't stand you (y/n)" He said in an empty room, tapping his finger against the paper. The drawing hidden by his hand was you. A perfect picture drawn of you, every detail captured on a piece of paper. Xavier looked at it disapproving, slightly sucking in his cheek before pinching it between his teeth. He took the paper, his eyes wandering around the paper examining his drawing.
Moments later, it was destroyed. Shredded bits of paper littering the ground. The drawings in ruins but Xavier felt more relieved than anything.
The morning was bitter, Xavier walking into class with a brewing expression. You noticed how he's been coming into every class pissed off. His brows facing downwards in a solid frown. "Awwe, did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" You decide to tease at his irked expression. "Can you not shut the fuck up for one minute? God." Xavier replied in a snappy voice, shooting you a harsh glare causing you to be taken back. Yeah he was a jerk... but never this bad. "Jeez." Enid whispered beside you, raising her brows. You look at Xavier with a judging look in your eye, skimming over him. He was slightly hunched and tense. You wondered what could be getting on his nerves. Ignoring him for the rest of the period, taking to Enid instead.
"I wonder what's got him so roughed up... he's been more pissy than usual" Enid sighed as he glanced over to the shut-off man doodling on his paper. You roll your eyes, resting your hand within your plam. "He's just being the usual dick head. Everything pisses him off... maybe he's finally hitting the puberty he's been waiting for." You say with a scoff, slightly laughing at your own comment. Enid giggling along with you.
Hands slammed against your desk, some of your books shaking and pencils rolling off the table. You quickly lookup to see Xaviers scowling eyes looking at you. His nose slightly flared and jaw clenched tight. "You act as if I can't fucking hear you. You are some nasty piece of shit aren't you (y/n) always in everyone else's business but youselfs." He seethed at you, his body closing in on yours. His anger was real. Enid standing up in your defence, pushing Xavier back off your end of the table. "Chill the hell out Xavier." Enid spoke on your behalf, glaring right back at him as he stumbled over his feet. With one more look at you, Xavier turned to leave the class. Not even taking his stuff on the way out.
Being left in utter awe, you kept staring at the place Xavier stood one second ago. "You alright?" Enid sat back down calmly, reaching for your clenched hand. The sensation of her nails tapping against your skin bringing you back down to earth. Shaking yourself off you look at Enid with a faux smile.
"Oh yeah, why would I let him get to me." You brush off, shrugging your shoulders. Enid gave you that look, the look saying 'bitch I know you're lying.' She read right through the facade you put up.
It did get to you however as ridiculous as it was.
The bell screaming at you to leave your class, you didn't waste any time doing just that. Leaving Enid hanging unintentionally while you rushed to the door. You go to the most obvious location on where Xavier was. You needed to know what the hell was up with him.
The leaves scattered across the ground were damp from the rain earlier. Small puddles formed in the uneven earth. Parts of your having mud covering them, what a bummer. Approaching the door, the lock hanging loose on a thick chain that usually kept the doors tightly locked.
Xavier was in there, he had to be.
Inviting youself inside, not even caring to knock on the door. Xavier was hidden behind a tall canvas, you could just see his legs poking under the legs of the easel. His hand dropped down by his side, a paint brush held tightly in his fingers.
"You really can't leave me alone can you?" He spoke up, his voice was dark. Part of Xavier's face crept from the side of the painting. His eyes sharp on you.
"Xavier you say that as if I cling to your side... get a grip. I want to know why you are being such a dick." As you talked you approached the small table sitting beside Xavier, leaning against the wood that was covered in all sorts of paints and colours. You look over at Xavier, he turned the painting away from you. His attention back on you. "You wanna know why I'm such a dick? Well, sit and listen then." He snarled at you, getting closer to you unnoticed. You weren't paying much attention, looking down at your nails and picking at the cuticles of your nails. Pushing the dead skin back away from your nails. The lack of attention only got on Xavier's nerves even more, grabbing your hand to take away the distraction.
"Like I told you. You won't leave me alone. I see you everywhere, I can hear your voice at the back of my head with your face engraved in my mind. I can't stop thinking about you. Everything sucks me back into this wrap hole to do with you. And I can't stand it." Xavier spoke out, his eyes set on yours not even blinking as he spoke. His eyes reach deep into your soul. The earthy tones in his eyes dark and dimmer than usual. Xavier put his hand down next to you on the wooden table - getting extra close to you in his angry moment.
With no reply prepared for this moment, you ended up just staring back at the face that met yours. That was one hell of a confession. "Are you out of your mind Xavier?" You shake your head, leaning back further away from him.
"Yes! Yes. I am out of my fucking mind because you are all I'm able to think about and I want you." He hits his fist back down on the table, his knuckles going red. Parts of his face getting softer. His eyes were the first, the glare turning into a saddened look on his face. Xavier brought his eyes back onto yours, swallowing the hard lump in his throat that restricted his throat. "I hate you, so much." Xavier told you, coy. He didn't really mean it did he. He sighed, taking a step away from you while running his hand through his hair trying to compose himself.
Being unable to move, you watched him leaving you and head back to the mysterious painting that he looked at with a pondering expression. "I made you look too good in this painting." Xavier raised his brow, staring at the painting before turning it to face you. You stare again the drawing in front of you and back to Xavier who was suddenly very close to you. "Look at what I've become because of you (y/n)." He kept pinning all his troubles onto you. "It's crazy that you can make anyone feel this was." Xaviers eyes were locked with the painting, trouble in his eyes but eventually he turned back to look at the real you. Still frozen on the small wooden desk, having no idea how to reply to this.
Walking closer to you Xavier yet again rested his hands either side of you. Analysing you and the look on your face. "You look stupid." He commented, reaching to hold your face - pointing you face towards his. "I don't think you'll ever stop torturing my mind the way you do." He leaned in, giving into his urges he'd had for so long. Holding your face tighter, unintentionally pinching your face while he kissed you. For a moment just himself sink into your lips as get a feel of you.
"I've already regretted what I've done but, theres no point holding anything back now." He said right after pulling away from you. Not giving you even a moment to process what had just happened. You look up at him, batting your eyes as you tried to make sense of it but the taste on your lips distracted you from it all. Xavier leaned down to your ear, your smell overwhelming him. He reached to hold you close, grabbing roughly at your clothes to pull you in closer to himself.
You wanted this, as bad as it sounded you liked Xavier. Feelings kicked from nowhere for you, stirring up you'd stomach and giving into Xaviers rough hold. You push him away however. Looking at him for second before speaking. "Slow down there... do you think I'm over what you said earlier?" You raise your brow, finally moving away from the table you'd been stuck at for minutes. Heading to the exit of the shed, you look back at Xavier. "I'll be expecting a formal apology Xavier Thorpe." You grin at him, just teasing him and pulling him on in this little game before you leave him all to himself. The cool air never feeling as good as this. It was so refreshing against your warm body.
Xavier stood empty-handed at the door, watching as you left as he sucked in his cheeks biting them. He looked down at the ground with a slight smirk on his face. "Well Xavier, you can't go back now." He spoke to himself in third person, with a small sigh before he looked back at the painting of you. Xavier could loose himself in it for hours.

Can you please make a xavier x Reader BUT it's like the fake dating trope because he wants Binaca to leave him alone but he acts like he hates it but later on it turns into something real? THIS IS MY FAV TROPE
Follow the plan - Xavier Thorpe x Reader
Plot : Xavier asks you to get into a fake relationship to avoid confrontation with Bianca. Will this fake relationship stay fake? Or will one of you catch feelings quicker than expected.
Warning(s): small amount of drinking, very few swear words here n there.
Word count : 3,342
Tumblr media
"So I heard you are Xavier are a thing now." It was obvious who was talking to you, it was no other but Bianca who sat crossed-legged and held a thin pen in her hand. If it wasn't for her tone, you'd be able to tell by the sour expression she wasn't happy. "Aha, yeah it's a long story." Yeah right, there was no story at all - the two of you weren't even a thing. Xavier was just fat to desperate to get Bianca to leave him alone. Awkward. You received an unsure look from Bianca as her eyes skimmed you up and down. "Unbelievable." You heard her muttering under her breath while rummaging through her stuff. This was the worst you think to yourself, chewing on the tip of your pen to try reduce the amount of nervousness that brewed inside you. It wasn't easy going around lying about some relationship you had with some guy you were only 'pally' with.
At least Xavier was committed to the role as your fake boyfriend. He came up to you after class, proceeding to reach out to your hand and hold it with a bring smile on his face. His acting wasn't half bad. "I can't wait to get to my dorm." Xavier muttered through his plastered smile. You tried to resist the urge to roll your eyes at his snarky comment. Trying to get out the site of people was hard when Xavier had to stop, like millions of time to talk to a whole assortment of people. Eventually, after what you thought was hours you reached his dorm. Not even a moment after the door shut, your hand was dropped back down to your side.
"Xavier If you hate the idea so much then why the hell did you ask?! You keep complaining even though this was YOUR idea might I tell you." You ask slightly frustrated, rubbing your hand off your blazer to wipe away the thin coat of sweat that has accumulated while you held Xavier's hand - his hands were always so warm. That's beside the point. Xavier was busy dumping his stuff besides his bed, trying to quickly take off one of the many layers he had on. You still stood there like an idiot waiting for some kind of response. But you weren't the patient type, your brows clustered together. Skin folding over as your brows furrowed in sheer annoyance. "Xavier don't avoid the question." You decided to speak up once again, but it only seemed to irritate Xavier more. A loud huff came from him as he threw off his hoodie and turned to you - finally willing to talk.
"Look I have no other option. There's no one else this would work with and this was my last option. Obviously I'm not happy about it." Xavier sneered while looking through his stuff, his voice sounding so sarcastic as if he expected you to know this already. It infuriated you. Gritting your teeth for a brief moment, grounding yourself with a deep breath you became calm once again. "Boohoo, I'm sorry you aren't happy with your own ideas. Maybe if you talked to Bianca-" you talk childishly eyeing Xaviers rigid movements. Xaviers voice overlapped yours. "I have tried talking to her. If you used your common sense you'd think that's the first thing I did."
Biting down on your tongue, keeping down whatever nasty words you had lined up for him. You take in a deep breath. "You make it very hard to act like your partner when you kick off like this." You left the room before that conversation could escalate any further, knowing Xavier's temper that would be highly likely.
"(Y/n) wanna come to my birthday party later on the week, your boyfriend will be there...so you are sorta obliged to go." Ajax's voice cheery as ever, half-lidded eyes staring at you waiting for a reply of some sort. Pondering about it, you weighed out the pros and cons of the situation as you looked off into the blank white wall that was a little too bright. "Sure, sounds good to me." You settle on a decision with a glistening smile on your face. Xavier sat a row behind you, listening carefully to the conversation. Eyes narrow and averted from you but he was all ears. His pencil placed against the untouched page underneath his arms. Since your small argument with him from the week before, he seemed to have changed his attitude towards you.
Staring back into the mirror to see a miserable face staring back at you, was it really a good idea to go to this party? Loud people, incoherent music that just blasts uncomfortably, all sorts of smells mixed to make a perfect concoction of overstimulated. What was there not to love right? You got yourself ready despite all the thoughts rushing through your hair. Adjusting small things before leaving, phone clutched in hand. You looked out of the thin planes of glass, it was already getting dark outside. In attempts to distract yourself.
A few steps into your walk, someone joined your side. Hands shoved deep in their pockets with hair up. It was no other but your quote on quote - boyfriend Xavier. "It would be weird if she showed up at different times, so It's good I caught you now." His voice was low, slightly husky as If he'd just woken up. "You have a fair point I suppose." Xavier slowed down his steps to not outwalk you to the party, you were just strolling. The place where this party was hosted wasn't far from the college you both worked at, thankfully; the walk was painfully silent. Neither of you talking between each other but you could just faintly pick up his shallow breathing. "So, did you get yourself for Ajax? He's your best friend after all." You speak up, breaking the awkward silence that sat like a thick wall between you. Xavier scoffed slightly. "He's already gotten his gift, he's definitely not getting another one from me." A small laugh was forced out of you, it made your shoulders relax and drop naturally down your back.
You weren't even in the building and you heard the music blasting through the walls of the building that was accompanied by nauseating bright lights. Xavier shoots you a quick glance - wishing you luck before you welcome yourself into the noise. "Hey! You both came, and I assumed you weren't going to show up. We are gonna play a few games later on, so go ahead and grab yourself drinks and food." Ajax spoke loudly over the music, trying to out-compete the volume of the music. He looked over to his best friend and Xavier walked away with Ajax into the crowd of people. "Well fucking great." You mutter under your breath, taking a quick glance around to see where you could take shelter. Some familiar faces go by you - Enid and some other people you saw around her before. You greet them with the same generic smile but Enid being Enid... she rushes after you, trying to compose her giddy nature as she approached you.
"Soooo, is it true?" Enid creeps up on you, her bubbly tone matching the sweet look on her face - As always, her outfit was amazing. It took you a moment to muster a reply with the loud music crashing over your thoughts. "Well, yeah if you are talking about me and Xavier." You respond as genuinely as you could, but your mind set on the drinks bar not far from reach. Enid glued to your side, holding your arm in excitement as she squeals. As per usual, she was more excited than you were. "Oh my god! I'm so happy. Do you know how long he's liked you for? Like crazy long! If it wasn't for Binaca getting in the way he would have totes asked you out sooner!" Enid rambled, sounding so relieved by the end of it. She stood there smiling at you, ear to ear. Her white teeth poking from her lips. Don't act surprised. Don't act surprised! You yelled at yourself, slightly freezing after she finished talking.
Your face twisted in a funny expression as you forced out a laugh, grabbing a drink. The glass was so cold against your skin. It helped you cool down. "Aw he never told me that... he must have been so embarrassed to say to." You answer slowly as you peer over the heads of many people, trying to find the tall lanky man. You narrowed your eyes - nitpicking the crowed but he wasn't too far away. Xavier felt eyes on him, he looked up and met eyes with you. A smile appearing on his face as he looked away again from you. "You guys are so sweet, I'm gushing over it." Enid cosied up to your side, wrapping her arm around you pulling you in for a hug. Her fluffy coat brushing against your face, slightly tickling you while you gave into the affectation hug. "Now we both have boyfriends... ohmy! We should go on double dates (y/n)!" Enid gasped as she thought of the idea, her whole face lightly up as she jolted away from you. And all you could do was nod and laugh, pretending like you didn't hear what she said earlier.
Easier said than done, you couldn't forget what she said. Sipping on the same drink for twenty-odd minutes, the glass had gone warm in your hold. You stood on your own by the drink bar where Enid left you after going on and on about all the things you guys should do as a couples. You almost jumped out of your skin when Ajax was suddenly in front of you. Started, you look at Ajax wide-eyed for a few moments. "Jeez... you can't jump up on people." You sigh, sinking back into you'd skin. "Join in the game of truth and dare with a few shots? Each one you miss you take one." That was too many bad ideas.
You shake your head reluctant on the idea scrunching up your nose slightly. "Ehh... I think I'll pass you on that one Ajax." You gave him a weary smile for compensation. Ajax looked at you with a pleading look on his face. "Oh come on, it's my birthday! Have some fun." He didn't give you a choice. Ajax took hold of your arm before dragging you back to the crowed. "Hey!" You call out surprised, but that stopped no one. You were pushed next to Xavier, bumping against his side. Ajax smirking at you. "Thanks for leaving me not even five minutes in." You said while looking up at Xavier. His eyes pierced down on you as the hue of his eyes changed to the flashing lights. He replied with a smug look on his face. It was no use talking to him. You look back down to the ground, slight disappointment brewing in your expression. Eyes picking up the small details of the floor that was slightly shiny with a coat of varnish that was properly not put on that long ago. Without saying anything, Xavier's arm weaved around your waist - bringing you closer to his body. He didn't look at you. But his hand placed comfortably on your hip where he began to draw small shapes with his fingertip. His nail brushing against the material of your outfit. It was slightly ticklish.
You felt your face heating up... you didn't remember him being this affectionate infront of people. Looking up at him, gazing at his sharp jaw defined by the lighting above us. His lips trying to hide a grin from you. But as you looked at him, tracing his side profile with your eyes - you thought to yourself of all the things Enid told you earlier about Xavier and most of all...was it true?
Most of the questions that went around were all about you and Xavier. You stayed on the safe side and kept picking truth. "Is it true Xavier asked you out first?" Ajax wiggled his brows at you with a stupid drunk grin. You sigh momentarily as this was yet another question about you guys. "Yeah, he was shy about it as well." If you were gonna make stuff up about your relationship, why not make it fun? Xavier looked down at you unimpressed. Xavier had more balls than you, he wasn't scared to pick a dare occasionally though... most of them were stupid. But it was his turn right after yours. "Xavier truth or dare?" Ajax asked him with a dawning smirk on his face, he was planning something. "Hmmm... dare." Ajax's face lit up with joy he quickly placed his glass down 6 the table. "Kiss (y/n) we haven't seen you kiss yet despite being in a relationship for a while." Ajax looked back and forth between the both of you, adjusting his beanie - pushing it back.
Xavier taking a moment to process what was asked of him, mouth slightly parted in disbelief but the same went for you. There was no way Xavier would do this - oh you were proven wrong. "Alright." He shrugged his shoulders a lot calmer than before he turned his body towards you. His gaze laid upon you. You weren't ready for this, not in front of everyone?! Trying to take a step away from Xavier, in slightly hesitation of what was coming but he locked his arm around you bringing you back closer to himself. "Come on don't get shy now." Xavier said that on purpose to make you go even more red as he leaned into you. You couldn't do anything, you were a deer stuck in headlights. Whole body frozen and giving into the control of Xavier. His hand hooked under your jaw, adjusting your stiff neck to look towards him instead it directly ahead of you. You met his eyes, there was something about them. His lashes that curled away from his eyes, leaving that slightly greeny colour to enchant you.
Taking in a deep breath, you could smell his cologne. It wasn't bad. Xavier didn't waste any time kissing you, and it seemed like you didn't care if it was in front of everyone. His hand was still tucked under your jaw which he had a firm hold on as he pulled you in closer. The taste of tangy alcohol was shared between you, it slightly burned at your lips but... in a good way. You built up the courage to move your lips against him, holding onto his arm. Clutching onto the soft fabric between your fingers. "Okay wow! You can stop now we didn't ask for a make-out sesh!" Ajax butted in, grabbing Xavier's arm to jerk him away from you. Your lips broke apart at that moment, but his eyes still fixated on yours. Embarrassment flushed all over you. Cowardly you broke the immense eye contact first. "Jeez get a room." Ajax rolled his eyes, he was a big hypocrite. "Gosh stop complaining, you literally asked to see it." Xavier spoke up in an unimpressed voice, he raised his hand to his hair pushing the loose stands away from his face. For a moment he looked at you again.
You couldn't face him, no way! Not after that. So you retreated to the hidden away table that faced away from everyone. A nice quiet space with nice fluffed-out couches. "Pffh" You puff out, finally being able to hear your thoughts. The comfortable cushions embraced you into their hold, the tension leaving your body now that you leaned against the pillows. For the rest of the time, you scrolled on your phone zoning out from the rest of the world. Everything for a slur of words, it all blended in the back as the bright screen faced you. Quite a while passed and still you were left unbothered - well so you hoped so.
"Great of you to run away after our first kiss." Xavier sat next to you, putting his arm around the back of the couch. His hand dangling down. "Well, what did you expect sherlock? We aren't even a thing which makes it worse. You could have said no, Bianca wasn't even here." You went on, picking at the skin around your nail beds. Your eyes strictly averted from Xavier. You felt yourself shrink into the couch in his presence. "What if it didn't want to say no?" Xavier scratched the back of his head, talking casually with little care behind his tone. "Don't take the fucking piss, Xavier." You say putting your hand down, placing it underneath your leg. It was warm and after a few moments, your hand went numb. You could hear a faint sigh leaving Xavier's mouth while he moved up closer to you. "What if I'm not taking the piss either?" He spoke up again, his hand finding itself on your shoulder. Dragging his fingers across the solid bone. You tut in disapproval, jumping your shoulder to rid of his arm before you turned to face him. His face was so much closer than expected, you forgot all your words for a moment. "How much have you drank?" You push out, because there was no way he was acting like this normally. "I'm not drunk (y/n) just listen to what I'm saying instead of ignoring it!" Xavier put his head back in frustration, his brows screwed up. Seeing him this frustrated, you wanted to hear him out.
"Well what is it? What are you trying to tell me, Xavier?" You sounded eager to hear just what in the world he wanted to tell you. You watched as his brows unfolded and he stared at the ceiling. "What I'm saying is... that maybe this fake dating thing shouldn't be fake."
"What the hell are you saying, Xavier?" You ask in utter denial while you push yourself up on the couch fixing your posture. Xavier mirrored what you did. Sitting up - his body towering over yours immediately. His daunting figure looks down at you with a serious look in his eyes. "I'm saying that I fucking like you and I like this little thing between us. What are you not hearing (y/n)" Xavier said it word by word to make sure you definable heard him and what he was saying. Even then, you were at a loss for all your words. You stared back at him with confusion written all over your face. Xavier grunted as he turned his face away from you. "You are so slow." He muttered, the music overlapping his quiet voice.
"No I get what you said... but you were literally complaining about this? About this whole dating thingy and now you are saying this? Xavier make up your mind!" You told him in disbelief, shaking your head slightly at his frustrating behaviour.
"I have. I have made up my mind. And I want to be with you, actually. Not as some gimmick. I was complaining because I was annoyed that I was actually wanting to be with you. That's why I picked you of all people to go ahead with this." Xavier let it all spill. So, Enid wasn't messing around when she told you everything. A slight grin tugged at the corner of your lips. "Maybe If didn't keep all of this till the last minute, then you wouldn't have been so frustrated." You shrug your shoulders, reaching for his hand. Taking it into yours. It made him turn back to face you, his sharper expression melting down with your touch.
"So, is that a yes?"
"Maybe." You replied with a slightly laugh after you spoke. "I take that as yes." He leaned into kiss you again. Holding his hair out of the way while he leaned into your face, both of you slightly giggling. "But hey... we still can't tell people that it was fake in the first place." Xavier told you before he pressed his lips onto yours.

Xavier x Reader - Maybe a few more lessons. Pt 12
Plot - During second term, you join Nevermore Academy. One of the first things you do is join the archery club, and from there you get to know Xavier Thorpe. At first he seems head over heels for Wednesday, but maybe at some point he'll see something in you? In school, you go through many dilemmas which you need to solve.
Tumblr media
Part 12 finale
────♡────
You stood for what felt like hours, just trying to make sense of what hit you all at once. Xavier looked so relieved to finally get everything off his chest. Maybe this was one of the strange daydreams you had, you shook your head. But Xavier was still standing in front of you. Pursing his lips tightly shut.
"Now... I know you still like him and... whatever. If that's what makes you happy then so be it. But just know (y/n) I love you. More than he could." Xavier had to accept the fact you weren't his. You had your eyes out for another man. Xavier walked away from you, leaving you standing still with no sense of mind. Something inside you hurt to watch him leave, but your feet were chained to the ground unwillingly. You couldn't move and run after him. So you stood, there hopelessly yearning for something so far from you.
If it wasn't for Wednesday that found you still standing in the cold- you'd be standing outside like a gorgon had stoned you. You couldn't say anything, you were just thinking. Thinking of Xavier, what he was to you. What you were to him. You never knew such feelings could manifest in you. Such powerful feelings. But Xavier was wrong, about you and Morte. He was long gone out of the picture when you danced with Xavier. You remember how your heart felt so warm, but you dismissed it. You never had that stupid crush on Morte- you were just trying to avoid falling for a man you couldn't have because of someone you thought was your friend. You spent time and time. Thinking and... nothing. You couldn't make sense of any of it. You had to go talk to Xavier.
You went to his dorm, empty. You went to his art studio, empty. You even went to Ajax to see if he was with him...and what would you know. Nothing, again. 'Come on come on THINK' You yelled at yourself, heart pacing as you forced logical thoughts into your mind. Then you remembered the nightshades. Wednesday told you about their pathetic attempt to interrogate her. That was your very last hope. You stood at the entry, trying to remember what Wednesday told you about this place. How to get in and all their strange books inside. Claps? Clicks? Snaps? Snaps! Snaps! That's what it was, Snaps. Just... how many? It didn't matter, but you raised you'd hand in the air and snapped your fingers against each other. Luckily you went with your gut feeling and went with number two. To your relief, the statue moved back exposing an entry into the darkness. Shady 100% but you had to do this one thing.
With caution you walked down the dark steps, holding tightly to the bannister by your side so you wouldn't go falling head-first down a flight of stairs. It was dark. Duh... it was called nightshades. You mock yourself in your mind as you finally reach the stairs. There was minimal lighting, but that was for the mood I suppose. Your thoughts kept going until you saw a familiar tall figure with a book in hand. Xavier stood against a bookshelf with one in his hand, looking dully at the words with little to no interest. He was sulking. There were towers of books all around you, that stretched as high as the ceiling. It was ominous, dark dim lighting with black and white paintings that were nailed to the walls. Some of which you recognised.
"Yknow, for a secret society. It's not very secret." Xavier spoke up, shutting the book with a loud thud before putting it in a space behind him. His eyes search for you through the room full of darkness. You awkwardly laugh at his small stupid comment. "Well I think you'd be an idiot if you didn't know how to get in..." You shrug your shoulders approaching him. It was just you and him in this echoing room. Xavier chuckles at you, folding his arms over his hoodie as he pushed his back against the sturdy bookshelf that held him up. "Xavier...look what you said." You cut from the lighthearted topic, your voice instantly turning more timid as you spoke through the dusty air filled with centuries of collected dust on unused books. "No, I know what you are going to say. You like morte, yes I get it. I said this earlier. If that's what... makes you happy then. I'll be happy too." Xavier tried to sound like he wasn't bothered by it, but he was disappointed. He looked at you with a sunken expression. Xavier held to the sleeve of his hoodie tightly, his fingertips tips turning white under the pressure of the hold.
"No Xavier. That's the exact opposite of what I have to say." You respond in a calm order, shaking your head. Your hair slightly shaking; following the movement of your head. Xavier's eyes stiffened as you said that. "Xavier, I never liked him. I thought I did. I lied to myself, and you. I couldn't care less about some... vampire posh-boy. I like you. I was just... trying to protect Bianca and myself." You expose yourself, eyes going soft under the small amounts of lights that bounced off your eyes as you walked across the enchanted halls towards Xavier. "After the dance, I felt many things change for me. So I started...lying to myself. Telling myself you're just a friend, a good friend I can't have those feelings for." Xavier looked...shocked. His stern hold loosing as his hands fell limp by his sides while you continued. Small amount of tears collecting in his eyes, he didn't know if it was the happiness, the shock, the sadness or everything all together at once but it didn't matter.
"Xavier, you said you wanted to be a part of my fairytale? Then do so. Be part of it and play the act of a noble artist falling in love with his muse." You stop in front of him, looking into his eyes. The look in his eyes makes you laugh. "That's something, I don't have to act out." Xavier replied shakily while looking at you with love in his eyes. He joined in your laughter, reaching for your hands to pull you in closer to him. "I've fallen in love with my muse a long time ago. When I painted you, I never felt hand my moving so smoothly against the canvas. I've never seen colours blend so beautifully." Xavier held your hand, rubbing his finger across your fingers. Both of your hands were warm against each other's hold. A warmth you both shared. You edge closer to Xavier unknowingly, stepping closer into his embrace that attracted you.
You stared into each other's eyes, it was all silent. Apart from the pounding of both of your hearts that drummed through the air. But your eyes said enough to each other. Xaviers' hand moved to your cheek, carefully brushing your soft warm cheeks with his hand as he admired you. Studying you as if he hadn't studied you this close before. He moved his face closer towards yours, his hand shifting behind your head. Supporting the back of your head as his eyes jumped back and forth from your eyes to your lips. You were so close to him, his body warmed up against yours. You gave in totally to his hold, leaning your chest against his. Resting your rigid body against his, you melted into his warm touch. His warm hands that held you and cupped your frame to his with each moment his face got closer to yours. You shut your eyes, and for once you weren't interrupted by something stupid.
Xavier's lips finally pressed against yours. He leaned down, back moving away from the bookshelf as he moved as close as he could to you. His lips moved against yours so softly. Xavier's kiss tender just as his hold was. You held onto his arms, the fabric of his hoodie captured between your fingers as you nervously held him as the kiss went on. But you pulled away, trying to momentarily catch your breath. Your lips felt so sweet, but they were on fire. The look the two of you shared was filled with love for each other.
"(Y/n) does this mean I get to be your boyfriend?" Xavier laughs as he hugged you close to him and looked at the empty space around you. "No, we'll stay friends." You replied coldly, but you couldn't keep from laughing straight after. "Yes obviously." Sarcasm was something you maybe used a bit too often, but Xavier loved it. "Good, because now Morte will find out that you are mine. Right now, and always." He placed a small kiss on your forehead.
Could you believe it? Those few archery lessons led to this.

It always came back to you - Xavier thrope x Reader.
Summary: Ever since you came to Nevermore, something set you up to be rivals with Xavier. You despised each other, or at least, That's the way it came off to everyone. Maybe it was never hate that drove you apart? Will you find out after the poe Cup how Xavier really feels about you?
Warning(s): will probably consist of name-calling, arguing/bickering, cussing and other small things. Maybe tiny tiny bit suggestive at the end...

The day of the Poe cup finally came around, you were in a cramped tent finalising your costume. There was rumbling of all the voices around the thin sheeted tent. It wasn't long till the game began. You fixed accessories and walked out to greet the rest of your teammates who discussed the 'game plan' really the game plan was just you using your powers to uprise the water to your opponents.
People grouped around and waited for everything to settle down. You sat behind one of the individuals in your group, holding onto the rowing paddle with a tight hold. Turning your head to your surround, your eyes stopping for moments at each of your rivals. But there was one person you only considered as your so-called rival. Xavier Thorpe, the guy you constantly argued with whenever you even opened your mouth around him. He sat in the canoe next to you, wearing his jester considered with his smudged makeup that covered his features.
"Hey! You really suit your new look. It really brings out who you are." You called out to Xavier, a two-sided grin on your face. Xavier narrowed his eyes at you, you could see his hold on the rowing paddle getting tighter when he heard your snarky comment. "Say that to the jester that will be holding the Poe cup trophy later on." Xavier's grin accentuated by the wide red paint that spread across his cheeks. Oh you were so ready to beat him. He was too cocky for his own good. "Hasn't your team lost consecutively?" You give him a final smirk until the game began.
A loud gunshot plowing through the air, riveting the attention of many of the crowd. The moment it went off, you put all your arm strength into the game. Pushing the paddles against the water pushing yourself forward. Eyes only focused ahead of you. Water splashing up around the canoe that was pushing through the water. Up by your side of the canoe was Xaviers clown group trying to stay close to you. If you didn't think he was insane enough, of their game plan seemed to be severing people's heads with the axes that was a part of their canoe. "Psycho." You muttered under your breath.
Land was approaching. You jumped into the shallow water as the rest of your peers shoved the thin canoe closer to the muddy ground as you went off running through the thick woods. It wasn't long till Xavier caught up with you, overtaking you while laughing like a maniac. He was too overjoyed. With one simple flick of your hand, the air went against Xavier causing him to go face-first into the mucky ground. Splashed on the dark went soil over his costume and face paint. You take your chance to run ahead yet again. "You were saying?" You watched him with an evil smile on your face. "Bitch!" He punched his first into the ground. Xavier rushed to get back onto his feet and try to catch up with you again.
You could see the colourful flags standing all neatly aligned. None have been taken yet, it was good to know you're ahead. With a small movement of your hands, branches crumbled to the ground getting out of your way. With a heightened sense of adrenaline going zipping through your veins; you sped up towards the flags.
You tried to pull it out of the ground, but it was stuck very snug into the ground. "Come on! Come out." You groan, tugging on the post of wood that held up your flag. The struggle contained, your hands going red from the constant grabbing of the same post. By this point, Xavier was back on your tail. Running up and grabbing his flag swiftly. "Oh no, you don't." You shake your head as you pushed your hand through the air. A strong swirl of air brought his flag out of his hand, blowing it high into the air. The air pushing the flag far into a tall tree where it got lodged into the branches.
"What the hell are you doing! That's not fair!" Xavier's temper ran short as he turned back to you with a pissed-off expression. Your shoulders jump up following your shrugging. "Oh it's perfectly fair... no rules remember?" Your voice teasing as never as - like you were talking to s child explaining the rules of the game. "Don't give me that, you are so irritating." Xavier spat out at you with a glare, meanwhile, Ajax stood there happily smiling at you. "Ugh." Xavier grumbled. He looked at his flag, he couldn't give up now. Xavier walked the tree, placing his hand on the rough bark that crumbled under the pressure of his hands. Xavier attempted to shake the flag out.
Yeah it was stuck there for good.
A small devious laugh escaped your lips. But you had to quickly act, other were running away with their flags. Using the strength in your arms, you snapped the flag from the bottom of the post. A jagged end being left. Bristles of splints sticking out of the bottom. You ran ahead. Leaving Xavier to the frustration of trying to get his flag.
It didn't come as a surprise when you won. You and your teammates holding the huge trophy in your hands. The bright shining silver mirroring your unimpressed expression. Among the crowd that cheered you on was a grumpy man. Xavier watched you, covered In mud and no flag. He glared at you, his jaw clenched. "I can't stand (y/n)" Xavier states Ajax. He was a lot more laid back, he didn't care. Just seeing him so angry at you, it pushed you to go further. Holding it up as far as your arm reached. "Thank you, this couldn't have happened if Xavier wasn't stupid enough to compete against me." You stare right at him in the crowds of people. He was over 6ft, he was easy to find. "This..." Xavier refrained from saying any further before he began pushing through the crowd taking his leave. Embarrassed and full of shame.
At least, you were left satisfied with your achievement.
The day wasn't done yet, you had a lot more to do. Snooping around let's say. You heard multiple things about the nightshades library. That place sounded like your cup of tea.
Xavier on the other hand, he was far from satisfied. He was fuming. So angry that he was ranting to Ajax for ages. Taking about. "Oh how much I hate (y/n)" words like 'self-centred' 'annoying' and 'erratic' were used during his conversion. His face was red from scrubbing his face so hard. Some of the more stubborn make-up stayed behind on his face. Water soaked Xavier's face as he used hot soapy water to try clean himself. "I just don't understand Ajax. Why does (y/n) have to be such a pain in the ass?" Xavier scolded, occasionally stopping to cover his face with more water. Parts of his hair were wet, he wasn't very careful. "Just hearing their talking driver me up the wall." Xavier continued, now that the question was brought up he couldn't finish talking about it. He hated you, his heart raced whenever he saw you and his face turned red from the sheer hate he had for you.
Is that what that feeling was called these days?
Silent...the halls were silent. Not many students walked around this time, most of them were having their dinner. But no, not you. You found it a lot more intriguing to go wandering. You walk through halls that seemed the same to the last, your arms dropped down by your hips - swaying carefully back and forth with the ongoing steps. You abruptly halted in your tracks, stopping in front of a cold unmoving figure of a man. The statue, that's just where you needed to be.
Two rhythmical snaps later, you were in. It was simply too easy. With curiosity, you strolled down the steps. You looked around as if you were in some zoo exhibition. Taking small details of the room. The strong smell of old dusty books, woody notes lingering through the air. It was stale and the air was thick because down here there wasn't much ventilation. At least it wasn't too dark. You walked down each step- a small click of your shoe followed. It was quite pretty, mysterious...ominous and full of all kinds of secrets.
You walk among bookshelves, brushing your fingertips against the collecting dust that built up on books that were not touched in ages. Your eyes dart around the covers, reading a few words of what the title was before moving on. Nothing had really caught your eye.
"You shouldn't be down here." A rigorous voice challenged you. Xavier laid his hand on the bannister and slowly walked down to you.
"Ah, shouldn't you be crying like a sore loser right now Xavier Thorpe?" You replied with clear uninterest, not even bothering to look his way. Instead, you kept your bored gaze on the thick-plated books all squeezed in next to each other. Your finger grazes the hardcovers.
"Don't even start there. You aren't supposed to be here, and you are being a total pain in the ass. Just GET out." Xavier snapped back at your monotone manner. Small fractions of his hair falling from the loosely tied bun. Already in frustration, he held his firsts together. "Uhuh... Well If you really dislike my presence then... yknow the door is up the stairs." You didn't even try to hide the mocking in your voice, and the smart-ass look you had on your face when you reached for a book you finally stopped at. It weighed so much in your hold, but still you flipped it over to skim through the blurb.
Xavier took a deep breath in, trying to compose himself. "Last time I checked. I'm a part of the nightshades. Not some total egotistical brat." Xavier had a nasty tone of his own when he needed it. He approached the middle of the hall, keeping his eye on you. His lanky figure became a faint shadow in the room. Arms stretched down to pockets and legs that stood straightened and strong. He was real pissed off.
"Well... considering this little club of yours consists of mainly incompetent fragile little boys... ahem... you" You fake a cough before calling him out. "I think I have all the right to be here." You spoke in a matter-of-fact voice, keeping a calm demeanour during your little book tour. Xavier rattled with the build-up of emotions, his status getting more rigid as he scrunched his nose. Skin wrinkiling under the strong expression of his snarl.
"(Y/n) I am so done with you. So is everyone. I hate how you sit up on your high horse and think you can talk to people like this. You are so self-centred it's ridiculous!" He told you straight as he was agitated. Xavier pointed his finger at you to ridicule you. "What-" you slam the book shut, dust flying up from the pages as you turned to face him with a snap. "No. No you listen to me right now. I can't stand you. Ever since you came, you started acting like this, like you were better than everyone." Xavier stormed closer to you, a thundering cloud following him in his steps. "Hey look at me I'm (y/n) and I am just sooo much better than the rest of you." Xavier taunted you, his expression went from harsh to babyish as he spoke in a higher-pitched voice. He held his hands close to chest, holding them together to make him look like a Saint.
"Me!?" You said in disbelief, pointing at yourself as you batted your eyes at him like he was insane. "Ever since I joined you have been nothing but mean to me! I tried to make truce but you were always out to mock me, Xavier. So don't you dare pinpoint it at me saying this." You start to lose your cool, tossing the book behind you to take sharp steps towards him. A harsh stare met him; you glared straight through your brows. The end of your upper lip slightly twitching.
Xavier had no reply and at some point couldn't even look you in your eyes. He was the first to avert his eyes. For a small moment, his expression softened under the dim lights of the great hall you stood in. You cranked your neck back to look at him, hair moving away from your face to fully expose the angered expression. But you tried to judge the expression Xavier had now. "If you are pitying how pathetic you are. Don't." You reply in a series of blunt replied before backing away from Xavier. Your shoulders losing the tense feeling in them as they dropped comfortably.
Assuming Xavier had nothing to say, it was your cue to leave anyway.
"No..." a much fainter calmer voice broke the silence. Xavier shook his head slowly as he looked down at the tiled ground. "I was doing it to protect myself. The moment you came into school, I had my eye out for you. But I couldn't have my heart hurt again. So I defended myself." Xavier felt so defeated as his head hung low - ashamed as he spoke.
"Urgh. Whatever. Fine, I'll leave." Xavier stopped, flipping back to his colder manners. He turned on his heel to leave. Ultimately you stopped him, grabbing his wrist - preventing him from leaving. "What the hell are you saying, Xavier? What do you mean?" You ask him frantically, did you hear him right? You mustn't have. Without even realising it, you hand a tight clutch on Xavier's sleeve. Holding to the thick fabric that rubbed against your skin, you slightly tug him back your way.
"I meant that. I like you. I have for so long. Did you really think this was all about how you are better than me? Or me trying to one-up you?" Xavier just slightly turned his head, he couldn't look you in the eyes as he turned himself into shame and embarrassment. He was chewing on his lip whenever he wasn't talking. On cue he began speaking again. "I was trying to stand out to you, get your attention. You always took it the wrong way so I went with it. I acted like I was trying to one-up you." He sadly continued before snatching his arm back to himself, pulling you forward with the force of his tug. Xavier easily broke away from your feeble grasp. "Don't you dare tell anyone. You've embarrassed me enough today." Xavier sighed as he began to scurry away. Trying to get away as fast as possible away from you.
You slightly laugh to yourself. You tried your best to swallow the urge down. "Xavier...do you really mean that?" You speak up from the broken laugh. Xavier stopped and nodded his head. But hearing your laugh, it told him everything. You were making fun of him. He almost ran away from you completely.
So it was never hate that pushed you so far away from each other. It was your own attraction that made things the way they are. "The feelings mutual." You speak up, hoping Xavier would hear you. He did. He froze, trying to hear you again. While he stood stationary, you walk over to him. Spinning around him to stand in front of him. And you lean in, placing a small peck on the corner of his lip. "I do like provoking you, however." You started to laugh, but it was cut short by Xavier who grabbed you and smacked his lips against your.
He waited so long for this. Xavier cupped your face in his hands. He even pushed the hair away from your face as he tilted his head. Xavier was desperate. Warm lips moving together in sync together. Both hearts are racing. You weren't even thinking, but you went with it. Holding onto his shoulders, pulling him down to your height and when he was low enough your hand slithered carefully behind his neck taking a soft hold of the light brown locks between your fingers. Xavier savoured every moment. Holding your body close to his, rubbing your face delicately. He held you just the way he wanted to hold you.
You pull away, gasping for the stale hot air that surrounded you. You catch a glimpse of Xavier's glowing eyes as he kept looking at you. "I've waited. So long, to hold you, to love you like this. I can't stand it, how much you make me feel at once. It was all so sudden." Xavier whispered into your ear breathlessly. Hot air tingles down your neck. You were still in shock at it all, everything processing slowly. Xavier held you tightly, gripping your clothes. His arms all tangled up in yours as he held you desperately. "I know you like me as well. Otherwise, you wouldn't have kissed me the way you did." Xavier read your feelings to you. You were exposed like an open book to him now. Feelings unravelled as you felt yourself embracing him. He held your smaller frame against his own taller and lankier frame.
"I wish you have told me sooner." You finally speak up after regaining your breath. Xavier chuckled, hands peeling off you. "Come to my dorm?" Xavier asked a smirk hinting at his filled lips. He had a lot to tell you about anyway... a room might have the best comfort for that.

Xavier x Reader - Maybe a few more lessons. Pt 11
Part 11
────♡────
After Xavier left to go back to his dorm, you felt your stomach swirling up a storm of butterflies that fluttered in your stomach. You weren't used to this feeling. Nervousness embracing you. You stupidly stood outside of his door, trying to make sense of your feelings before you rushed away back to your dorm. Bianca tried to spend as little time as she could in the dorm with you- not wanting to face you. So when you returned to your dorm, it was empty and abandoned. A small sigh came from your chapped lips. Your feet take you towards the bed, they needed rest. You needed rest.
You sat on your bed. Without realising it, a smile was on your lips as you thought about it. You tried your best to ignore the feeling however you couldn't stop the restless turning in your bed. Eyes peeled wide open; not tired 6 at this time of night. There were only a few things on your mind, and they were all to do with Xavier. You felt the same butterflies kicking up in your stomach. You had no idea what was wrong with you, this was one of your friends and you felt so nervous and giddy it seemed. Multiple attempts later to try get it out of your mind, you couldn't. So the logical thing to do was to go to your phone, and it seemed automatic at this point. Your finger hovered above Xaviers contact. Hesitantly you begin to text him.
(Y/n) - 'are you sleeping?' You debated If you actually wanted to send that text or not but your finger had a mind of its own. Clicking away on the send button, it was too late now. You put your phone down, and rub your face. It was stupid of you to text Xavier at this time. But you felt a faint vibration on your skin and light emitting from your phone. Taking grasp of your phone quickly, your face lit up to see it was Xavier who replied to you.
Xavier - 'I'm assuming you can't sleep either then? Come to my dorm, we have nothing better to do.' You smile ear to ear to ear and reply with a smile 'kay' excited you got out of your bed and headed straight to the mirror to see if you looked okay. You pause and look at yourself in the mirror. Why were you making sure you looked good at this hour? It didn't matter anyway.
You snuck out of your dorm, carefully shutting the door behind you. Tiptoeing down the halls like a small mouse. You clutched your phone close to your side as you walked down the halls that were so dimly lit with faint lights that gave off a fiery orange hue. Arriving at his dorm, you knock on the door lightly. Barely putting any strength behind your hand. Almost immediately Xavier opened the door and greeted you with a smile. He wore casual clothes, a plain top and a pair of black sweatpants that hung from his waist just nicely. His hair was down and fluffed up, tips curling around his face framing his angular complexion. Welcoming you in with a hand gesture, and even shut the door behind you. "Why can't you sleep then?" Xavier asked you as he leaned against his table, arms supporting his body weight. You were too shy to tell him straight on what exactly kept you up this long. "I was just... caught up in a few thoughts, you?" You ask in return as you walk over to Xaviers bed, taking a seat at the edge of the bed opposite him. "I'm the same." Xaviers gaze followed you down to the bed where he kept his eyes on you. He had a content look on his face.
Behind him sat his open sketchbook which you noticed. "Hey show me some of your recent drawings." Get up walking over to him, but his hand immediately moved over the boom not allowing it to be opened. "I have nothing new to show." Xavier looked away to the side, nervous. Your brow crooked up as you look at him. "What are you hiding in there? Let me see Xavier." You try to move his hand away but he was pretty adamant. Hold staying unyielding. Xavier stood completely unphased by your pathetic attempt to shove his hand off. But you never minded playing dirty if that's what you had to do. You take your extra hand and reach to his sides, tickling him. Xavier buckled immediately as he didn't expect it. "Hey!" Xavier exclaimed, but you were busy trying to get the pad of drawings. You opened it quickly. The first page was a drawing of your side profile, the next page was a drawing of you laughing. Again the next page was you. The more you flipped the more you saw your face, it was drawn in so many different ways. Expression different every time.
Xavier stood there, his gaze averted away from you. It was hard to see, but there was a red hue on his cheek. He totally stood there embarrassed. "Xavier..?" You speak his name slowly as you look through all these replicas of you, your face overtaking the pages. "You are all I can draw. You've been my inspiration. It's all that motivates me to pick up a pencil and draw." Xavier admitted, tripping over his words from the slight embarrassment he was experiencing. Xavier turns to stand in front of you, looking from the book back to your face. "But no matter how many times I draw you, it won't beat looking at your face with my own eyes." Xaviers hand reached to shut the book over. "The glow in your eyes, tells me so much. I can draw so much with the look in your eyes. You have been my muse. There's a lot about you that stirs feelings in me." Xavier said, slowly edging closer to you. His hand was placed next to you on the table as his body leaned into yours. He deeply lost himself in your eyes. Xaviers close moving closer to yours, you could feel his warm breath tickling your skin. You could hear his heart pounding and the shakiness in his breath.
It's like he was a magnet, his body pulling you in closer. Faces only an inches apart. This was crazy. Your face was hot, extremely hot and 6 butterflies in your stomach came back. They were stronger, more of them causing tornados within you. A tornado unstable in its emotions. You had no words. You just... waited, leaning into Xaviers face. Your eyes fluttered shut for a moment, and at that moment you felt your heart exploding. It raced at speeds you've never felt. "(Y/n)...." Xavier barely spoke above a whisper, your name sounded so sweet in his voice.
There was a loud knock at the door, startling you both. Breaking you from that frenzy to step apart panicked. Ajax walked Into the room with a bright smile on his face. "Aye Xavier!" Ajax came in, too socially unaware of the tension in the room. Your face beetroot red at that moment. "Oh Ajax, you came in at the perfect time I was just leaving haha." You were too embarrassed to stay, so you rushed by the unaware boy. You didn't know if Ajax was bad at reading people or If he just chose not to. Xavier watched you with his mouth open. He cussed himself out.
The moment you left the room, the cold air hit you and it was so refreshing. Your body was shaking, and you didn't know what to do. Taking a moment to compose yourself, swallowing a big lump in your throat as you inhale until your lungs couldn't take any longer. Your legs felt weak as you headed back, you tried to make sense of it. The moments flashing through your mind only making you feel warmer. 'He's your friend (y/n) what we're you thinking! Oh my lord. How am I supposed to see him tomorrow.' You mumbled to yourself panicked as you reached your room. Bianca in the bedroom. You exchanged no words as you headed straight to your bed to get water. If you couldn't sleep before, there was 100% you weren't getting ro bed for the rest of this night. You had to try recover after almost collapsing.
Dull light slithered through the gaps in the curtains, you knew it was finally daytime. Your energy levels were still okay. So you completed your morning routine much earlier than usual. But you kept thinking of Xavier and the night before. Maybe it was just....a feverish daydream? It didn't really happen. A part of you hoped the total opposite. You think while splashing cold water over your face, water trickling down your face dropping back down into the skin. You were trying to prepare yourself for a long day in school today. It would be hard to get by Xavier and try act like it didn't happen.
That's exactly what you did. The both of you acting oblivious to the night before, it was hard trying to keep your face from heating up and for the red colour to spread across your cheeks. As for Xavier, it was the same. He struggled to keep his cool. But it wasn't mentioned at all. Of all people... Ajax brought it up in one of the classes. You sat at a group table with Xavier, Ajax and Yoko. "Hey, you were in Xaviers room last night? Why were you there so late?" Ajax tilted his head as his question was directed at you. You almost choked on the air you slightly gasped in through your teeth. "We both couldn't sleep, so we just sat together and talked." That wasn't a lie actually, so you didn't know why you felt so nervous saying it. "Mh makes sense." Ajax was thankfully very oblivious to these kinds of things. While you looked at Ajax, you could get a glimpse of Xavier looking at you to see what you'd see. You were too scared to look incase your face would go bright red again.
More or less, your classes went by with the two to you glancing at each other and then looking away immediately. This was too hard to confront, but every time Xavier looked your way... that same feeling returned to your stomach. What could it be, and who was the best person to talk to about feelings than... Wednesday. "You like him." Wednesday said just what you didn't want to hear, well that's what you told yourself. "Wednesday... he's my friend I can't. This will pass." You whine to her all stressed about it. You hid your face in the palm of your hands which were slightly sweaty from the constant emotional stirring going on within you. "Are you going to tell him?" Wednesday's questions didn't help you get over it. You shake your head vigorously in response. "No. I'll be over it, it was late at night. I was being delusional." You kept denying it to make yourself feel better. Because you couldn't feel this way about a friend.
You didn't have to do any confronting. It was Xavier who approached you. "(Y/n) we need to talk. About last night." Xaviers bit on his gum. You dreaded this already. That feeling... it was returning just at the sound of his voice. Not even a full day ago you had your eyes set on Morte but now, you felt your heart soaring at the sound of your friends talking to you. "Yeah... we do." You just nodded slowly, Xavier was relieved this conversation would go ahead. He exhaled the breath that he was holding in. "What I said last night." Xavier started and stopped, looking for the words to say. You eyed him as he spoke nervously, playing with the ends of your flat-ironed blazer. Bending the fabric in your hand while anticipating his response. "I meant it all. You stir feelings in me and I'm not stupid. I know what they are." Xavier built himself up. "I like you (y/n) I can't keep avoiding telling you. I hate the way you talk about that vampire boy, I can't stand your stupid crush on him. I can't stand it anymore. You have been all that's on my mind, my dreams. I can't stop thinking of you."

"Bianca." It was finally time to face her, you couldn't keep avoiding it. "I know you lied to Xavier about me...at the Rave'n" you blurted out, but you couldn't contain it any longer. The air in the room went stiff. "Huh? I don't know what you mean?" Bianca looked up from her phone with her big eyes that looked at you so innocently. You couldn't stand it for a second longer, the constant lying straight to your face. "Bianca. I'm not as stupid as you think you are, I can read minds. Plus Xavier was the one that told me so."
The bones in your body tingled inside of you. It was just nervousness. The look Bianca gave you said it all. Her expression guilty, it seeped through her cold eyes. "I just want to know why. I've been nothing but a good friend, I almost gave up on my friendship for your sake. I rejected Xavier to the dance for your sake. And this is how I get repaid. Being lied about?" Surprisingly, you were able to keep up a tranquil tone. Words falling from the tip of your tongue. You weren't even angry, just hurt.
Silence. A suffocating silence, but you hear your heart thump and thump again at a faster pace. "You were dancing with my ex, so happily as well. I had every right-" nope, that's where you cut her off. "You have absolutely no right. He is your ex, so get over yourself. Do you think acting like this will win him over? Well you should rethink your tactics, Bianca." You scrutinised her for her actions, which harmed so many people at a time. Bianca straightened her posture to continue the conversation. "You don't know what you're talking about (y/n)." Bianca shook her head, totally rejecting whatever you just told her. She just couldn't let the truth into her heart. "Xavier is my friend, that's what you don't understand. You can't stand it when anyone talks to him that isn't you. You're jealous Bianca. Jealous." Repeating yourself to try get it through the thick fog that armoured her mind. "Jealous?!" Bianca exclaimed as a fussy scoff left her mouth. You simply nod at your statement, not taking it back. "Mhm. So get over it. He doesn't like you, and definitely won't with how you act." That was enough of ripping down the egotistical wall Bianca built for herself, you left the dorm. You really just hoped Bianca to recognize her behaviour. It definitely got to her mind. One thing you knew, it would take Bianca a long, long time to admit she was wrong. She was just that type of person sadly.
Now that things between you and Xavier were sorted out, you started seeing him a lot more often again. Archery sessions with him, going to his dorm or walking around town with you to get food. He called you out often to these small hangouts. Xavier just wanted you close to him, he wanted to see you smile and listen to how you rambled about all kinds of things. Though some things you spoke about brought Xaviers stomach to swirl and his brow to twitch.
Morte. The vampire boy you had a small liking for, you'd talk about him often. In the beginning, Xavier really tried to ignore it - let you get on happy with your stupid crush. He just couldn't give it up however. During class, Xavier would look over at you to see your eyes glued on Morte. He doodled your face, your eyes that held a certain look in this. Xavier wanted you to look at him that way. Pages filled with doodles of your face took up pages and pages of his work. All sketched out with care, he made sure to get all your features - from the small markings on your face to the way your hair curled at the tips. His face so content when he looked at you, but when his eyes skipped over to the nuisance beside you his jaw got together. Grinding his teeth together when his jaw clenched looking at him and how you chatted you up so swiftly. Jealous. Xavier was jealous and he knew it.
Before the bell even got to finish ringing, Xavier began walking over to you. "(Y/n) let's go out after school. I have a few things I want to show you." Xavier ignored the boy next to you who was still talking to you. He didn't bother letting him finish. "Oh Xavier, I've made plans with Morte. Maybe Tomorrow?" Xavier had to try really hard to not show the feelings inside of him. He bit down on the soft flesh of his cheek, creating a dip in his face. "Tomorrow, yeah sounds great." He forced a smile upon his face, but for the spit moment, he looked at Morte his eyes darkened before flicking back to your bright and comforting smile. It melted his momentary coldness.
You noticed how Xavier hung out with you more, asking you out more often than usual. He even dragged archery for longer, holding your hands and fixing your position just as an excuse to be able to be close and hold you. You felt his hand laying on top of yours, his fingertips gracing your skin as he adjusted the way you held your bow. Your skin tingled under his touch. Somehow it always made you feel a small jitter in your fingertips. Meanwhile, Xaviers heart fluttered.
Xavier did a lot of things to try to get you away from your so-called crush. All he did was bother Xavier and annoy him. Xavier was in fencing, holding the blade in his hand as he waited for his new opponent to move up. The lucky guy was Morte himself. Under the white mesh of the protective gear, a smirk came across Xavier's face. This was the only time he'd be able to go rough on him. And Xavier didn't try too hard I'm fencing, but this would be the only time he'd reach peak performance. "Engard!" Was finally called out by the coach who waited by the side, observing his students. Almost immediately Xavier took the first move, lunging forward with his thin blade in front of him. Morte almost being caught off guard by the sudden moment but regained his cool. They jumped back and forth, playing offence and defence at the same time. Xavier held a tight grip on the handle, gloved hands wrapped around. His expression was serious now, under his mask he was breaking a sweat. He was trying. Pushing himself to new limits of agility. Xavier's built-up jealousy was helping, adrenaline going through him. The tip of his blade scuffing across the thick protection on him - and god he wished it wasn't there. Panting as he pulled his helmet off his face, his hair messy and hanging over his face as there was a thin coat of sweat. The coach clapped as he walked over to Xavier. "That was your best performance yet Mr Thorpe." But he wasn't even paying attention, he was glaring at Morte. Looking down at him as if he was merely some pathetic prey. He took a deep breath in, as he pushed the stray hair away from his face as Xavier tried to regain his coolness. Morte stood as the loser in this game and he would keep on losing as long as Xavier was around. Xavier turned to leave, holding the helmet under his arm. His face red, who knows if it was from playing so hard to the anger.
"I heard you did really well in fencing today." You mused by Xaviers side with a proud look on your face. "It was because of you I did so well." Xavier mentioned so simply as he was heading to his dorm and you followed without a second thought. His words made your cheeks heat up. "Care to tell me how." You enquired, wanting to know what it was to make him feel that way. Xavier stopped walking and looked down at you with a smile, he didn't reply. He just looked at you, his body standing so close to yours. His hair fell from his ear. "Well, say something then." You speak and subconsciously your hand reached closer to his face. Take the piece of hair between your fingers and tuck it back behind his ear, carefully brushing it back to put it with the back of his hair. His hair was so soft. Xavier didn't give you a chance to let go before he placed his hand on yours and held your face against his cheek. Xaviers thumb brushing over your knuckles. "You make me feel strong (y/n) and I don't want to lose that. Not to anyone." Xaviers words didn't make sense to you yet, but still the way he spoke to you with passion in his voice. You held eye contact for so long with him, you lost yourself in his eyes without even realising. Butterflies began to whirl up inside of your gut as he looked at you like you were a prized possession.
"(Y/n) I'd do so much to keep you by my side."
He swore on his life, he'd fight for you. You had never felt such a feeling in your stomach. But the way your best friend looked down at you, how he held onto your hand and caressed it. His hand was so hot against yours. How could you not? There was burning love within Xaviers eyes.

Part 9
────♡────
For days on end, Xavier didn't act the same. He was more agitated by people, and a gloomy aura clung to him - he was sadder than he played it off to be. Though, it was the same for you. You felt sadder, you'd lay in bed during the timed when you were supposed to be at Archery with Xavier. But he hasn't even looked at you since. He blocked you out of his life, and you tried to do the same... you worried however. Despite what Xavier said about you, you still worried for him.
Wednesday who noticed the change in Xaviers behaviour and yours aswell - she went straight to talk to you. Asking you what was wrong, it mainly sounded like she wanted Xavier dead. Wednesday wasn't the best at comforting and the least said about that the better. But she sat with you and gave you company when you had no one was around. Bianca was gone almost all of the time after that night. "I'll talk to him (y/n). Don't try stopping me." Wednesdays voice as monotone as her colour pallet. You dreaded to hear what she'd come back with. Wednesday barged into Xaviers studio and looked at him with a blunt look in your eye. "I have a slight idea who fed you those lies about (y/n) but Xavier I know for a fact, those lies are not true. You know what you felt for (y/n) was real. You couldn't synthesis such an emotion." Wednesday stood at the door, not budging in the slightest as she spoke. She stated at Xavier through her brows waiting for him to react. Xavier exchanged no words, he sat there staring at the painting that he had ruined of you. Now it was a muck of colour which hid all of the beautiful properties underneath. "Fine. If you won't talk, at least listen. You need to believe me. Think about it thoroughly, not with jumped conclusions. I know you like to do that." Yeah, Wednesday was harsh but you'd expact nothing less from her. She wanted her voice to be heard, and it was.
Once again, Xavier was left in the silence of his studio. Alone. He closed his eyes slowly as his head leaned forward into his hands. Letting the silence drown him, so that he could finally think. All his thoughts were rushed, but something about what Wednesday told him it made him slow down and think. Rationally at least. Wednesday days got to him, but Biancas voice still desperately echoing through the back of his mind. One part of him told him to reach out believe you but the other part screamed at him telling him the exact opposite. Xaviers mind ambivalent - not being able to make one choice.
You simply couldn't wrap your head around it, why would Xavier switch up so fast. What on earth made him think these ridiculous things. You asked yourself, holding a bow. Huge dark grey clouds covered the skies, the atmosphere looming as was your feelings. You shut your eyes and relaxed your shoulder as the arrow went through the air. It definitely hit the target. You look to see your arrow within the red bullseye - it was a shame really. Your first bullseye and Xavier wasn't there to see it. So you stared at it sadly, you didn't even feel good about it. "That was a good shot." A soft voice spoke out from behind you, it was the last person you'd think to see here.
Xavier stood there, arms limp at his sides. He stood hopeless. "Xavier, you might as well just leave if you are here to tell me about how I'm a manipulator." Giving your blunt statement straight away. "I don't need to hear anymore about it, so whatever you can believe, whatever." You didn't bother looking at Xavier; you looked away to the side at the empty archery court. You were still bitter at him, for ruining the dance and yelling at you. You had all the right to be. "No (y/n) I'm not here for that. Hear me out." Xavier stepped closer to you, his voice full of ache. Words spoken with a slight shake to them. "Hear you out?" You turned your head to face him, a deepened look on your face as your jaw clenched. "That's really funny Xavier, because you never heard me out so why the hell should I listen to you." Your scoffed in bitter words a miserable feelings within you. Xavier shook his head rapidly at you, his eyes glossy. "Because I'm sorry! That's why. I'm sorry." Xavier clenched his first together as his head dropped down low, you had never heard something so candid. "Just. Listen. For a few minutes listen to me." Xavier pleaded you, just for a small moment of your time. When he was able to pick his head back up, he faced you. Your own heart felt heavy seeing him like this, so your voice diminished into silence. Standing right opposite Xavier, he was stood so far from you.
"I was wrong to believe Bianca and what she said about you. It was stupid of me, and it was me being insecure and afraid. I am insecure and afraid. (Y/n) I regret it." Xavier began his speech, voice trailing on slowly. He looked you dead in the eyes. Within his eyes there were a glass coating that built up and captured the guilt within. For a moment all you could think... Binaca? Bianca did this to you? She caused this? Questions stormed through your head, it was just another hit to your heart. Xavier hadn't stopped talking yet. "I've been really hurt by what I done so I can't imagine how you must felt. So please forgive me." Xavier approached you, closing the space between you. You looked up at him with shock and sadness in your eyes. Too many things had just happened, so Bianca was really the one behind all this. It was never Xaviers fault was it.
It was sudden, but you pushed yourself into Xaviers arms. Your hands wrapping around him his heat radiating off you. Warming your body up. You had your head on his chest, you could hear how his heart raced and thudded in your ears. Xavier stood shocked as he felt your arms around him but quickly he wrapped his arms around you as he held you close to himself. For a while, you said nothing and just stayed in the safe hold. When it was time to speak, your voice muffled against his zip-up jumper. "I forgive you Xavier." You could feel in instant relief in his body as he was less stiff, his heart too slowed down. "Thank you. It was Wednesday who knocked sense into me." He hoarsely laughed, you feeling the vibrations coming from his chest.
Despite being so happy that you are Xavier finally made up like this, you were struck with sharp cuttings to your heart. Bianca really plotted against you, a friend you assumed was looking out for you to keep you safe. Your body was cold again when you pulled away from Xaviers hold, but he held you for a second longer as he proceeds to give you a comforting squeeze. The distance between you no longer as far and distant. "(Y/n) as a friend... you mean so much to me. Everything i said at the rave'n i meant. Apart from the...yknow." Xavier sincerely said to you. A smile began to tease at your lips, corner of your lips curving up as you showed off your pleased smile to Xavier. Your short laugh chimed through the air, floating around Xavier. It uplifted him. "You are really sincere and all Xavier... I'm cold so I think I should really head back to my dorm. I'll send you a text?" The air frosty with low winds that swept sharply against your cheeks.
"No, come to my dorm. Spend more time than me." Xavier wasn't asking you, he was telling you. His words serious as ever. "I want to draw you again. Be my muse." The seriousness broke as he began to mess about again with you. Smacking his arm as you walk past him. But you did head to his dorm room after all - how were you supposed to face Bianca after knowing what she had done at some point... you'd have to confront her. But in the meantime, you'll enjoy sitting with Xavier as he sketched out your face in his notepad and talked to you. The afternoon just you and him, talking. Xavier asked you a lot of things. One of them being: "that boy who was your date... are you a thing?" Xavier brought up from the blue as his pencil came to a halt on the paper. "I wouldn't say that no, I think we both like each other. It's only childish though." You say at your cheeks go slightly pink at the vampire boy who sat beside you. It really was childish. "Hm." Xavier replied with a small nod as he returned back to mapping out your face on the paper. Xavier had a strange feeling plotting at the bottom of your stomach as he watched you get giddy like that over some guy. It was a feeling, he had definitely felt before.

Part 8
────♡────
Xaviers words repeated themselves on your mind, a loop which you kept restarting whenever it ended. Your reply wasn't as well thought out as you wanted it to be. It was more joking and sarcastic. You and Xavier still had a good night. But you did leave your date hanging. He watched as you went off with another guy who held you in his arms so tender. What surprised you, is that Bianca said nothing. She left the two of you alone and just watched with a smile plastered on her face. Too soon you had to leave Xaviers arms but you held on that extra moment you could. Both faces mirroring each others wide grin when you took a step away from him. This year, no pranks happened, and the dance went smoothly which was just great. So far, so good no outrageous fiasco pulled to ruin the night. Everyone was so relieved. "I need a drink after that, I'll be back." You were warm and thirsty now with the dancing. Xavier gave you a brief nod before watching as you disappeared into the crowd of people behind you. Trying to get by all the jammed people that flailed their arms around in the air almost whacking you a few good times. The line was longer than you expected for drinks to be served up but you stood in the line slightly giddy, still thinking of how Xavier held you. A small tingle in your stomach caused by the simple thought of it all. It was too good... maybe just too good.
Bianca made her move, walking over to Xavier with a concerned look on her face and she got a blank face in return. "Xavier, you need to he careful. She's manipulating you!" Biancs exclaimed to him while you weren't around. Xavier shook his head and put his head back in annoyance. "Bianca stop talking nonsense...I know you're jealous but-" Xavier was rudely cut off with Bianca butting straight in. "No listen to me. Think about it, you were madly inlove with Wednesday, you wouldn't give up... and the second she came? You are suddenly acting like this... Xavier open your eyes!" Bianca persisted, she played on a serious expression with concern that flourished in her eyes. They were hypnotic. Xavier was already a weary guy, who's been hurt by things like this. "She didn't even want to go to the dance with you... she likes the vampire guy. Xavier, listen to me she's usuing you." Bianca took her seat next to Xavier and reached for his hand, cupping it in hers as she looked at Xavier.
Xavier looked... puzzled. Lowering his head as his eyes pranced around the floor. He thought about it again and again. It made sense to him. He was all over Wednesday up until you came to school. Fear and concern struck him. Darting his gaze towards Bianca, who looked at him softly. "She got expelled because she did something similar at her past school... she told me it all. That's why I've been so defensive." Bianca lied straight through her teeth. It's what she was good at. And when matters came to her ex, she still had feelings for - she'd pull far stretches. Xavier shook his head in disbelief, raising his hand to rub his temples as he felt a cluster of emotions hitting him at once. Slowly his mind trapped itself in a defensive mechanism, believing what he was told. Bianca looked so concerned. Xavier let out a shaky breath as a wave of anger hit over him. Standing up abruptly from his seat before storming off, rushing out of the building and shoving past people roughly just to get a gasp of air. It all made too much sense. You could control minds.. invade them. Xavier himself said it.
You manipulated minds.
The feeling of denial dwindled in his inked heart that gave into the accusations. Bianca watched with a tainted smile on her face, the same tainted smile she had been watching you with.
You were taking a look around as you still stood in line. You saw how Xavier rushed out the dance. He seemed angry? What on earth could have happened in the short while when you were away. Concerned, you went out of the queue despite waiting so long already - you had to go check on Xavier to make sure he was alright. Snaking your way through the people around you to finally get outside to see Xavier leaving? "Xavier! Xavier hold on!" You call out, picking up your pace to go after him.
Xavier snapped his eyes on you, a face full of anger as he looked at you. It wasn't the soft face you had been used to. "Leave me the hell alone. I shouldn't even be surprised you'd do such a thing!" He raised his voice at you, making you slow down in your tracks. Your face of concern turned into a lost expression. "Xavier what?" You take a step closer only for him to lash out again. "Don't you act fucking stupid (y/n) of course with a ability like that you could do whatever you want." Xavier nose flared as his face scrunched in anger. His brows pointed down with a certain darkness in his eyes.
Was this... about what you thought this was about? Your mouth parted in shock as he yelled at you as you stood outside in the darkness with the cold attacking your skin. That was the least of your worries. "Xavier are you kidding me do your hear yourself right now?!" You too began raising your voice at the accusations blamed on you. Feeling your heart rate picking up while your breath got heavier. "I hear myself just fine. I'm so tired, of being walked all over. Do me a favor and don't talk to me again. I don't want to be surrounded by another manipulator." Xavier sneered at you, his Adams apple bopped up and down as he continued yelling. His voice slightly shaking due to the anger. You gasp in absolute shock, but you couldn't help but get angry. Being yelled at for something so absurd. "Bianca was right about you. You are too insecure and afraid, so you think everyone is out to hurt you. I should have listened to Bianca the first time when she told me how you broke up with her." You snapped at Xavier glaring at him angrily. Those words only pissed him off more. He gave you daggers before he left you to stand all alone. His figure getting smaller.
"Urugh!" You yell to yourself before you rush yourself back to the Rave'N, your date was waiting for you.
Bianca met you at the entrance, giving you a worried look. "Oh my god, (y/n) I saw what happened... are you okay?" You held your shoulder, rubbing it with comfort. Suddenly you felt like you'd burst into tears. "I should have listened to you Binaca." You say much softer than before, your voice wavering as you spoke. Your breathing uneven. "Oh dear... go enjoy your night. You still have a great date waiting for you over there." Bianca spoke to you so softly, as she guided you through the crowd back to your date. A malice expression on her face as she walked behind you. "Just forget about it... you can leave the getting angry till later after the dance." She whispered into your ear before she left you. Bianca has the biggest devious smirk on her face as she walked back to Yoko.
Whatever you did to try take your mind off it, you just couldn't. Dancing with your date didn't even feel the way it should. You were distant - mind far off in another place not even paying attention to him. The first place Xavier went was his art studio, when he was met with the painting of you looking at him with such a smile. He knocked it off the stand. Letting it fall face flat. His emotions all being blurted out into paper, he threw painting over the painting of you. The soft colours being taken over by dark brutal colors. It changed itself to something powerful with overwhelming emotions. Sad, angry betrayed emotions. Xavier couldn't process it but he heard your distant voice, it only pierced deeper through his heart. His friend that he grew so fond of, betrayed him and hurt him. He thought of you and your cruel beauty that truly manipulated him. His hands jittered as he tried to paint, he didn't know if it was anger or even just sadness at that point. Either way, his heart hurt. The change from feeling so light and warm to a cold brutal bash right through his heart.

Part 7
────♡────
The painting didn't leave your mind for days, stretching on weeks. How it moved as it was really you, and the soft colours that laid flat on the canvas to create something ever so beautiful and it was...you of all things. You didn't dare mention it to Bianca. To tell her that Xavier painted you, that would be a ticket bought to end a friendship. So it was best to keep it a thing between you and Xavier.
More weeks went by, and you got more comfortable in school. Making more friends, a good friend being a vampire boy who sat next to you in one of your classes. He was a sweet guy, interesting as well. You spread your time out with friends and with the case of studying for your classes, and the list went on and on. Though of all people, you spent more time than you thought with Xavier. You saw him at archery, and occasionally you went over to his art studio to see what new things he'd be painting. The painting of you standing as the main event, proudly sitting on its own just so the focus was on you alone.
You realised that the rave'N dance was coming up soon, and you had no idea who'd you take. You thought and thought, yet no one came to mind - no one appropriate to bring at least.
"Bianca who will you take to the Rave'N" She went on about some boy that asked her out and said yes to. But the both of you knew that wasn't her first option- Xavier was. Talking about Xavier he asked to meet you later in the night at archery court. It was almost time to go meet him. No idea in what he might want, you walked down to see Xavier pacing and talking to himself. You never seen him like this, but he froze at the sound of your voice calling out his name. You waved your hand at him. "What on earth name made you think this would be a good time for archery Xavier." You shake your head and go to pick up a bow. Your hand was stopped before you could reach. The tips of your fingers brushing off the bows handle. Your wrist locked position with Xaviers hand holding you from taking the bow. With utter confusion you look at him, brows knotted up as you tried to read his expression. He was chewing on his gum and looked down as he calculated what to say to you. "This isn't about Archery (y/n), I wanted to ask you..." He took a deep breath as he found courage to look you in the eyes. Xaviers hold got softer on your wrist before sliding down to your hand only to drop it.
"Well, I wanted to ask you. If you'd like to go to the Rave'N dance with me. Like as a friendly thing, yknow." His words followed with a nervous chuckle as he rubbed the back of his neck, brushing against the white collar of his school shirt.
Your heart peaked and sunk back down in second. You stand there, pursing your lips together into a thin line. Ashamed you looked to the side. "Uhm...about the dance, I think I'll just go alone." As much as you wanted to tell him yes, you couldn't hurt Bianca that way. Not when she still had feelings for Xavier. You look to see his disappointed expressed as he looked away from you. Xavier took a deep breath through his teeth creating a hissing sound as the cold air filled his mouth. "I'm sorry Xavier, I just think it'll be-" You never even got to finish your sentence before Xavier interrupted you. "You don't have to explain yourself (y/n) it's fine." Xavier laughed it off like he usually would, but his ego was hurt a little. Though he smiled at you sweetly, you could see the lingering disappointment within his eyes. "I guess that's all I called you for, sorry for dragging you out from you dorm so late. Night (y/n)" Xavier turned his face, the smile dropping from his face almost immediately when you weren't there to look at him.
You sighed, but even if it was something friendly... it would only be unfair to Bianca. Your eyes followed after Xavier, seeing him shoving his hands into his pockets when he walked off. Gosh, now it would be so awkward between the two of you. You chewed on your gum as you headed back to the dorm. You did the right thing for Bianca.
Days passed again, you had practically forgotten about what happened between you and Xavier - it was for the better. You didn't want an awkward situation with Xavier. But he didn't seem so hung up on it anyway, at least not with exterior appearance. Assuming the two of you have moved on from it, it was all fine.
The teacher was talking during class, going on about anatomy of sirens and whatever. "(Y/n)" A whisper sneaked into your ear from beside you. A note was slid your way : 'go to the Rave'N with me tomorrow?' The vampire boy you had become friends with during the passing term really asked you out. You obviously didn't use your brain when you wrote down 'okay' as a reply. Just what the hell were you thinking. Xavier totally slipped through your mind in that moment. But you were excited, a boy actually asked you out? Someone who you had a child-like crush on. He smiled at you as he looked down at the note. A beaming smile on your was returned to him. You giggled slightly, trying not to not get into trouble by the teacher.
Xavier who sat a few rows behind you, watched as you two giggled and smiled at each other. An indescribable look on his on his face. He pondered to himself, deep in thought about something. His bruised ego ached. He couldn't believe you rejected it. At the end of the day, it was only on a friendly accord, was it not?
The next night was ecstatic, Bianca had taken you shopping for something to wear. You wandered around shops looking for something, and what you found was just fantastic. The theme was something along the lines of a fairytale dream. A lace blouse with elegant sheer white sleeves that fanned out from your wrist and sat off your shoulders. Pearlescent shimmers through the sleeves. With beautiful Pearl netting that dropped from from your neck and kept the top up. It was your idea of fairytale. Soft blues and faint pinks glimmered all across your outfit. You looked into the mirror, all done up and ready for the dance. All you have to do was add finishing touches to complete the outfit. Bianca and you giggled and went down so excited.
This was your first time at such a dance like this, but your date waited for you to bring you into the room. He was in awe when he saw you, you hooked arms as you entered with him. He complimented you again and again, causing you to fluster and laugh all the way into the hall. It was a magical setup. It's literally a fairytale you lived in. Xavier was in already since he had no date. He came alone, knowing you'd do the same. But he watched as you walked with linked arms joined hip to hip with a guy he's seen around you before. And he scoffed before muttering under his breath. "So much for coming alone." But he kept his eye on you, watching you as you walked with such elegance. You were a fairytale, as much as he didn't want to think so.
The night only beginning when Xavier came up to you with a drink in within his hand. Eyeing down your date. "I thought you were coming alone..." Xaviers words trailed on when his gaze shifted back to you. Your face glowing in embarrassment, you felt your cheeks get hot. "Well, I thought so too." You tried to laugh it off, almost choking as you did so. "Mhm." Xavier walked off without saying anything else. And he sat all alone bitter thinking of how you should have told him if you didn't want to go with him because you had another. He watched you dancing away, enjoying yourself as he sat pitying himself. Xavier caught your eye multiple times as he sat and gloated. You couldn't leave him like that.
Standing in front of Xavier, you held your hand out to him. The next dance was just starting. He batted his lashes at you. "Come on, will you dance with me or not or do you suck at dancing...?" You raise your brow at him - of course, you knew saying something like that would make him spring to his feet. "I can assure you I don't." A smirk coming on his face. Ah, much better, the original Xavier was back. He took your hand into his and pulled you in closer to himself. His hand cold against your warm hand. Xavier looked down into your eyes as he squeezed your hand before he started. You danced with him, body's swaying together to the rhythm of the song. And he held you so delicately, but also his hold on you was firm.
Maybe this really was a fairytale.
You felt high in the air as you were in Xaviers hold. His eyes stayed right on you, he forgot about everything and everyone else in the room. This was how he really wanted to spend his night. Dancing with his friend. You felt the air wrapping around your skin, it was comforting. "You probably heard this from your date, but you look like the Fairytale (y/n)" Xavier spoke up. Music all around you, but all you heard was Xaviers melodic words that tickled at your eardrums.
"A fairytale I'd like to be part of." Your heart skipped beats as he spoke.

Plot - During second term, you join Nevermore academy. One of the first things you do is join the archery club, and from there you get to know Xavier Thorpe. At first he seems head over heels for Wednesday, but maybe at some point he'll see something in you? In school, you go through many dilemmas which you need to solve.

Part 6
────♡────
After Xavier and you finished the project, you didn't see him as much. You'd see him in some of your classes, and he'd catch you after school to chat to you or then again at archery. That was really it. You had no other excuse to see him.
You always noticed Xavier would disappear after his last class and would be gone for what seemed like hours. You overheard his friends talking about sometimes. Curiosity struck you, but you weren't one to go snooping in other business but what harm could it really be? After all, everyone wanted to know where Xavier disappeared to for so long the moment bell rang.
When you were anticipating for the bell to ring, it always seemed to drag out. Minutes seemed to take hours to pass. The seconds flicked over as you tried to patiently wait. It lasted a whole eternity before you got to the final stretch of class. Only a minute or two left before the end of the day. You thought you'd be mummified in your seat at the rate time was moving at. Yet finally, the loud and annoying bell you had been so desperate to ring finally made its appearance. You could finally let out a sigh of pure relief as you jumped up from your seat, putting things away. From afar, you kept your eye on Xavier. Xavier looked over to you and shot you a smile before he walked away from the class. He always remembered to say some sort of goodbye after class, or even something small like that.
Usually, you'd be strolling out of class, nowhere important to be but yeah, no - not today. You walked quickly out of the class to see where Xavier was headed off to. It turned into some sort of sneaking game. You walked out into the woods, it was strange for sure but it didn't matter yet. You tried to make little noise, avoiding the things in your path sat down to make you fail and expose you. Even mother nature was against you in this moment.
The walk wasn't long until Xavier made it to his location, and his companion, which he didn't know about... from the outside, it looked grubby, some worn down shed? Why the hell did Xavier drag himself all the way out for... this? And it had a padlock and everything. How strange, still your couldn't help but just imagine what could be inside in such a place. What could Xavier be hiding away in the woods. Well, you'd soon find out wouldn't you...?
You saw as Xavier slipped in, and you stayed behind a tree from a far. You groaned, you couldn't see anything from where you were standing. So you just had to wait, in this forest which you already forgot the path out of. That was a problem for later. It didn't seek long for Xavier to leave the shed for a moment and walk off. You took that moment. Heading right inside, and all your wild assumptions far off anything that was inside. Drawings, paintings. So much art, some grotesque snd grim to look at. Other so beautiful and delicate. You stared in awe as you looked at all the paintings. "Wow..." You said to yourself as you took a few steps around the dark room. You looked with admiration at the paintings but you couldn't help but notice multiple discarded paints and drawings of Wednesday. All shoved into one corner to hide them away. You went to look at them, stroking your fingers along the canvases that had been coated with paint and charcoal.
"I didn't know I had a secret admirer of my paintings." A sudden voice from behind you which caused you to get startled. Xavier stood at the door, his silhouette glowing agints the light outside. You turn slowly on your heel to bring yourself face to face with Xavier. "Don't worry, it's not the first time someone intruded into my studio... sure they had other reasons for it." Xavier didn't seem phased at all. "Xavier, your art is beautiful." You tell him, looking at his approaching tall figure with wispy hair. "They are so... powerful to look at." You turn back to look at the paintings around the room. You looked closely at the details on the paintings. Xavier stood there sort of flustered from your comments, but he tried to play it off. "I'm, I'm glad you like them (y/n). I spend a lot of my time in here painting. I would make too much of a mess in my dorm if I tried to paint." He laughed as he stood next to you, your shoulder scraping against his arm. "Why would you hide this? You should be showing these off." You rip your eyes away from the painting to look at Xavier. But he kept looking at the painting with a dim look in his eyes. A shaft of air around you, shifting up from the ground up onto your skin. Crawling up your legs.
"Not everyone looks at them the way you do, some are too weird to show. And most of them are from my dreams." Xavier told you, finally bringing his eyes back down to you. He could see the admiration in your eyes. His paintings were genuinely liked, even at their most raw state. "And then again, I got blamed for being a monstrous killer... so let's say that's put me off aswell." Xavier inhaled a deep breath.
The way he said it himself made you look at him confused, but it didn't look like he'd tell you any further. "It's nice to have someone like you liking my paintings. It inspires me, really." Xavier looked down at you, bits of hair falling from his ear. His eyes looked into yours, so intently, but it wasn't weird. His eyes held something you couldn't explain. It was silent. You were too busy looking into Xaviers eyes. At some point, you got slightly embarrassed of this and looked away to the side. "I noticed all your paintings of Wednesday, the way you painted her... it was so elegant. You are really good at capturing the beauty of her." You changed subject, assuming this would be something he'd be dying to talk of. Instead, he looked off... an expression of a person who has given up on something so dear to them. "Yeah, that'll be the last of them." Xavier walked over to them and turned them away, showing the canvases face against the harsh wood. Had he really given up on Wednesday now? "I'm like a dog chasing my tail. I go in circles again and again to try catch her, yet to no avail." Xaviers tone grew somber. He seemed so calm, but the hurting in his heart showed through under his reserved manner.
The topic changed not long after, and you sat and watched Xavier drawing. You didn't know what it was, his canvas opposite you. In the silence, there was sounds of a pencil gliding across the canvas and the soft bristles of his paintbrush mapping out things in his mind. Xavier looked so concentrated, his eye focused, and his fingers wrapped around his paintbrush. Holding it with so much love. You could tell he loved this. "I think, this might be the most beautiful addition to my work yet." Xavier voice cutting through the silence that hung around you. Excited you walked over. And what you laid your eyes on. It was ethereal.
Your mouth parted, yet no words left your mouth as you looked into your own eyes. And Xavier hovered behind you, looking down at you with a small gentle glint within his eyes. His eyes clung to the small features of your face, how your lashes were long and parted just right. How your nose sat on your face. He just looked at you, lost in your features meanwhile, you were too lost in your own. Wet paint sitting drying upon the big canvases. "It's to show my gratitude, for helping with the project and making archery more enjoyable. Thank you (y/n)."
You couldn't even process his words, but his voice mused through your ears. "Xavier... I'm? I don't know what to say." You tried to make up a sentence, but you had swallowed all your words, leaving you speechless. "Don't say anything, just... enjoy it." He raised his hand to the painting. You saw how the painting brought itself to life. It was you laughing and generally just being happy. You turn to look at Xavier, your eyes saying a lot more than you could say properly.

Part 5
────♡────
"(Y/n) really! A date with my ex? I told you how I feel about him. And you go off and pull this." Bianca raised her voice frustrated. Maybe this was her jealousy coming out now. A puff of air left her mouth as she looked at you. You stood guilty at the door, looking down not knowing what to do. Anything you'd say would only make it worse. "I warned you about him. Yet you don't listen. I'm your freind? Yet you go ahead and do this? (Y/n)?" Bianca stood infront of you with a dawning look in her eyes which you were too scared to look into. Her eyes pierced through your soul as she looked at you. "My ex (y/n)." She only added to your building guilt. "I saw how you walked around, laughing and giggling with him. But sure... it was for the project (y/n) wasn't it."
You were lost for words, but eventually the conversation ended anyway. You sat on your bed, turned to face the other side of the room. Guilt bubbled inside of your stomach, it moved up along your stomach all the way up to your throat. A lump of guilt stuck in your throat that practically choked you. All you did was stay silent, and think about how you hurt your freind already. So early on in the year and something like this already happned. You curled into your bed, blankets wrapping around you as you shut your eyes tightly hoping to fall asleep. Though, snipits of the day kept playing on in your mind. It only made you feel worse.
From that point on, you tried to avoid Xavier as much as you could. Not showing up to archery, giving Xavier the most blunt replies. You even told him to work on the project independently because you had no time to see him. Whenever you saw him in the halls you'd walk the other way, staying stuck to Biancas side to avoid him. You did it for your freind, you didn't want to ruin your guys friendship over something like this. Xavier tried to reach out to you, he waited on you after class yet you'd walk right past him or tell him some bullshit excuse telling him you had to hurry up and be somewhere. You felt bad that you kept shutting him down. Xavier wondered what happned, why you threw a sudden curve ball at him and started to avoid him. He looked at you in class, yet each time you weren't looking his way. But you felt his gaze glued onto you. He tapped his pen againts the table vigorously as he tried to make sense of it. For once he wasn't talking and bothering Wednesday either as he was too caught with you. Xavier was frustrated to see you like this. Again he tried his shot to wait on you, and yet again you ran away catching up with Bianca. He sighed with frustration, biting on his gum as he watched you get smaller as distance between you grew.
It was the end of the day thankfully. You walked outside and saw a glimpse of Xavier who painted on the wall yet again. You tried to sneak past him in hopes he wouldn't see you. Of couse he did though. He turned to see how you were rushing past him. "(Y/n)!" Xavier called out your name as he stepped away from his painting. But you pretended as if you didn't hear him and kept on walking. Xavier didn't let you go this time. "(Y/n)! Stop avoiding me for god sake." You heard his voice get closer to you before he latched onto your wrist, keeping you from running any further away from him. You freeze in the moment, your body getting stiff under his harsh grasp.
"Tell me what wrong? Why the hell have you been avoiding me like this for weeks now? You have totally blanked me. I at least want to know why?" Xavier looked at you with a hurt expression, his brows hanging low as his eyes were deep with emotion and question. His hair sort of messy with him jogging to catch up with you. Yet, all you could do is stare at him with an empty voice. He didn't give up however. He stood adamant and waiting for you to say something, anything. "Please (y/n)." His voice softned as he pleaded you to speak. Eventually you could muster up a big enough voice to say something to him. "I'm sorry Xavier... Bianca was upset at me and well she's my freind so I didn't want to upset her anymore than I have." You looked anywhere but Xaviers face. You didn't want to face his dissapointed gaze that stuck to you. Looking at the painting on the wall behind him as you slowly explained why. From the corner of your eye, you could see as his lips parted as you looked at you with the exact look you didn't want him to. It read 'are you serious?!'
"Biancas your freind? I'm your freind too (y/n)! And you've hurt me as well by avoiding me. Biancas jealous. She always has been." Xavier exclaimed to you as he dropped your wrist. He had thought it was maybe Biancas doing. "I'm sorry Xavier..." Your hand dropped back to your side and swung for a moment before settling. The two of you stood in silence, which Xavier broke first. "You could at least make it up by actually showing up to archery today." He told you, his voice dejected as he walked off. You stood alone for a while before turning to walk away. If it wasn't enough to be guilty for upsetting Bianca, you were now upset for hurting Xaviers feelings. But you returned to your dorm to ponder on it. Bianca was pleased because you no longer spent so much time with Xavier. Though, really she wasn't exactly looking out for you. It was more so her jealousy speaking for her.
You looked at the time - 5:40PM Bianca wasn't around... and you did want to make it up to Xavier. Dragging yourself from the warmth of your bed, you got yourself ready and headed outside - wondering if you actually wanted to even go. Xavier waited patiently, looking at the time on his phone often and looked around to see if you were around. He doubted you'd come, but he stood and waited for a person who may not ever come. It took you a while to get yourself down there, but you got outside. The fresh air coming across your face waking you up a little. Xavier saw you and relief came over him, and really he was happy. He couldn't hide the smile that hinted at his lips. "You're late (y/n) not really like you to be late like this." Xaviers tone so much lighter than it had been before. You noticed it. You croxed a laugh from your lips. "Yeah I'm sorry, but you can't say anything yourself. But I'm surprised you're here on time." Your voice perked up as you walked past him to grab a bow. It had been a while since you picked one up since you'd been avoiding Xavier. "I was waiting for you." Xavier told you with a smile on his lips before he turned to shove his hair up into a bun. Grabbing a hair tie from his wrist and slipped his long hair away from his face. The sides of his face showing.
"Wow... I didn't think you'd be this rusty. You definitely need more lessons." Xavier grimaced at the way you kept on missing, or just barely hitting the target. It made you genuinely laugh, finally a proper smile on your lips. "I know I know, but to be fair I haven't touched this thing in like twoish weeks so don't be harsh on me." You whined to Xavier while holding the bow and positioned your shoulders properly, or well... you attempted. The air around you lifted as you were able to joke about with Xavier more.
Before you parted your ways, Xavier stood infront of you again stopping you from leaving. "Promise you won't let Bianca do this again?" He looked down at you with his eyes narrowed. You nodded happily in reply. "Promise." You held out your pinky finger infront of you. Xavier gave a nasaly laugh as he locked pinkies with you, wrapping his pinky around yours. He pulled your hand closer to his chest. His face was so gentle in that moment while he looked at you. His eyes soft pools and his lashes batting at you. Only now you noticed how big and delicate his hands were. "Good, I missed my freind." He rolled his eyes before he left. "I'll see you around, so don't try avoid me." He joked while he waved at you. You smiled and waved back at him as you shook your head. You felt so much more relived now, your stomach lighter with less worry now. Plus Xavier was good at making people feel better, he was a radiant person to be about.
Xavier left you a text not long after you had left his view. Xavier : 'My dorm tomorrow? We have a project to finish. ' Well he was straight forward.

Part 4
───♡───
The project you were working on was a long one. Xavier was always the one texting you asking to come over to his dorm and work on it - you always let him do it first because he would be too busy trying to chat up Wednesday. This project seemed to be the only thing that distracted him even for a little bit.
At lunch you were sat with alone, since Bianca was doing other things. You didn't mind thought, you enjoyed the time to yourself. Picking at your food, not really fancying to eat anything so instead you dazed into the sandwich that sat infront of you. You tapped your fingers againts the dark oak table; your nails hitting the grooves in the wood. You weren't sitting alone for much longer as Xavier came over, thinking you've been ditched. Plonking himself next to you, he tapped your shoulder. You thought maybe Bianca was back so you turned to look, it was a surprise to see Xavier. "Dont you have better places to be Xavier...usually you're sitting with Wednesday?" You shake yourself off and reach for your bottle to get a drink, you had to fill your stomach with something. "Well, Wednesday isn't around so no I have nothing better to do. Plus you're sitting all alone." Xavier said almost sadly with a solemn sigh And you thought to yourself. Wow, so if Wednesday was around he wouldn't even notice. That was no surprise.
You starighted your posture and give Xavier a frown. "Bianca isn't around, but I'm fine sitting alone. So you can run off and find Wednesday." You say seriously, not really caring for it. But Xavier just laughed at the tone of your voice. He placed his elbow on the desk and held his head within his palm. His body turned to you as he watched you with a smirk. "Maybe I want to sit with you (y/n). I mean your company isn't too bad." He said with his usual cocky grin, with his teeth poking from under his lip. You huff as you look at him. "What do you want Xavier?" Maybe he wanted a favour about Wednesday or something along the lines of that. "Nothing! Can I not sit with my freind?" Huh... we're on a friendly bases now? I mean you didn't object to it. Playfully rolling your eyes as you softly giggled to yourself before finally taking a bite of the abandoned sandwich. "See you look brighter already, I'm too charming." Xavier dramatically sighed as he flattered himself. "If charmings another way to say idiotic... then yes." Xavier held his hand over his heart as he heard you words, while you laugh at his reaction. "(Y/n) you are really hurting my feelings." He said wiping his fake tears off his face. "You'll survive." You dismissed him as you shake your head. Xaviers fake hurt expression transformed back to his casual smile.
"Say what (y/n)... let's go to the cafe downtown, yknow because we've worked so hard on our project." Xavier spoke slowly as you asked you, his hand in his hair as he played with his hair that conventionally sat next to his hand. "Sure." You only gave him a breif answer. The bell rang before he could add anymore, but you already started packing up. Throwing the unfinished sandwich into the bin. "I'll text you the details later. See you about (y/n)." Xavier shot you a final look before heading off in the opposite direction to you.
You had almost forgot you even agreed to go out with Xavier until you see his text pop up on your phone. You glance at the notification before reading over it properly. Xavier : 'let's do Friday, after our last class? We'll be together anyway :)' The text read.
You placed your phone down and thought to yourself, you didn't back anything on the Friday. At least nothing you could remember in the current moment. After a few minutes, you replied to his text. Your finger tips tapping away at the screen. (Y/n) : 'yeah sure, sounds good.' And you left it at that. This would be your first time actually heading into town, you've taken your time getting to know the school and your way about it.
Friday came by faster than you expected, you sat in your last class next to Bianca. But she turned to talk to you. "(Y/n) do you want to go out with me and Yoko after this, just shopping and whatnot." You were about to agree before you remembered you already had things planned out. "Oh, I'm sorry but I've already told Xavier I'd go to the cafe with him. It's only about the project." You tried to clear up, you didn't want to upset Bianca. But it seemed like you were too late, she looked at you with a dissapointned look before clicking her tongue off the roof of her mouth. "Maybe another time then." She said with a sigh. You felt sort of bad for letting her down, she was your freind and roommate at that, and you were going out with her ex to the cafe... God that wasn't great.
The bell rung through the class, and eveyone began packing up their things to hurry up and go do the things they wanted to. People rushed out of the class, but Xavier hung around at the door. Looking at you while you walked down to him. He swayed his body back and forth with his hands deep In his pockets. As you finally reached him, you looked up at him. He had his cheeks sucked in and his lips perked out as you looked down at his shoes. An expression he pulled often. "You're standing there acting like you've asked me out on a date." You said to him, making him look back up at you immediately with a slightly surprised face. "Well, this can be a date If you want (y/n)." Xavier spoke up, a teasing reminiscent in his tone. You push him, almost throwing his balance off completely causing him to stumble back. "Oh shut up and lead the way Xavier." You shoo him forward. He mumbled something under his breath as he then began walking. Taking your place next to Xavier, you walked next to him holding your hands infront of you. "I can show you around town if you want, it would probably be good for you to get to know Jericho" He offered while looking ahead of himself, not even needing to think about where he was going. "If we have the time Xavier, that would be nice."
Xavier held the door for you, a small ding above you as the door was opened up. You walk in, and you were hit with smells of coffee and some sweet aromas mingling with the smell of the bitter coffee. Xavier walked in after you and lead you to a table for two, a small booth at the window. The two of you sat down, him sitting opposite of you. "I had to work here for outreach day... it wasn't bad. Better than the other jobs." Xavier mentioned as he slid the menu across the table for you to look over. You look up from the menu with an amused expression on your face. "I can imagine that. You in a little batista apron." You tease him, with a small laugh following. You lower your gaze back to the menu and scan through some of the items they had. It didn't take you long to decide before passing the menu back to Xavier. He goes go take the menu from you, the tips of his fingers brushing against yours. You chose to ignore that. While he looked at the menu, you watched intently as his eyes read across the things on the laminated sheet of paper.
A young man came over, standing at your table with a small note pad and pen. You moved your gaze to him instead. "What would you like the order guys?" He asked politely with a smile on his face. You went ahead and answered first. "Hm, I'll have one Cinnamon bum and also one honey and vanilla tea please?" The man nodded and jotted your order down before turning to Xavier. "Ah, just a small coffee please and a small apple tart thank you." The waiter then nods as he walks off to go through the kitchen. Xavier brought his attention to you, and leaned forward to the desk. His hands sitting on the table, holding them together. "So, what do you think from what you've seen?" Xavier questioned you. "Hm, it's nice. Not too bad, it's a sweet little town." You face the window, watching the people that passed the window. Not too far away, you noticed Bianca and her freinds. You forgot she was coming here.
Averting your gaze back to Xavier, who still had his eyes on you. "So, what made you move to Nevermore? I don't know a lot about you (y/n)." He tilts his head to the side waiting for an answer. Your answer was breif, it was nothing special. "Well, I ended up usuing my ability on a few girls who wouldn't leave me alone... it scared them. So I actually got expelled. Nothing too bad." You explained as you looked over to the counter of the cafe. A small tip jar and a few signs that sat up. "Oh, interesting..." Xavier said with a small hum in his voice. You were sort of... anxious telling him, afterall you knew why he broke up with Bianca. You bit on the inside of your cheek waiting for your order.
The wait wasn't long, afterall not many people were in. A few people dotted in some of the other seats, some from your school and others regular humans. The male came out with your stuff, placing it infront of you with a sincere smile on his lips. Maybe he took longer than needed to give everthing to you before moving on to Xavier. You didn't even wait until digging into your bun. And immediately you melted into your seat as the sweet food hit your tatse buds. "Mhh!" You hum in satisfaction, it made Xavier laugh while he warmed his hands againts the porcelain cup that contined steaming coffee. "I don't think I've seen you this happy over anything." Xavier commented before taking a sip of his coffee. You didn't even reply, you were too busy eating your cinnamon bun.
While the two of you ate and drank, you joked about and laughed together. You were enjoying your time with Xavier. Both of you sharing laughs together. Though, someome from afar observed you. Bianca to be exact. She watched as you enjoyed the company of her ex she warned you about. Grinding her teeth together in annoyance before heading off. If Wednesday wasn't enough... you were also here.
The rest of the afternoon was you and Xavier wandering around shops. Messing about and joking together. You hadn't remembered a time were you enjoyed yourself that much. You two played around, and walked around until it was dark and chilly. Time went went by so swiftly while with him. Your cheeks were sore from laughing so much around him, but the cold was getting to you. Your cheeks already rosey from laughing. But now they coated with a red blush from the cold prickling at your skin. "I think we should head back, you seem cold (y/n)." Xavier moved his hand to touch your cheek. Brushing the back of his hand softly againts your skin. "God you're cold... let's go. Its dark aswell." He pulled his hand back before leading you back through the calm streets. The two of you had a good day together. Better than you'd expected.
Again Xavier escorted you to your dorm, and waited until you were inside. "Thank you for this date Xavier. I really enjoyed it." You joked about as you brought up the small joke he made from earlier. Xavier smiled at you, bringing his hand up to his hair as he moved it out from his face. "Maybe I can bring you out on another date if you enjoyed it so much." Xavier joked right back at you with a redy hue hinting at his cheeks. You laughed together before he finally left your sight.
"A date... with Xavier?" You heard Bianca speaking as the door shut. She stood looking at you with a deepened gaze. Oh god. How were you going to get out of this...

───♡───
Just as you thought, an assignment. It was only the start of the second week of the second term and alresdy an assignment hit you across the face. You dreaded the thought so you slouched in the seat and hid away from everyone around you. You were in your own world, thinking of other things that had nothing to do with the class. In the background, your teacher was blabbering on about things no one had real interest in.
"Students, for this assignment I've paired you up as this is a shared project. Both parties In the group have to show their effort in this. So I'll call out the names." And there she went, calling out pairs she had made up. Some people were pleased, other not so much. You were still day dreaming, losing yourself in a train of thought until your heard your name being called. "(Y/n)....(y/n)!" The teacher raised her voice to snap you back to reality. You slightly jumped before looked at her and muttered your apologies under your breath. "Now that I have your attention, you'll be paired with Xavier Thorpe for this project." Well that wasn't bad was it. You nodded to the teacher and then looked over at xavier who sat a few seats infront of you. You were slightly startled to see he was already looking at you with that sly grin of his. The two of you exchanged smiles. For the remainder of the class, the teacher further explained on the assignment. Expectations and specific things. That was really all the lesson consisted of today. The end of lesson swung around fast, and you were packing up your things. In your head you were trying to plan out how to approach Xavier about this. You liked to be organised so you tried to plan it all out in these few moments.
Before you could finish thinking, you were interrupted. "(Y/n)!" Xavier called to you. You noticed how Binaca scurried away the moment he got close. She really wasn't a fan of him. Turning your attention to a hazeled eye man, you looked at him as if asking what he wanted. "Will you swing by my dorm after archery...I doubt Bianca wants me in her dorm." The last part Xavier mumbled to himself, avoiding looking at you for a moment. "Its for the project of course." He added trying to make it less awkward for the two of you. "Yeah, that sounds fine. It's good to get a head start on these things." You told him with a calm smile that curved up in your lips. Relived, Xavier ran his hand through his hair. It fell back into place. He had it down today. "Then I'll see you later (y/n)" Xavier spoke to you softly as he began to walk off out of the class. You did the same and said bye to the teacher on your way out. Already you started to think through the project and executing it in your mind even before you got to it. You cleared your mind, that was for later after all.
5:29. You already stood at the archery court, picking out your equipment. Xavier already got used to you showing up early. So he made sure he came bang on time. "Hey you weren't late for once." You spoke to the footsteps approaching you. Xavier scoffed and shook his head. "I'm literally never late. You are just too early." He said dramatically as he alresdy went to grab a bow and a few arrows. "Uhuh." You joked on as you aimed your bow. In the few lessons you've had with Xavier - you definitely improved. You wouldn't tell him that however. "Fix your shoulders." Xavier said sternly as he leaned againts a post and watched over you. Obliging, you fixed your shoulders, ruffing them up before they fell into the right place. "Like this Mr Thorpe?" You mocked him as you rolled your eyes. Catching onto the blatant mocking, Xavier straighted out his back. "Actually... no, push your right shoulder back a bit... and fix your posture. Also your hand should be lower." Well he was petty now. All his criticism followed with a short laugh, which made you laugh in turn slightly. "Right right." You said as you fixed yourself up and tried to please the bossy man next to you. "Now that's a lot better (y/n)." Xavier mused to you. "This arrow is about to go through your skull Xavier." You threatened him, not with seriousness. Not yet at least. Xavier put his arms up in defence and backed up a bit from you. "Sorry sorry." Xavier said.
Focusing for a few moments, you looked at the target and took a deep breath in before letting the arrow go. Again it missed your desired target, but at least it hit. Your arms dropped as you graoned in frustration slightly. Not getting something first try really bothered you. Maybe you were too much for a perfectionist. "You'll get better eventually, especially with my help." Xavier took that moment to boost his ego and give him sly comments. You shot him a peeved joking glare. "I think, I'm failing because of you." Xavier looked slightly offended by that comment and went ahead to pick up his own bow. "Yeah, whatever you want to think. (Y/n)" of couse his cocky ass had to one up you and hit the bullseye perfectly. It only annoyed you more to see how proud and smug he was.
The two of you continued for a longer, a lot of was Xavier really picking at you and making sure you perfected it. And you moaning about it because it bothered you. But atlast it wad wrapped up. Xavier took the gratitude to clean it all up as you stood there watching him. "You know, sure like to boss around." You spoke up to which he replied with a laugh. "Well yeah that's me." He jumped back upto his feet, and he stood taller than you once again. "Okay, now let's head off. Because we have that assignment to discuss." You don't even reply, you just follow behind him to his dorm.
It was what you'd expect an angsty boys dorm to look like. But it seems like he had no dorm mate. "You don't have a dorm mate?" You ask him while you take a quick glance around the room and some of the things inside of it. Xavier went ahead to his desk and sat some of his thing down. "No, not anymore. Something happned with his last semester." Xavier said casually, not seeming to be bothered by the absence. You go ahead and welcom yourself in and walk deeper into the room, shutting the door behind you as you walk in. For a few moments you just stood awkwardly waiting for him to say something. But Xavier was busy grabbing his note pad and a few pens to get the project started. "Oh you can sit down." He motioned to the bed with his head. You just sat down and stayed silent as you waited.
Seeing as he was getting organised, so did you. Laying out your notepad and a pen which you fiddled with in your hand. Twirling it around your fingers. "I already have a few ideas we could go over, I noted them down so I don't forget." You said showing your notes to Xavier. He leaned over and looked at them. Pondering as he did so. His hair falling forward, but he tucking it behind his ears as he continued on reading. He hummed to himself as he thought. "Hmm." Xavier paused before parting his lips to talk again. "I quite like the sound of this one. So let's do something with that?" You nodded and smiled at you.
For the hour or two spent in his room, you two began to map out a few things and establish who did what. He sat next to you on the bed, his legs crossed over with his notepad resting on his knees. You looked at your phone to see the time. Thankfully it wasn't too late so you could stay for longer. Xavier looked at you and tilted his head to the side. "I think we did quite good, do you wanna wrap up here?" To that you nodded, you were tired out now. Standing up from the bed, you starched out and heard a few joints cracking. "I'll go now. Since you have my number...from god knows where. You can text me when you want to do this next." You looked at him raising your brow, still having queries on where he got your phone number. "I'll walk you to your dorm, its dark now." Xavier too stood up and let his stuff just lay on the bed. That was for later. "Do you think I'm defenseless Xavier Thorpe?" You pressed the question onto him as you alresdy made your way to the door, which he followed you shaking his head. "No. But weird shit happens at this school...so I wanna be cautious. Plus your knew." Xavier told you as he peered down at you with his calm gaze. You didn't make a fuss and instead let him walk with you.
The halls were now lit with dim lights that set a nice mood. It was still cold though. They were mainly empty with a few stay students lingering around. Xavier knew excalty where to go, so there was no need to lead him. He walked close to your side, occasionally glancing at you to see if you were looking at him. A soft perky smile on his lips. When you got there, you looked at him and gave him a greatful smile. "Well, thank you for walking me. I'll see you later Xavier." Opening the door to your room, Bianca was inside and she definitely heard you say his name. "Yeah, I'll see you later (y/n). Night." And for a moment he caught the eyes of Bianca who looked displeased. But quickly shutting the door, leaving Xavier to his own. Bianca said nothing... just looked at you with something in her eyes. You should have thought this through better.
You said nothing either, instead you got into your bed and straight onto your phone to see a text from no other but Xavier : Xavier - 'good work today. We'll ace this.' You smile at the nice text and tuck your phone away. Today was another successful day. Now you got to enjoy the rest by sleeping.

Part 2
───♡───
Spending the afternoon with Xavier, it turns out he was pretty funny. He was nice to he around, even if it was to help you with archery. Thought a lot of the time all be spoke about was Wednesday, it was sort of annoying. Whatever we spoke about, the subject changed to Wednesday. Wednesday this, Wednesday that. God was he obsessed with her. It was once sided however.
You were adjusting fine to the new school and the new environment. You made a fair share of freinds, Bianca and her freinds and then again you occasionally spoke to Wednesday.
"You know Xavier is madly inlove with you." You told Wednesday the obvious as you sat next to her. Of couse she gave no reaction, just looked at you with a vacant expression. "Well he needs to get the hint I don't reciprocate those feelings." You laughed at her straight forward answer with her dull eyes. Though, Wednesday didn't see what was funny about it. "He talks about you all the time you know, I've seen his drawings." You mused to Wednesday as he budged your shoulder againts hers. "I've seen them too. And I dread looking at myself. He's wasting his talent." You gave up and sighed to yourself. "Why don't you try him out?" You asked the question. "(Y/n) the last man I actually tried things out with turned out to be a psychopath. I'm not doing that again." Wednesday stood up abruptly and looked down at you. Defeated, you decided to leave. "Yeah yeah okay." You're voice trailed into silence as you left the dorm room.
Walking down the dark plank walls, walking back outside. You snuffed the cold air up your nose. It was chilly out, more than usual. Not many people were out, but with no fail you see Xavier. He stands at a wall as he paints one of the walls. Curious on what he's doing, you walk over to him. Creeping up from behind. He hates it, but you secretly adore making him jump. Again you stand behind him, peering your eyes past him as you look at his painting. All you do is stand and gaze at the painting. You get lost in thought. "I like the colours." You decide to speak up, making Xaviers shoulders jump as he almost drops his paint brush. "You need to stop doing that." Xavier said as he turned to look down at you. His eyes met yours. "Are you not cold painting outside like this?" You ask as you walk buy him to take a closer look at the painting. Just to see the detail up close. Though Wednesday didn't appreciate his art, you certainly did. Xavier now behind you, shook his head as he continued to look at you. His eyes followed as you moved closer to the painting. "No, not really. My hands are cold but that's about it." His knuckles now a dusty red along with his fingers tips and nose. You turn back to look. "You make really nice drawings Xavier." You totally ignored what he say and come back with your own comment. The comment seemed to make him fluster and shake his head. "Thank you (y/n) at least some appreciate my art. Unlike others..." He was talking about Wednesday. You laugh at his comment as you averted your gaze from his, looking over to the open space were the crows of people had thinned out. "Maybe its best if you go inside now. If your hands freeze and fall off, you won't be able to paint." You say as you shrug your shoulders nonchalantly and walk past him, heading inside. Even you were cold, and would much rather be inside than in the nipping colds. Xavier glanced down at his hands and internally agreed with what you said. Quickly packing up to catch up to your side. He held his equipment under his arm as he now walked by your side. "I never asked why you ended up at this school. Or really, what I'm asking is what's your ability?" Xavier tried to find the right words to not offend you when he asked the question. From the corner of his eyes he looked at you, waiting momentarily for your reply. You paused, and didn't know if you should tell him. With your ability you were always deemed untrustworthy and manipulative. But Xavier would know better than to think that. Right?
"I can...do stuff with minds. I can look into a person's mind and see what they think, and all sorts of things." You tried to explain as you walked into the warmer interior of the academy. "So... you can manipulate minds?" Xavier shorted what you said. His tone curious. You hated the way he worded it but he was right. "Well I wouldn't say it like that, but yes I suppose that's what it is. But since you asked the question, what can you do?" You brushed past the topic trying to bring the focus onto something else. Xavier glanced at his artsy things in his hold. "I bring drawings to life." He said with a smile on his face. And you looked at him, his hair pulled away from his face into a man bun with exra hair hanging down his neck ; that was angled down to look at you. "Wow, that's really cool actually. That makes sense now actually. I bet you can pull lots of pranks with that." He did look like the devious type. With a smirk on his face, he gave a halfassed laugh. "Well yeah I suppose I can." Xavier shrugged his shoulders. You took a step back away from him. "Anyway, bye. I'll see you at archery tomorrow... its too cold today." You didn't give Xavier a chance to reply as you had already turned around to leave. Walking in the direction of your dorm section. "Aww that's a shame, I was looking forward to seeing you." You heard from behind as Xavier teased as he too turned away to go up to his dorm room. A smile hinted on your lips at his humor.
Arriving at your dorm, Bianca was sat on her bed on her phone as you walked in. She took a moment to register that you walked in. "Oh hey (y/n) where were you?" She placed her phone faced down and raised her head to watch you as you placed your bag down before you sluggishly got into the warmth of your bed. "I was with Wednesday, and then pumped into Xavier." Biancas expression dimmed. "Oh well." She said picking her phone back up. You took this opportunity to ask why she always seemed like this. "Hey Bianca, whats up with you and Xavier, I mean you always seem to get annoyed whenever he's mentioned." You enquired as you strighted your posture to look at her and analyse her face. Silence lingred in the air. The two of you just sitting there waiting for somsone to speak. "He's my ex. He broke up with me and accused me of using my siren powers on him to manipulate him." Bianca replied bluntly. Her words catching you off guard for a moment. "Oh I'm sorry." You replied not knowing how to sympathise with her. "Well I understand now, I would be bitter too if he did that." Your head lowered away from her as you looked down at your hands that were all red from the cold. "If that wasn't worse enough. He lets Wednesday walk all over him no problem." Bianca processed to mutter under her breath but you still caught onto what she said. You decided to ignore it.
Either way, your phone vibrated in your pocket. Reaching for it to go see what it was. It was a text.
A text reading : 'Hey (y/n) it's xavier. ' How the hell did he get your number. You didn't recall giving it to him. Glancing up from the text and Bianca. You decided to answer. (Y/n) - 'Care to explain HOW you got my number?' Xavier replied only a few moments later. Xavier - 'that's you don't need to know. But that's one way to say hi back.'
You rolled your eyes and continued to reply. The two of you exchanged a few texts here and there, but most of the time you took ages to reply to him. But it wad mutual.
What a strange guy you thought to yourself. As you looked over his number before placing your phone down next to you. You pulled out homework for your herbology class, the new teacher really put a lot of homework In the first week for you. Now that you think of you... she mentioned an assignment.

Part one - introduction
────♡────
The air changed when you walked through the gates of Nevermore Academy. It was the place said to take in people who didn't fit in with others. In simple words - Freaks. You never got along with other kids, you were seen as rash, scary, manipulative. You were a mind wander, you should invade a person's mind, feed them lies, see what they thought of you and even put images into their minds that they wouldn't be able to get rid of. You were used to hearing everyone else's thoughts apart from yours.
"I hope you have a good semester (y/n) we'll contact you." Your mother said holding your fathers hand. They looked at you with smiles carved onto their lips as they watched you delve deeper into the school. You simply waved back before their voices grew weaker in your ears. Now you heard rumbling of all the other students that gathered outside. They spoke to eachother and interacted. Being singled out, you stood clueless not knowing what course of action you should approach first. You felt a presence next to you. "You must be (y/n) we share a dorm, my name is Bianca." Turning to see the person talking to you, she had captivating eyes. Moments passed before you could respond. "Oh. Nice to meet you Bianca, and you are right on the dot. I'm (y/n)" A smile hinted at your lips as you looked at the woman that stood confidently in front of you. "Come, it's best if I show you around. You're new right?" You nodded in response as you began to follow Bianca closely. "Over these is Enid and Wednesday. They two done a fair bit last semester. And there, Thats Xavier with Ajax." You noticed how her voice was bitter when she said the name of the first male. With a quick glance his way, you could get s glimpse of his face. But you looked back to Bianca before you could look better. "I know Wednesday. Our family is rather close. So I've heard what happned last semester." You explained as you walked holding you own hand infront of you.
Bianca showed you around marjorty of the school before she took you to the shared dorm you had with her. "Make yourself at home, I'll be gone for a bit." The girl rushed to say before leaving the room, the door closing behind her. Now you were alone again. Taking a quick look around, you noticed her side of the room was decorated nicely. It was sophisticated. Your side of the room was bland and empty. With a huff you got to work ; unpacking your things and neatly putting them away. Hours passed before you were finally done. Finally, you thought to yourself as you slumped into your bed. The smell of home among you sheets. 'I shouldn't stay slumped for too long' you thought to yourself before pushing yourself up. Time for a bit exploring on your own.
You left your dorm room before you walked through the halls to find yourself outside back in the mian local area. A few people mingled around, talking and sitting with eachother. Only one thing caught your eye, a male that stood alone with a bow in his arms as he aimed. That seemed to peak you interest. Walking in his direction, you stood directly behind him silently. After a few attemps he finally got a bullseye. "Well done." You finally spoke up. It made the male jump as he dropped his bow, he turned defensively as his brows knotted. "What the hell! God. You can't do that." He said in a huff as he looked down on you. Xavier, the guy Bianca mentioned. You stared at him. "Hello?" He clicked his fingers in your face making you brake from your trance. "My apologies." Was all you said. In return you received a scoff from the Xavier. "So... what brings you here new girl?" He asked you dismissively as he reached down to grab his bow from the damp ground. Your eyes followed him as his stature got smaller. "Well, If it isn't obvious I want to join the archery club." You told him directly as you folded your arms over your chest. Xavier looked at you with his brow raised as a smug look came across his face. "Yeah?" He asked, again you just nodded. "Well what's your name then...I'm Xav-" before you could finish you beat him too it. "Xavier Thorpe. Nice to meet you I'm (y/n) Binaca told me about you." Being taken back he just laughed it off. "Uhuh..Bianca. Well nice to meet you too. I guess welcome to archery."
You didn't need to hear anymore, so you took your leave turning around and walking away. Xavier watched as you abandoned him coldy. A small chuckle left his mouth. "I'll see you tomorrow then." He called out to you as he walked off, but you left him hanging with no reply. You reminded him of a special someone he already knew.
First day of classes, herbology was first on your timetable. You sat with Bianca, you and her got along good so far. Observing your surroundings, you saw Xavier and Wednesday. His body turned to her as he talked to her. He so obviously liked her, but seeing Wednesday having no interest made you laugh. "Is he always like that?" You turned to ask Bianca. Again she has a bitter look on her face, you wondered what could make her like this. "Yes, since the start of the last Semester. He's been obsessed with her." She answered tapping her pen on her desk. Bianca was annoyed, it was clear. Best to change subject.
Class went by swiftly, and now you were packing up. You held a notebook in your hands as you left the room. Being halted at the door with a familiar man standing between you and the exit. "Hey, I'll see you later at archery?" Xavier spoke with a grin on his face. You raised your gaze to look at him, slightly annoyed be stood infront of you. "Yeah." You said pushing past him to get to your next class, but he caught up with you. "Is it true you know Wednesday?" He fired the question at you. Well now you knew why he was so egar to talk to you. "Yes, but don't think I'll answer all your questions about her." You sped up as he tried to get away from him, but you couldn't lose the guy. "I was just asking..." His voice curled in on himself. "Well keep your questions for when we aren't walking to class." You told him lastly before taking a sharp corner. Maybe he liked Wednesday a lot more than you thought. Funny.
Like you told him, you were there right on time. But xavier was nowhere to be seen. Well you didn't need him to start you off anyway. You grabbed a bow and a few arrows and placed them down by your side. Fast approaching footsteps from behind came your way. "Hey hey, sorry I'm a bit late." Xavier said slightly out of breath. But you didn't even bother replying. Raising the bow up infront of you with the arrow aimed at the big red dot in your field of vision. Xavier stood behind you as his arm slithered across yours to position it properly. His hand placed ontop of yours as while she shifted your arm slightly. "A little warning would be nice before you decide to get so close." You spoke up softly under your breath, but all he did was slightly chuckle. "Your stance isn't right." Xavier said as he pulled away from him, his arm hand dropping from yours. Taking a deep breath in, you let go of the string as the brow cut through the air. It hit outside the bullseye. Instead it hit one of the outside targets. You sighed, slightly annoyed. "You messed me up." You blamed your failur on Xavier. "My fault? Wow." He rolled his eyes as he reached for another bow and arrow. "I think, you just aren't good as me." As he said it, his arrow hit the bullseye. And he looked at you with a smirk a bit too proud of himself.
"Shut up." You grabbed another arrow from next to you and positioned it. "I mean, I wouldn't mind giving you a few lessons if you need them." Xaviers bow lowered as he proposed the idea to you. You looked at him with narrow eyes trying to see if he was serious or not. "Fine. Only a few lessons. See if you teaching is any good." You gave in, but you had to learn one way or another. Xavier looked pleased with himself as he put his hair up in a bun.
"Dont underestime me (y/n)"
