How it’s going

I was working on a game mechanic for Lorelai’s Forest, and it spiraled into me spending a whole weekend coding a second, much smaller game.

It feels little sacrilegious to release it before Lorelai’s done, but ima do it anyways.

The demo is done. THE DEMO IS DONE! I’m just having people try to break it rn so that I can showcase it in its best possible form for C2E2.

The fact that I get to showcase the game at a table AT C2E2 is batshit in itself, and I wanna make sure it doesn’t have any insanely glaring issues before releasing it to the public.

Last night a friend playtested it blind, and it went amazing up until the very end, when I saw the worst software gore I think i’ve ever seen in this game. The issue’s fixed now, but WOW was that a jumpscare lolol

I am so FREAKING EXCITED about how Beta Testing is going, but it’s showing me how much I still need to add to the game in order to make it scary and interesting. The puzzles all work great, thank god, but now I need to actually make a proper storyline and add more compelling scares ._.

Will it be finished by Halloween? I have no freakin’ idea!

I gotta at least have the beginning and end implemented before opening up testing to more than just people close to me, but FUCK I WANNA JUST RELEASE IT SO PEOPLE CAN PLAY ITTT

Seeing all my friends running around getting killed over and over and trying to break everything is a joy I don’t think I can properly describe
