Just created an itch.io page for my future videogame!!

It's a game where you brew tea and also meet some furry fellas! Kinda like coffee and talk, but more focused on the tea elaboration and a little less on the narrative (the characters still have their own unique and interesting stories!).
I will make all the art and also all the programming part! So yeah, wish me luck guys!! Hehehe

July Update - Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

Hey everyone!
Alright, so I know there are a number of you who are wondering about Poptropica: Legends, and first let me just say -- thank you so much for your interest and support! This project means so much to all of us and every day we grow more confident that we’re on the right creative path. The team has grown rapidly since we really ramped up production 3 months ago, and we’re working around the clock to make sure the finished game is, as the kids say, “peak”. There are 25 team members now, enough to make my head spin -- as the project manager, the more people I bring on, the more we accomplish, the less time I have for art! This is, of course, a tale as old as time.
Our website got a major overhaul, as we’d like to put our best foot forward for newcomers and fans alike. This new face is more animated, interactive, and professional! Have fun exploring all the interactable elements scattered throughout. More additions to come in the following days. As always, check it out at: www.poplegendsgame.com.

With that said, I know we promised you guys the Meridian’s Lighthouse Beta Demo for Patreon Patrons by the end of this month, and sadly, it doesn’t seem to be in the cards. To be honest with you, this project truly is massive, and there’s so much work to be done. Many of us work full-time on top of contributing, which is already a lot - and as far as funding, that’s almost entirely coming out of my (Andrew Wiles) own pocket. Our Patreon brings in $30 a month right now, which we’re extremely grateful for! That said, it’s definitely not enough to help off-set the time we must spend working our day jobs.
Specifically, I'd like to thank Poptropica Legends Lucky Joker and HoneyBee for their continued monetary support - you guys were here at the very beginning! This generosity will not be forgotten.
We also have undergone some restructuring with our programming team management -- things should be running much more smoothly now in that part of the project. The Unity build DOES exist, don’t worry -- but as it currently stands, our art department is running laps around our programmers (there are only three programmers, go figure!). While we could go ahead and release what we have right now, I think it’s best to wait until we have a slightly more polished product before releasing it into the world - by August 15th we hope to have a Version Alpha ready for you to check out!

With that said, you’re totally allowed to be a little disappointed, and I completely get it-- so to hold you over, here’s a little sneak-preview of all the amazing stuff our art, voice acting, and sound departments have been cooking up!

Please keep in mind: this is not final gameplay footage! We still have quite a bit of polish to go, but it gives you an idea of the level of quality we’re hoping to achieve. Here’s another preview, showcasing the full Booga intro with sound design!

Again, I want to apologize for the delayed beta release -- but do keep in mind, only Patreon Patrons would’ve been able to access it anyway! The more funding we’re given, the more time we can devote to this as opposed to our day-jobs - and the faster you guys will be able to experience this new game. We’d love your feedback on the new site! Also, if you’re a Patreon Patron and want to see more behind-the-scenes, let us know which department you want to tour next.

I am a solo indie dev trying to overcome my anxiety and actually let people know my game exists. It is a cute physics based game where you are the level.

indie games are safe!!
good news! unity has walked back a lot of the runtime fee!
they made a blog post outlining their new terms, the link is here. but if you want a sparknotes version, here's the highlights:
1. the runtime fee is not retroactive. previously released games are safe.
2. the fee only applies to the next major version of unity. developers can choose not to upgrade if they don't want do deal with it.
3. the fee is opt-in and number of installs is self-reported. if they'd prefer, developers can instead pay a 2.5% revenue share. (for reference, unreal is 4%.)
4. interestingly, the splash screen is being completely removed. this is probably a way to improve their reputation.
overall, this is a HUGE improvement! but, if I remember right, there was not any revenue share before, so, we are not at the same point we started. unity will still be taking a larger cut of developers' revenue if they choose to use newer features. but, it is nowhere near as drastic as we thought it would be.
overall, I think we're in a stable spot now, but I also think unity has lost most if not all of the trust it had. especially with indies. there has already been a mass exodus, and I kinda hope that will keep going.

Hello Lovelies,
It’s been nearly a year since I last publicly updated The Six That Thrive, and I have many conflicted feelings. First, I am extremely happy with this project and extremely happy to continue, but I’m also really having to come to terms with the fact that TSTT is a rough draft. And having to figure out my writing style that I really like, which is a mixture of good characterization as well as good description. So it’s been a hard balance—and one I’m not completely happy with—but that’s okay. The bare bones of this project are good, and I will continue to aim higher for the future chapters.

QUESTIONS:
Many have asked if I’ll continue to disappear and not post. The answer is no! I’m happy with Chapters 1–6, and future chapters will be posted one by one with early releases, as well as alternating between Ifs.
With interaction, I will have dedicated days throughout the month to post and respond to all messages, to give myself a break and focus on things outside my writing! With Patreon | | Ko-fi, I will—and have over the year—continue to post updates, behind-the-scenes, and commissions!! So thank you!!
