At a friends insistence, I finally finished reading the Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. Is anyone else looking forward to the Netflix show based on the Grishaverse?

This painting is both my best work to date and my worst nightmare. I didn't want to work on it. I couldn't stay away. Paint. Erase. Redo. Repeat.

I am pleased with how it finally turned out though, so I decided to take the time to stage it in a pretty picture.

Ever have those moments where you wondered what would happen if you were the main character of the book you’ve been reading and absolutely adore?  Yup, me too!

And that got me to thinking about what would happen if I was in the Hunger Games instead of Katniss.

Finally put together a picture of my book haul from July. Twenty books total thanks to the Realm Maker’s conference and the YMCA book fair in St. Louis.

I bought the third book in the Princess Academy series by Shannon Hale approximately 1476 days ago (which sounds like a lifetime, but is really only 4 years.) FOUR YEARS. Why have I not read it yet? I still have no idea.

Yes, I’m still a little obsessed with Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young, and I couldn’t resist making quote art for the Aska clan’s motto ‘Honor above life.’

Favorite fairy tail? Favorite Disney princess?

It’s hard to choose a favorite fairytale. They are all equally strange and unusual in my mind, but I have whittled them down to my top four: Maid Maleen, The Goose Girl, East of the Sun West Of The Moon, and All-Kinds-Of-Fur.

As for a favorite Disney Princess, I’d have to say Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Have you ever accidentally borrowed a book from the library? I just did! Not only was borrowing Blood Water Paint a surprise, it’s also not a genre I read much of. I decided to give it a try though and found the story surprisingly heavy and poignant.
