Common Name[s]: Snub-Nosed Junglerunner, Short-faced Junglerunner

An easily-tamed species, about pony sized and commonly used as pack-animals or as mounts for children. Omnivorous, with a diet consisting of 72% plants and 28% insects or small animals like rodents. They are flightless, but jump well enough to reach low branches and enjoy roosting when possible. Nests are created by digging into the ground and then creating a pile of decaying foliage in which the eggs are laid and then incubated, with the mother sitting on top and guarding the clutch. Chicks are cared for throughout their first few months of life but then go their own ways once large enough. The eggs are edible, and most females will produce 1-3 eggs per day during laying season in late winter and spring. Nest building tends to occur in fall, when there’s an abundance of dying plants available. They are not the smartest, though some individuals have proven to be outliers. Despite this, they more than make up for their lack of intelligence with personality and are very fun creatures to own or observe in the wild. They come in a large variety of colors, with this specimen showcasing the “Blue” coloration.

Common Name: “Velvet Wildfire” or “Ember Crested Velvet Wyvern”

Hermaphroditic species, named for the vibrant color of their crests and underwing as well as their velvety, short fur. Dominance and color intensity are dictated by the levels of testosterone in an individual. Testosterone levels can be dictated by prey availability, nest temperature pre-hatching, and size of the clutch hatched from. They are omnivorous, with an ideal diet consisting of 80% meat and 20% vegetation. Colors can very wildly, with this specimen displaying a dilute and merle patterning. Wing pattern can vary from individual to individual. They are an excellent mount species and are well known to bond very closely to their riders.

Unfortunately, I’m not very good at drawing maps. Hello! Welcome, new visitor! I’m Abel, one of the two caretakers of this island and the pokemon on it. This is the main map of the island. As you can see, we don’t have any roads or large towns. There are a few paths, but this map doesn’t happen to display them. Travel is mainly done by pokemon, whether it be flight or riding. Here on the island, battling the wild pokemon to capture them is not permitted, and we have to ask that in place of battle you attempt to befriend the pokemon you’d like to catch instead. We also have to ask that you not attempt to capture any “tagged” pokemon or legendaries you might happen to glimpse while here. “Tagged” pokemon have a small amount of pokemon-safe dye on their backs or ears, a bracelet, or a tracking collar. These pokemon have either been rescued from rough situations, are personal companions of ours, or are being used for research! If you happen to befriend one of these tagged pokemon, please let us know!
