A common mistake I notice when people try to make a thing with a story, especially when worldbuilding, is they to try and cram everything they like into it at the same time even if they undermine each other.

And it feels like people forget they can make multiple settings and even share concepts and metaphysics.

You can just write multiple settings to use in your ttrpg games you make for your friends, you don't need to try and make cram together shining knights saving the day for good & justice, and cyberpunk dystopia where no good deed goes unpunished. You can just make them two different settings, but the metaphysics how the supernatural works, magiks, spirits, and the afterlifes, can just be same in both.

Gameswork does that alot, on multiple levels too! Warhammer Fantasy, Age of Sigmar, and 40k are all separate universes while things are still shared! And 40k itself also has multiple setting while being the uniserve, 30k is temporarily separated, while Nercomunda is a single planet that acts as its own setting!

Don't feel like you have to make everything unique, or have to put everything into one thing!

And don't worry, sometimes a world or setting is good for just this one story or ttrpg campaign, that fine and good that means you can just make everything to support that one story!

You all remember how Kassidy started. I do too, so I wanted to revisit her space-western look! I'm reusing the skele-arm from her warhammer au because it looks too darn cool.

Also cuz Deadhand Kassidy is a cool cowboy name hehe.

F.E.A.R. but Alma Wade is the protagonist instead.

I felt nostalgic for the old games. You wouldn't think that something that mixed anime miltech, Matrix style gunfights and J-Horror would work together, but FEAR did so and it fucking slapped. I found myself asking the question of what a distant sequel or reboot would look like, and the idea of simply making Alma Wade the protagonist just... caused everything to click together.

So, as those who played the games recall, Alma was a psychic who's power manifested at the age of 8. Fearful of her power, the people running experiments on her, as well as her own father, put her into an induced coma in an effort to contain her. Only waking her up when they... needed her at only 14 years of age.

In this AU, she wakes up at her own accord four years in aged 12.

Cue the screaming.

And so, stumbling out of the dark, we have a girl wandering into the Fairport metro with a shell-shocked look on her face. She barely remembers just what happened, or anything at all about her past... other than that they deserved it. So she winds up growing up at a city orphanage instead. It wasn't too bad all things considered. Growing up without remembering anything even gave her a chance at something resembling a normal life.

At least until that divine spark began to return to her.

i have a quastion ☝️ about sheng. she has really big horns, how does that work? i'd assume they're super heavy. are they kind of like bird bones with air pockets? or does she have a really strong neck? does she get neck pain from them? and (if the horns are not like bird bones) how does she balance if there's so much more weight in the back?

I've seen... SO many comments and questions over how Sheng manages to live with seemingly enormous assets on her head!
