If this doesn't melt your heart, then you don't have one. There's a lot of memories hiding behind those eyes. Happy 90th Pa. #worldsbestgrandpa #WWIIVet #olderthandirt #myhero

Flea Market Flip
FleaLand is my favorite place to shop for kitchen props. It's like treasure hunting for me. There's something fascinating about digging through junk to find that one thing giving off a heavenly tone as it catches your eyes and then a light from heaven miraculously shines down upon it at that very moment in time....well that's how the story always plays out in my head. It may seem more poetic to me than it does for others, but I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. Am I right?  Check out my treasure in this photo. I'm thinking a tasty piece of pie, or maybe, blackberry cobbler would look most delicious sitting on top these floral print china plates. Any thoughts?

New Beginnings
2014, a clean slate and a fresh start to bigger and better things. My new years resolution is to stop procrastinating so therefore I started my day retouching some old photos. So what's your resolution this year?  Maybe you're preparing to eat healthier, or you've decided to quit smoking, stop drinking, or perhaps you're planing to save money and reduce your debt. Some of us will carry these resolutions with us throughout the entire year, while others, well, we might be sinking our lips into that creamy and moist carrot carrot we told ourselves we weren't going to devour...................(many seconds later, I returned from the kitchen) Oops, there goes my other resolution. Whatever comes your way, I wish you all the very best of 2014. Here's to a new day, a new year, and new beginnings.

Limitless Possibilities
I'm never surprised by the measures photographers will go to capture that perfect photo...Todays shoot involved squatting down between bushes, completely surrounded by shrubbery just to get the perfect angle. Is it erratic or is it passion?  One day I might cross that imaginary line of what's considered "going too far" to get the shot I need, but so far nothing has came close to stopping me. Shooting in the rain, walking through spider webs, crawling in tight spaces, climbing great heights, fighting off mosquitos, battling allergic reactions brought on by the environment.... whatever comes my way, I'm ready! The possibilities are limitless.

This is Paul Janeway. He is incredibly talented. Everyone should see St. Paul & The Broken Bones performing live. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to shoot at Live On The Green this year.

This was my first time shooting real fire in the studio. Thanks to several assistants, I had an amazing shoot, captured many great images, and nobody was burned during the process. Although, I got pretty scared for my friend, Nick, holding a fork with a flaming chilli pepper drenched in lighter fluid. We had a few close calls...Maybe next time we'll clamp the fork to a pole.
Director and photographer Tim Jarvis of Jarvis Media shot video during the process, so as soon as I get my video together, I'll upload a post showing how we shot these images.

Kitchen Decor Series, Image #2.
I originally planned to shoot these green beans inside a wire basket but after two days of rummaging through every thrift store I could find, I compromised for an old colander.  I love digging through consignment shops to find once-useless junk that I can repurpose into vintage treasures!

This photo of raw spaghetti and penne noodles is the first in my new series of kitchen decor prints. This image was shot in the studio using glass blocks to soften and create patterns of light. The grain was added during post production by using photoshop filters. Next weeks image will include green beans and a wire basket. Check back for the results!

I went outside my comfort zone and fell victim to the over-saturated HDR technique.
Sometimes you have to slow down and enjoy the simple things. Country road, take me home!
