Vee Week 2025 FAQ

What is this?

Vee Week, or Veek, is a celebration of our favorite basilisk. We're hoping to encourage new fanworks of all kinds!

When is it?/Why those dates?

Veek will take place from Thursday, August 14th to Wednesday, August 20th. Those dates were chosen because Yesterday's Lie (Vee's debut episode) first aired on August 14, 2021. It's also the planned release date for the @vee-fanzine!

That said, it's never "too late" to be inspired or post fanworks. We'll be most actively reblogging tagged posts during actual Veek, so keep that in mind if you decide to post early or late.

Are there prompts?

There will be three to choose from each day and five alternate prompts as well. For each day, you may choose one or more of that day's prompts, or use an alternate prompt. The prompts are shown below and here (along with tagging notes):

Are there event graphics?

@lunar-jewels put together the banner and prompt list in this post, along with participation badges! The participation badges will be linked here soon.

What can I make?

You can make or write basically anything: meta, headcanons, haikus, limericks, 100 word drabbles, ficlets, long fics, traditional art, digital art, gifsets, rec lists, cosplay, embroidery, latte art, fanvids, etc. One fanwork can be used to fill multiple prompts. If you have an ongoing WIP and want to incorporate a prompt into a new chapter, that's fine too!

What if I'm not interpreting a prompt correctly?

We are not policing people's interpretations of the prompts. If a prompt inspires you to create, that's fantastic!

Is there an AO3 Collection?

Yes! This will open around August 13, 2025. You can post fanworks there, or add bookmarks to external links (like Tumblr posts with fan art).

Are there any other Vee fandom events?

YES! The @vee-fanzine is accepting contributions from anyone until August 1, 2025 and will release on August 14, 2025.

There is also the @toh-cookbook-zine! While not Vee-specific, you are more than welcome to contribute Vee-centric recipes (edible Hexes Hold'Em cards, anyone?) along with food-related trivia/meta, fanworks, and fanfic. Volume I submissions due by the end of September.

The thing about Vee and Masha is that they both are going have the most boring jobs imaginably. Vee is going to live her best, most fulfilling life, as a Mid-Level Accountant working 9-5. Masha is gonna transfer from volunteering at a History Society to being the IT Specialist for Local Government or the Hospital or something. They are gonna be the most white picket fence shapshifter-enby couple ever. Every time Luz visits she's going to go insane from boredom. But this is legit what makes them happy.

It took almost 5 months between the original idea and finishing it, probably my biggest art project I've finished. Enjoy!!

Devil went Down!Amity finally meets her Mom, and things could not be going any worse (more after the cut)

Amity yanked herself out of the nightmare, pulling back her tentacle. She... she needed some space. Backing away, the demon looked down at her sleeping mother. If she was smart, she would have shadowwalked away and never returned. Instead, though, she found herself unconsciously morphing back into her true form. For what felt like an eternity, Amity just stood there, watching as the woman that had brought her into this world had a nightmare about her own child.

After a few minutes, Odalia slowly awoke, groaning and sitting up. "Calm yourself, Odalia," she muttered, reaching to a bottle on her nightstand. "She's gone and will never..."

The Blight matriarch froze, staring at the demon standing in her bedroom. After a singular blink, the woman loosed a bloodcurdling scream, scrambling off the bed and stumbling backwards, hoping to put as much distance between her and the Devilspawn as possible. Amity, for her part, just stood there, having no idea what to do in this situation. Billy's training hadn't covered "What to do when you find your bio mom and she loses her shit thinking that she'd killed you by leaving you abandoned on the roadside as an infant but you are actually alive."

"You should be dead!" Odalia screeched, frantically reaching behind her for a weapon, eventually settling on aiming a letter opener at Amity. The woman brandished it like a dagger, jabbing it at the air in the demon's direction.

Amity gave a short laugh. "Good luck with that.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Odalia asked with a frown. Her hand wavered, the letter opener shaking.

The demon shrugged her shoulders, walking over and yoinking the letter opener from Mommy Dearest. She began picking at her fingernails with the blade, cleaning out the dirt and grime. "Well, for starters, you can't kill me. Like, at all."

"What?" Odalia repeated.

Amity smirked. "One of the benefits of being a demon is immortality. I'm unkillable." The demon paused. "Thanks, Mom," she said sarcastically, dropping the letter opener and kicking it back over to Odalia. "Come on, try to hurt me. I dare you."

Odalia slowly bent down and picked up the letter opener, her hand shaking. Slowly, her face contorted into a snarl. "Get the hell out of my house, you freak!" Charging forward, she rammed the blade into Amity's abdomen.

Amity frowned and looked down at the blade, and then back up at her mother, whose face was still one of rage. "Aww, you just ruined my really nice hoodie. That's not cool." Pushing Odalia away, the woman fell on her behind. Amity slowly withdrew the letter opener from her stomach, not even a single drop of blood staining the blade.
