Love Doesn’t Hurt
Tumblr media
In this world full of doubts, love is a luxury not everyone can afford. Moreover, some people believe that love only brings pain and suffering. When in reality, love is the only feeling that does not hurt. For instances such as family, friendly, and romantic relationship, love gives everyone the sense of joy and contentment. It also gives everyone the chance of loving others and being loved by others – the two greatest thing life can offer.  All things considered, life teaches us that love is a harmless and beautiful feeling we should not be afraid of.

A Father’s Love
Tumblr media
Fathers can be categorized by the way they show their love and how they take care of their children into three groups: a strict, cool, or loving father. A strict father is a type of father who disciplines his child in a rigorous manner. In some occasions where you make mistakes, this type of father will take it as a big deal and punish you. In the long run, a strict father may influence you positively, to be disciplined and responsible or negatively, to be a rebel. Next, the second type of father is a cool father who is always patient and does not meddle with his children’s business. They always make jokes and influence their children to be optimistic in life. Lastly, the third type is a sweet and loving father who treats his children as treasure. This type of father always gives time to his children and shows his affection. A loving father also makes his children a daddy’s girl or a papa’s boy. Moreover, they influence their children to be a warm and loving person. To sum it up, a father’s love is shown in different ways but his influence will instill in your hearts forever.

“Different but Friends”
Tumblr media
Being different from each other does not stop two people to become friends. Emy and I are different in almost everything and it is unlikely to think that we are close friends. During high school, I attended Universidad de Sta. Isabel – Pili Campus, a private catholic school. While Emy attended Camarines Sur National High School, a public school, under the SPA curriculum. Thus, our high school background affect our study habit and perspectives about learning. Another, when it comes to hobby, I prefer doing things alone while Emy wants to be with other people. I like watching anime and reading books when I am bored. On the contrary, Emy prefers going out and spends her time with others. Lastly, our personalities are opposite from each other. I am a moody person and impatient in everything. Emy, on the other hand, is an approachable and jolly person. In instances when we are together, we always experience people approaching Emy rather than me. Moreover, Emy have more friends because of her personality while I often get in argument because of my temper. Although Emy and I are different, we are comfortable hanging out with each other.

A Broken Family Breaks
Tumblr media
As the song Only Exception goes, “and that was the day that I promised I’d never sing of love if it does not exist”. Likewise, growing up from a broken family has many negative effects. The first effect of having a broken family is the incapability to love others. A child who witnessed his/her parents divorcing might lose interest in marriage. For example, a person who has divorced parents may lost faith in love and he/she may start not trusting others causing him/her to be introvert. Also, the past experience might cause him/her to copy his/her parents and jump from one relationship to another. Another effect of having broken family is that it influences a child to be a rebel. Moreover, a child might seek attention from external surrounding such as bad friends and bad vices. The final effect of having a broken is when a child loses interest in life. She/he might grow up without ambitions or goals in life. Furthermore, a person who have no parents to guide him/her may have suicidal thoughts. She/he might commit suicide because of his/her inability to handle the pain he/she felt. All in all, a broken family has many negative effects, thus parents should consider their children’s feelings before deciding to separate or divorce.

Writing (Reflection Paper)
Writing is like freedom. It gave me the chance to express my feelings and opinions. But a good writing has limitations just like true freedom. I cannot just freely write always and never have an organized thought. Furthermore, true freedom requires responsibility. While a good essay should have relevance, consistency and organization. Also, I realized that writing is more than writing itself. It is the act of converting my thoughts and feelings in words in a way that others will understand and feel it.
After a semester of taking up English 1, I am proud to say that I improved in writing. The next sentences construe why I can say that I improved in this craft. First, I am now aware of putting introduction and clincher in paragraphs. Second, my recent paragraphs have less errors in grammar than my first work. Lastly, I am now able to think of ideas relevant to the topic instantly than before. My works became a proof that I did my best in learning the subject.
My writing skill now is very different from before. There is a wide gap in how I write before I take English 1 and after. Before, my works have no unity, coherence and order. I am also aware of my weaknesses in writing but I never have the chance to resolve it during high school. I even hated writing before because I never get my thoughts straight. Moreover, my works have no sense and its quiet a burden to read it. On the other hand, English 1 helped me developed my writing skills. I am now slowly learning how to write with sense. I also realized the importance of coherence, unity and order in writing. Thus, my essays now have a good topic and it is less burden to read it. Although I am still a bad writer, I am glad of the fact that I am developing in writing.
I believe that I am ready for my next English class. Though I did not reach my full potential in English 1, I am open in learning more. Additionally, my learnings and my experiences gave me the confidence to take English 2. All things considered, English 1 inspired me to love writing and be dedicated to it.
