the funniest thing i can imagine is when wild joins the group and is showing off the sheikah slate, mentioning that he can take photos with it, wind pipes up and is like “oh yeah! i have something like that!”

cue a pictograph showcase and it’s all just nice photos of wind’s family, tetra and the crew, several shaky snaps of moblins, and (a little oddly) photos of all the phases of the moon. until wind gets to the last photo and shows off:

Honestly, opinions will vary but for me, I’ll point out a few things to summarize my feelings on TOTK: (slightish spoilers ahead????)

It’s an okay game but becomes boring and mundane once you’ve completed all the side quests and shrines + lightroots. (That’s on me though bc I’ve played through it at least twice)

The sage abilities aren’t that great in my opinion, I enjoyed BOTW Champion abilities way more. The only Sage I consistently use is Tulin because he head shots enemies for me.

The tutorial island had no right being so hard, I actually hate how hard it was on my first try. I spent the first 2 days trying to figure out how the hell to reach all 3 shrines.

The boss fights are pretty fun, I enjoyed them throughly. Although…I would’ve preferred more of a challenge.

Ganondorf was an amazingly well written villain, if was one of the main reasons I played the game. Massive Ganondorf enjoyer for 12 years and the cutscenes and story line didn’t disappoint. I sincerely hope Age of Imprisonment expands on his lore, I am begging you Nintendo!

The upside is that DLC outfits in BOTW can now be found in treasure chests littered in the depths and finding them is the real fun. +Misko’s treasures.

Gleeoks are about the only enemy in the game that I actually find challenging + King Gleeok.

I really wish the Guardians were back and didn’t just randomly all disappear along with the ancient Sheikah technology I loved so much in BOTW. I would like an explanation for this Nintendo.

The shrines aren’t that great anymore. Unlike in BOTW they actually posed a challenge and I can’t tell you how much I despised getting Raru’s blessing where they just hand you a spirit/light orb. It feels lazy.

The fuse system is great, very innovative/inventive.

Ascend ability rocks.

The sound track slaps.

Nintendo actually managed to make us as an audience feel intimidated by Ganondorf, giving him 3 separate phases to fight. There was definitely a Demise reference during his secret stone scene, a nice call back to Skyward Sword. ❤️ (one of my all time favourite Zelda games)

The buildup to meeting Ganondorf plays out amazingly and the music becoming more frantic and eerie the closer we get to him was one of my favourite details.

All in all, as a first time player back in 2024…this game did not disappoint. I may have a few gripes but my reception is 90/100% positive.

Genuine question: is totk good? Like is it worth the money? I’ve seen people say it isn’t actually and I’m so curious. I was gonna buy it and experience the story first hand but if it’s shit then I’m not wasting my money
