“i’m really sorry.” he apologized. under any other circumstance, he would have gotten his best friend to play this role, but she disappeared into the crowd somewhere, likely following her own hunch. “I know this isn’t ideal.” 

He held his hand out for her. “I’m Jamie, by the way. My name feels like something you would know about your boyfriend, fake or otherwise.”

“this is really unfair of me to ask,” jamie closed his eyes with a sigh, leaning his back against the bar. he hated to do this, to rope a random stranger into one of his and charlotte’s investigation schemes, but he needed a reason for their suspect to back off. she was purposely trying to get him alone, and without this stranger next to him, he couldn’t come up with a reason not too. “but will you be my fake girlfriend? just for the night, i promise.” 

“hm?” angélique let out a hum, turning towards the man. after being stood up on her date, she had been planning on going home to wallow in self-pity. however, it seemed that there was another change in plan. lips pursed together as her brain attempted to wrap itself around his query. it was not everyday that someone asked her to be their faux partner, especially by a stranger of all people. “oh, okay…”

“oh darling,” genya chuckled, weaving her fingers into danica’s hair. “we simply must do something about this.” it wasn’t that the girl’s hair was bad—perhaps just a little tangled up in what felt like nonsensical knots. it would be pretty by anyone else’s standard, but genya was not the norm. she had much higher expectations, for herself and for the other people around her.

“did charlotte tell you that?” he chuckled humorlessly. you could say that jamie didn’t really believe in psychics, but then again, he’d never interacted with one before. not until now. “or are you just as good at deducting things as she is?”

an explanation for all of you

hey besties...it’s been a while. 

i’ve pretty much all but deactivated this account. i was going through it over quarantine and slowly, but surely, stopped listening to and watching musical. i am still pursuing a degree in music theatre—nothing can replace my love for performing, of course. but i realized i just lost a little bit of love for musicals, which is a little sad. 

and i still love writing and still want to write. this blog was such a big part of my life for many years that letting it go completely would really hurt me. i’ve made such good friends and writing partners that have shaped me as a person and majorly influence how i wrote and continue to write. 

since quaratine started i’ve been doing a lot more reading and watching of tv and movies. books are one of the things that make me the happiest in life. so, my thought is that this may become a book/tv show/movie multimuse. idk yet, it’s still just an idea

if you are still interested in that, i would love to have you. if not, it’s been a pleasure being friends with all of you, and i hope to see you again sometime. never be scared to shoot me a dm if you just wanna talk, because that was always really enjoyable.

Lillian sat silently as her elder brothers stares bore into her, “You two are being quite irrational, you claim to only want the best for me, and a Duke such as Hinton is undoubtedly the best a girl of my character and status could get”

“Lil, you know our families history with the Hintons-“

“Then isn’t it quite perfect to form an alliance” the girl retorted rolling her eyes. In reality she loathed the man, he seemed to know exactly how to push her buttons. But it was a mutually beneficial idea, it’d get swooning women off of his back, and bring attention back to her after her brothers managed to ruined her debut. How they got on her nerves, “I don’t have the freedom as you do to do what you like, you have already postponed by debut so long that I barely have any time left to find a decent suitor” At 21, Lillian was several years older than when her sisters had each began finding a suitor, at 18 and 19.

“What was this about marrying for love you used to speak of”

“You two ruined any chance I had at that,” she snapped back, “Ted isn’t as bad as you two make him out to be anyway,” she sighed before turning as a suitor was announced, straightening her back.

ted eyed where lillian was standing with her brothers. from his distance, he couldn’t quite hear what they were chatting about, though he presumed it was about the engagement that he and lillian had come up with a few hours ago. although they wanted nothing to do with each other upon their first meeting, they realized that the two of them had something the other one wanted. ted wanted to end the constant meeting with women to possibly marry, and lillian wanted to get her brothers off her back. 

as the last suitor was announced, the band started back up, and ted dared make his way to where lillian and her brothers were standing. after all, there was no act if he didn’t dance with lillian at every ball. people had to know that he was taken. 

“ may I have this dance, lady barrow ? ” he asked, kissing the back of her hand with a smirk.

“they were police issued!” shawn was at a comfort level she didn’t think was possible with clyde. she ran the risk of getting hit in the face still, sure, but it wasn’t scary. … it wasn’t as scary as it usually was. “you–you think i’ve just got money to throw away on fuzzy cuffs.” ( as opposed to the other shit she throws money away on? ) 

“there might be pictures somewhere, if you want proof…”

somehow worse. this conversation was truly pushing clyde to the brink of insanity and she was proud of herself for not pulling the gun from under her skirt and shooting shawn right between the eyes. lord knows that would make her feel better , but she held back , despite her hand comfortingly resting on the fabric of her skirt , right above where the hostler holds her precious. 

“ i believe you , you don’t need to show me your porno. ” clyde didn’t need her nearly impenetrable bond with her brother broken by seeing photos of him naked with some fake psychic.

his eyebrows raised. “if you’re inviting me to your next shower, allow me to rsvp right n–”

shawn put a finger on jane’s lips. he heard footsteps. they needed to hide, now. he covered her mouth entirely and pulled her into a broom closet. “oh my god there’s actual brooms in here!” he whisper-shouted.

jane barely had time to process the events happening before her eyes. one moment they were standing in the hallway , practically flirting , and now she was being dragged into a broom closet ( with actual brooms in it ! ). she pushed shawn’s hand away from her mouth, gasping out a breath as she was finally able to breathe. 

“ who cares about the brooms , what’s going on out there ? ” she asked in a whisper, peaking over shawn’s shoulder as if she could see through the door.
