Had to fix this photo before i posted it, it originally touted the quote as exclusively of Chinese origin, which it isn't, which is like saying walls were invented in China because they have a great one. Stop misleading people, just share the quote.

The Khaki Field Murph, inspired by a fake watch in the 2014 movie Interstellar later put into production. Pictured is the 38 mm with leather strap, they make it in 42 mm available with a stainless steel bracelet, which is the version i have. Both variations are about $900usd depending on where you buy it. Excellent watch, I recommend it.

Agree to disagree. You have the freedom to pop off to the mall for a day of shopping, do you think that would be better, safer, or even just ok, with hoardes of corrupt Pablo Escobar-types patrolling your favorite shopping pavilion waiting to financially extort you in exchange for the ability to shop at that pavilion?
Someone from another country wants to be here, fine, go ahead, give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, but do so legally. If you're here illegally? No, get the fuck out. That's called trespassing. May i pop on into your house real quick at 2 am while your kids are sleeping and help myself to your food and your TV and whatever else I want that you paid for and I didn't?
I can?! Cool! Thanks!

Capitalism is the way to go. Free market. Survival of the fittest. Yes, life's not fair. Want more? Do more. Earn it.
"Oh but that's greedy". Yeah. It is. If you assign me the adverb title of 'greedy', then you are also imutably assigning yourself the title of 'jealous'. "Everyone should have the same thing" "if I have 100 dollars then you should have a hundred dollars, not 1,000"
You like your iPhone, don't you? Do you like the tens of thousands of hours of sleepless nights and and no social life and no family life and research and design it took to physically manufacture that iPhone?
No?
Well Steve Jobs did, and he sold it to you so you didn't have to go through all that. He did more, he gets more.

Interesting take, those two rants.
Fact:
Organized education was originally conceived, whatever-hundreds of years ago, as a means of educating the next monarch, next king, next czar, next war general. Basically, the next governmental power. Organized education was very much propaganda, the act of indoctrinating who you wanted to be your successor of power.
And very much still is.
The root of modern lower education, is very much teaching obedience, acquiescence. No home ec, no wood shop, no auto shop. It's tests, standards, statistics, "where do you fit?" They don't teach you about the world, they teach you how to submit to it; "Show up, follow the rules (the bells), rise to MY expectations of you, not what you think you should be doing. You got the right answer but in the wrong way. Do what i say" which are all perfect metrics for creating a king, a senator, a position of power (whatever you whatever you want to call it).
Opinion:
So outriers of the "they're not spending enough on education" camp, are fighting (ignorantly, through no fault of their own) to achieve a system that will lead to more "ICE being paid $145,000 to disappear people".
Financing education, paying teachers more, is all well and good. The problem is the education itself, not the quantity of it. We don't need "better" or "more" education, if you throw more money at an education system built around submission and conformity and thats full of corruption and is morally reprehensible, you're going to get more submission and conformity and corruption and moral reprehension.
Educated populations are not a threat to power, informed populations are. You're all brilliant, all of you reading this, you're all incredibly smart, but how many of you (and I'm sure there are a few) but how many of you know the laws and the policies of our country word for word? Know the legalese, have been too the library of congress, read the actual bills themselves, not just regurgitated what you saw on the news or social media? I'm betting not many, and knowing how the atom works, knowing the intricacies of history and calculus, and being taught multiple languages, i.e., better education, doesn't make you a threat to senators and kings and czars and ICE, knowing the laws does, knowing the people who wrote the laws, reading the bills and policies. That's what "they" don't want you to do.
So we don't need better paid teachers, we need to change that which they're teaching.
And.
Freedom isn't free. And that statement has nothing to do with currency. You enjoy your freedom, you enjoy your safety (to publicly complain about the government without being beheaded for it, as an example), well one of the uncomfortable costs of that freedom, is deporting people who are in this country illegally. Does it suck to do that? Yeah. But as a result, you get to live in a neighborhood that isn't subject to violence. Should we pay teachers more? Sure, ok. But dealing with a hormonal, uninterested 7th grader, isn't quite as dangerous or complicated or expensive or technical as an officer of the law protecting your freedoms.

Getting suited and booted, gentlemen, will, A. Turn your world upside down in both the way you perceive it and the way it perceives you, and B. Doesn't take that much effort. A truly negligible amount.
And, if you fake it, "it", the notion that you belong, the notion that you have your shit together, the casual observer WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DISCERN THAT YOU DON'T (thereby opening the world to you, and you to the world)
Fake it. Own it. Own yourself.
Day off? Stressed out? Heading to the grocery store for the weeks' food or taking the car in to get serviced? Do so "dripped out", "dressed to the nines", "done up".
You don't have to save your best clothes, your best threads ONLY for a black tie dinner or job interview or church.
Instead of throwing on a printed t-shirt to run out for milk, or reup your supplies at the local dispensary or whatever it is you do when normally don't give a fuck about what you wear, opt for that collared button down.
Watch your world change.

I have many, many watches (which you'll see if you scroll down my blog), but this is my go-to. It happens to be my latest purchase, and if i can overcome the nostalgia of all the other watches I don't wear, i may just sell them.
This one, though, for my fellow watch enthusiasts, is the Longines Conquest Chrono Ski Edition, 42 mm.
