As someone around in 2019, what are your thoughts on TK that year? I feel by the time they got to November - judging by MMA 2019 - they seem to be pretty aligned. Other times that year feel less in sync.

I'm going to give another unsatisfying answer I'm afraid, but I don't really micro-analyze Taekook like that trying to put together a timeline of where they were at in their relationship at any given moment. I think I did the first year or two, but there's so much information we don't have and I don't feel comfortable assuming that everything we see them do is a serious indicator of something like that. I know if someone tried to analyze me like that they'd probably get a ton wrong. And honestly I just don't need to know all that. I feel like I know all that I need to know without trying to dissect everything. Plus their relationship could be very different now than it was then.

When I think of Taekook in 2019, I think of the Edaily Culture Awards in February.

But also, I think of what the company described as their first real break since they debuted and how Jungkook grew his hair long and got tattooed from the tip of his finger to his shoulder. Like, he REALLY went for it. I think he was obviously going through a lot then, and I think some of my not particularly wanting to dig into 2019 is that I feel like he should have had space to go through it privately. I know what it's like to be the good kid and a perfectionist but also feeling different and being really into that kind of subculture and rebelling in this specific kind of way. For me it was a way to reclaim myself and take control of my story, and very much to break free from others expectations of me. But it was messy, and I think it was for Jungkook too. BV4 always seemed cruel to me for this reason.

Tae also used the break to go on his "healing" trip with Wooga. So it seems like it might have been a challenging time/year for both of them. He could be referring to finally having a real break from his work being healing, but again there's always going to be a lot more going on than we know about not just in their lives but in them.

That is all the thoughts I have right now while I'm supposed to be working on something else. 😁
