Paranormal // Incubus AU

The coffee tasted stale. Like always. With a strange aftertaste that lingers on the tongue for minutes but it did it's job. If not the caffeine then definitely the disgusting, unique flavor. His concentration drifts from the case files in front of him to the machine that provides the whole station with this strange liquid. Had it been cleaned lately? Who was in charge of doing so? Why couldn't he fucking concentrate on what was written on the evidence chart? His head pounded with a blooming headache that announced itself since he sat down in his office, being blinded by the florescent light above. Unnatural – just like this case he was working on. A sigh left his lips as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

This fucking case didn't make any sense. It wasn't about a simple robbery or some kind of domestic violence which would have been bad enough on itself. No, it was even worse. It involved severed animal heads and strange blood-written symbols on all kind of surfaces. That kind one would assume to be straight out of a horror movie, but it wasn't anything like that. They investigated three different locations with the same pattern. Without any significant lead whatsoever.

Maybe it were some teenagers who got influenced by western media, a prank or a test of courage, something they wanted to try out because they read about it online on some social media site. What may have looked like an interesting trend on the internet to gain even a small drop of fame was far more serious in reality – a crime, a violation and hurtful to those who stumbled upon these crime scenes unaware. There had been no weapon found, no proof that the animals were decapitated on the premises – so as of now there remained a big question mark on the animal cruelty part. His own writing on the desktop screen became blurry and pain bloomed behind his eyes in such an intensity, that he had to close them for a minute. He needed a break. Right now. And definitely something else to drink than this horrible coffee with the weird extra flavor that haunts its victims for the rest of the day. -------------------------- Incubus AU with @casualblacklight -> Look at the amazing art! A few thoughts under the cut:

In-ho asks Gi-hun to swap, so he can protect him, but Gi-hun denies.

They actually meet during the H&S game but get seperated in the chaos.

At end of the game Gi-hun hears "player 001 eliminated". (Ofc it's only In-ho going back, like Il-nam did in Marbles)

But Gi-hun thinks it's his fault that Young-il is now dead too bcs he wasn't able to find him again and protect him.

I know it's bit cruel...

But it would have been such a nice add on to the whole betrayal 👉👈
