On Sept 17, what does it mean when it says Gradient?

That prompt is geared more towards photo/gif/video edits (such as colour gradients in particular shots in the films). But it's not exclusive to that type of content, so you're more than free to use it for something else if it interests you!

Hi everyone! Just a reminder that the Mission Impossible Gen Week is quickly approaching. The event will run from Monday September 15th - Sunday September 21st.

We've posted the prompts for each day ahead of time so people can prepare for the event, which you can find here.

#MIGenWeek Prompts & Dates

Mission: Impossible Gen Week will take place Monday September 15th - Sunday September 21st!

I'm posting the full prompt list now so anyone who wants to prepare content in advance for the event can do so. Once the event starts, you can post your content and I'll reblog it here to share with everyone!

To make this event is as inclusive as possible, each day will have five prompts - three are more general and two are geared more towards gifsets and photo edits (although you can choose whichever prompt(s) you like!). I received about 80 prompt submissions from the community and have grouped the most common/popular ones into daily themes. Thanks again to everyone who submitted prompt suggestions!

Hello everyone and welcome to #MIGenWeek2025!

The Mission: Impossible Gen Week is officially underway! This event is to encourage people to make gen (non-ship) fan content. All content is welcome - fanart, fanfic, video/photo edits, gifsets, playlists, etc.

To make sure there's a wide variety of prompts to choose from, please fill out this form to let me know what sorts of prompts you would like to see for this event. They can be short word prompts ("found family" "domesticity"), topic prompts ("mission gone wrong" "beach day"), AU prompts ("fantasy AU" "role reversal"), or prompts geared towards gifsets/photo edits ("best team moments" "favorite IMF team") - whatever you think you'd like to see created/make content for! You can suggest as many prompts as you like. Once I collect enough responses I'll go through them and create a prompt list based off the most popular concepts/prompts.

When the prompt list is finalized, I'll set dates for when the event will take place!

What is M:I Gen Week?

M:I Gen Week is a community event meant to celebrate the characters of Mission Impossible. Because a lot of fan content tends to be ship-focused, this is a week-long event meant to encourage the fandom to make gen (non-ship) content through a series of daily prompts.

You can fill out this form to suggest prompts you want to see during the event!

The dates for when the event will run are still being decided. I'll make an announcement on this blog once dates are finalized!

What kind of content is accepted?

Anything generally accepted by most fandom events - art, fic, gifs, photo and video edits, playlists/remixes, etc.

Is NSFW content allowed?

NSFW (sexual) content is not allowed, given that this is a gen event. However, you are more than welcome to make content with other adult themes, such as gore/violence, heavy angst, etc. If there is graphic content in your work, please indicate it somewhere so I can tag it appropriately.

Are background ships allowed?

This one has a bit of wiggle room. Canon ships (eg Julia/Ethan) can be mentioned, but the focus of the content you make should be non-shippy in nature.

Are OCs allowed?

This event is meant to encourage content for the canon characters of the series. However, you are more than welcome to include OCs in your content!

How do I participate?

You can post your content to your own blog and use the tag #MIGenWeek so that I can find it and reblog here. You can also @ this blog directly in your post. I'll be reblogging content throughout the week and afterwards, and if I somehow miss your post, please let me know and I’ll reblog it!
