update on this: i colored ros a more bluer purple bc she likes blue purples and i finally unlocked the necessary colors! she is so cutesy

also there was this big grey thing drawn over clown. so i redrew him over it. then they covered him up again so i redrew him above ros's head. then they covered it up again bc it sort of covered part of theri drawing.... (mind u they completely covered clown first but whatever) and redrew him on the other side of ros which covered someones writing. ok. :| anyways the point is they r still alive and well and happy

teaser for a little project that lisa @mitakesgf and i have been working on <3

essentially, this is a gribeans x the hunger games au where joel is from district 12 and grian is a district 2 career. it’s slowburn and angsty and tragic and it is so fun.

here’s our list of tributes + mentors for the fic! it follows joel so we mostly see him, grian, mumbo, and shane

there are a lot of background ships and messy relationships. there’s even a messy toxic exes firebeans where shane is district 12’s only victor so he’s de facto the mentor but he and joel are really messy exes who haven’t spoken in 4 years. joel broke up with shane 4 years ago on the day that shane got reaped but against all odds, shane won his games and came back but they never worked it out and now they keep fighting bc joel doesn’t want to listen to shane out of spite and shane hates him but wants to keep him alive bc he still does care about joel and there are so many unresolved and unspoken feelings between them. their dynamic is so messy and fun bc they both want the same thing (for joel to live) but they can’t get along long enough to make a game plan together and it’s so tense and lisa and i have already planned a spin off prequel about shane’s games where he and ghostie are the tributes and have a crazy tragic heterosexual romance and feinberg is their mentor who is from district 2 and was assigned to mentor them

grian and joel’s dynamic hinges around the fact that grian is a career who knows exactly how to play the game to win while joel literally does not care. grian is watching joel insult the capitol citizens and flip them off during the parade and he’s thinking “okay well that moron just signed his death warrant” but somehow it’s working bc the capitol finds joel charming??? and grian DOESNT GET IT and he’s so intrigued he’s like “i’ve never seen anyone like this guy. i need to diagnose him”.

and it’s going to be so fun and messy and LONG. lisa and i are about 10k words in and we’re still on chapter 1. gribeans haven’t even MET yet because we’re so invested in the world building and other character relationships as well. we also have spinoffs in the same universe planned following diff characters including a prequel about shane’s games with fein as his mentor.

but i hope this concept sounds at least a little interesting to you guys bc lisa and i are SO invested in it. i will drop some snippets if anyone is interested because its so so fun to write and i would love to talk about it more

joel shoves him, hard, and grian crumples to the ground. he doesnt break eye contact though, staring at him hard with rebellious eyes. it doesnt even make sense. joel doesnt like sacrifices, he likes hard-earned wins. fights that are worth his time and effort; he thought he had finally found that in someone.

but now? grian’s just giving himself up? served to him on a silver platter, and he thinks joel is supposed to be grateful for it. like he’s some sort of fucking pity party.

joel reaches for his collar, grabbing the fabric tightly in his fist. he’s kneeling on the grassy floor now, grian’s legs sprawled around him and they sit so close yet feel so far from each other. “fight me, you coward. don’t start with your stupid sacrificial bullshit now. fight me.”

grian just stares at him, and it only infuriates him more. the other’s eyebrows are furrowed in stubbornness and joel can feel his heartbeat in his grip, tight against his skin. his nails dig into his own flesh.

“do something!” joel growls, shaking him, “hit me back! what is wrong with you??”

grian just watches him, his eyes pained. there’s something he wants to say almost and joel watches his mouth, his lips. joel can taste the iron in his mouth, the blood from earlier seeping onto his tongue.

“joel,” he says evenly. joel’s eyes flicker back up to meet his. they watch each other quietly, waiting for the other to make a move. god knows he wants to, but he’s not sure if he’s allowed to have it.

but when has joel ever asked for permission from god? no. he makes his own destiny. grian moves first, like he knew the moment joel has made up his mind.

and he leans forward into him.

his mouth clashes on his, teeth on teeth, tongue against tongue. it’s not soft or gentle—no they were anything but that—it’s rough and rigged around the edges. they’re bloody and messy and can’t seem to get enough.

grian’s hands are holding him so tightly that he wonders if the thin fabric of his clothes is going to rip under his hands. his grip around grian’s collar only grows stronger as he pulls grian into him more and more. he wants him. needs to have him.

this is almost how they fight: with nails digging into skin, teeth gnawing on flesh, and noises underneath their collars. like wolves trying to bite and claw at each other, like predator against predator.

this is how it ends: grian pulling away first, leaving joel to lunge forward as grian falls back. joel lands on top of him and they’re suddenly at square one, right back at the beginning.

joel watches grian’s chest rise and fall. he watches how grian’s hand reaches up at his cheek, soft and kind. it’s warm against the sweat that attempts to cool his skin.

“do it. you know how it ends. you know what you want, joel.”

joel doesn’t know though. he knows that what he wants more than ever is right here in his grasp. underneath the cotton bunched under his fingertips or a single stab through the heart. he knows he cannot have both and that he must choose one. he knows he will regret either decision he makes.

This is a timetable for phone calls with 707 in the deep story, from day 1 to day 11. SPOILERS ALERT!!!

NOTES (PLEASE READ THIS): + Including the phone calls from 707 to you ( marked as “707”) and you to him (marked as “You”). TOTAL: 46 Phone calls of 707. + The lines in “quote” I used as a summary for the phone call content are 707’s lines. + The phone call can’t be made until the chat room with the time mentioned below opens. + Missed chat room = missed phone calls. (Buying the chat room with HG works) + Phone calls work even when you purchase a day of chat rooms ahead. + Some phone calls can be made before or after you enter a chat room. i think its really funny how at the start everyone was like "i hope clown makes ros worse," but now her relationship with clown is arguably the healthiest relationship she has

Something about Ros being scared and off put by the rest of the server's attempts to help her. Water, Lukey and Pangi were so quick to help Ros complete Yellow's part of the quests and even reassured her that they were already doing it anyway and that she shouldn't feel guilty. It freaked Ros out because she couldn't figure out what they wanted from her or why they were doing it. She actually thought Lukey was serious when he was sarcastically joking about how he had hoped she'd refuse his help so he can spend more time being evil and doing yaoi.

Yes, an extra life was on the line for everyone and Green didn't know if they would lose a life as well but that concern for Ros was real. Water tried checking in with Ros multiple times, even after the quests were turned in. If Ros didn't turn in those quests she would have fully reset and lost everything. The whole server put Ros on suicide watch because they thought this was her way of killing herself. Ros got frustrated and didn't understand why they wouldn't leave her alone but from their perspective it really looked like Ros wanted to die. Even her explanation to Pangi is shaky at best and still concerning because time is running out.

Water, Lukey and Pangi were all enemies of Yellow and that's why Ros is so confused as to why they would help her. Yellow has historically done their quests on their own without outsider help and Green has even tried to sabotage them. It feels wrong for Ros to get help from outsiders. But everyone has stopped seeing Ros as a part of Yellow. The rest of the server has moved on and they see Ros as an individual outside of a faction. To them, Yellow is no longer the Kingdom they oppose, it's just the color of Ros. Meanwhile Ros clings to her identity as a member of Yellow faction and builds statues in a last act of desperation to bring them back. She refuses to turn in faction quests even at the risk of her own life because she's desperate to be a part of Yellow. So when Ros refuses everyone's help for a quest that will kill her if she doesn't complete it, they all worry. And then their worry only shocks Ros more because in her mind they are supposed to be her enemies who are praying on her downfall. Ros doesn't realize they haven't been enemies for a very long time. But I also think for Ros to admit that would mean admitting that Yellow no longer exists and I don't think she's ready for that yet.
